Watching part 2 of Roosy's interview, mentioned he was heading to Hawaii in the 2nd part of trade week. Indicated we should be done by then.

Interesting decision, makes you wonder if some deals are already done.

According to the pinned thread (I pasted these few dates below), the second week is also the time free agency ends. From memory, they don't hand out compensation until the free agency deadline. Is this still the case? In which case, we wouldn't know for certain that we had pick 3 coming in.

Clubs can get an indication from HQ as to what their compensation will be before they're handed out. Whilst we cannot consummate any trades until the compensation is officially announced, we can still negotiate trades based what we'll be doled out.

Thanks. I hope by "indication" its a case of "you will definitely receive pick 3".

Really wouldn't want to lose loyal kids like Trengove and Toumpas, but with the market as it is I feel like we would be negligent to not explore ever avenue to acquiring Dangerfield.

He is one of the most marketable players in the league, and he's an awesome player to boot.

One concern is the head injuries though - how prohibitive are they?

What the ?

is this serious, the senior coach takes a holiday in the most important week once the season finishes? surely he can sun himself in early pre-season, when a senior assistant can run training.

All the trade stuff would be pretty much worked out prior, if not they make a phone call. No biggie.

What about a Bernie Vince scenario - last minute meeting and convincing from a coach...

Considering how important this time of year is, I am surprised he would be heading o/s

Hey, he should've just gone 6 weeks ago.

I don't think that was last minute. Roos called his folks prior to the trade period IIRC.

I agree that it isn't ideal but the fact remains that rarely do players go to clubs on a whim in the last few days of trade week. One exception would be Mitch Clark...

The are lined up weeks in advance and prepared and trade week is more about getting the deal done than convincing players to come.

wtf? it is somehow worse than any other player leaving any other club because the teams are from the same state? If anything it is MORE excusable because he doesn't have t relocate. I wish there was an unwritten law that no other Vic clubs could steal our players

Power and Crows hate each other more than any 2 other clubs in the country. They enjoy seeing each others team lose as much as they enjoy their own team winning.

If Tex (who is a crows favorite) went to Port they would burn his house down!!

The way I see it (not sure about GNF's mail on these details) is that our biggest rival in romancing Dangerfield would be St Kilda.

Any team would love him, especially sides of our calibre and having pick 1 and a lot of money freed up makes them a viable option for Dangerfield/Adelaide.

Barring any last minute hitch, Sam Frost will play for MFC according to his manager. The same source had not heard anything regarding the Dangerfield.

With Sanderson now sacked as coach [despite having two years of his contract to run], this may change a few Adelaide players ideas about whether they stay/go including Dangerfield. Let us hope that we can get a deal done!

He may fly possible suitors to Hawaii....

I'm pretty sure Roos has it under control. Or maybe you should phone him to advise him you know better?

We could get James Caan to play Roos and have him make ridiculous monetary offers to seduce people.

I can see it now,,

Sauce Dazzler?

That sounds positive if true.

Source not B Vince?

I preferred the story that you were under the family couch at the time Dazzle. Would have loved to see his father's reaction when he heard an unaccounted for "YESSSSS!!!" coming from under the furniture upon hearing Roos speak.

Thats hilarious

    WILDCARDS by KC from Casey

Casey’s season continued to drift into helplessness on Sunday when they lost another home game by a narrow margin, this time six points, in their Round 13 clash with North Melbourne’s VFL combination. The game was in stunning contrast to their last meeting at the same venue when Casey won the VFL Wildcard Match by 101 points. Back then, their standout players were Brodie Grundy and James Jordon who are starring in the AFL with ladder leaders, the Sydney Swans (it turned out to be their last

    LIFE SUPPORT by Whispering Jack

With Melbourne’s season hanging on a thread, Saturday night’s game against North Melbourne unfolded like a scene in a hospital emergency department.  The patient presented to the ward in a bad way. Doctors and nurses pumped life-saving medication into his body and, in the ensuing half hour, he responded with blood returning to his cheeks as he stirred back to life. After a slight relapse, the nurses pumped further medication into the bloodstream and the prognosis started looking good as the

GAMEDAY: Rd 15 vs North Melbourne

It's Game Day and it very well could be the last roll of the dice for the Demon's finals aspirations in 2024. A loss to the bottom side would be another embarrassing moment in a cursed year for the Dees whilst a win could be the spark they need to reignite the fire in the belly.

    THE HUNTER by The Oracle

Something struck me as I sat on the couch watching the tragedy of North Melbourne’s attempt to beat Collingwood unfold on Sunday afternoon at the MCG.    It was three quarter time, the scoreboard had the Pies on 12.7.79, a respectable 63.16% in terms of goal kicking ratio. Meanwhile, the Roos’ 18.2.110 was off the charts at 90.00% shooting accuracy. I was thinking at the same time of Melbourne’s final score only six days before, a woeful 6.15.51 or 28.57% against Collingwood’s 14.5.89

    FROZEN by Whispering Jack

Who would have thought?    Collingwood had a depleted side with several star players out injured, Max Gawn was in stellar form, Christian Petracca at the top of his game and Simon Goodwin was about to pull off a masterstroke in setting Alex Neal-Bullen onto him to do a fantastic job in subduing the Magpies' best player. Goody had his charges primed to respond robustly to the challenge of turning around their disappointing performance against Fremantle in Alice Springs. And if not that, t
