Melbourne - Dom Tyson, NDS 9 (Christian Salem) & NDS 57 (Jayden Hunt)

GWS - NDS 2 (Josh Kelly), NDS 22 (Darcy Gardiner) & NDS 72 (Pass)

I'm happy with the outlook on that deal, much prefer what we got, 2 likely b+/a graders & hunt, hope he comes good too.

How is that a win for the Suns?

i think Gold Coast have 10 a grade kids coming through the midfield and it's always good to spread the age of your list. They can cover swallow and bring in another young gun mid or key tall. You have to spread the age of players on your list especially the GWS and Gold Coast were they have so many players around the age of 21 and 22 this will hurt the club in the long run if they don't plan ahead. St Kilda made this mistake

I think there’s always a chance that Petracca won’t make it to our pick regardless of whether we trade pick 2 or not.

Saints could decide he’s the best available and go with the pick, or they trade the pick to GWS and still get the tall they want at pick 3 or 4. Saints could well flag a strong interest in Petracca to help along any prospective deal with GWS.

In either scenario we miss him, but I get the feeling that Roo’s is happy for us to flip the pick and get either a more established player and another asset back. If we have 2 and 3 I still wouldn’t be surprised if ended up dealing pick 2 and being happy to take Brayshaw even if we had a play at Petracca.

I think the likelihood of us ending up with Petracca is prob at around 50/50 if not less.

If anyone understands that the player taken at pick one in the draft may not be all that important in the final analysis, then it should be us. Not over fussed about all of this and on the back of last year, feel comfortable that our folk will get us some worthwhile players.

I agree with this. I don't think Petracca is going to be make of break for us, there are a few pretty handy players in the projected top 10 or so.

2 for 2

For accuracy sake - Roos said he would not have done a straight pick 2 for Tyson - he wanted to get a pick back in the top 10 which was he got. (Tyson, 9 and 52 for 2,20,72)

I remember being underwhelmed by Scully's highlights while everyone else seem to salivate.

Most of the highlight packages are pretty meh.

Two of the better packages I have seen is Fitzpatrick and Troy Davis - what does that tell you ?

If Mitch Clark goes to the Saints in the PSD as has been rumoured.. we can say goodbye to Petracca.

I'm not sure that he can go in the PSD, it might depend a lot on the settlement agreement with him and also the AFL's somewhat flexible rules.

If Mitch and Frawley go we shall be looking at picks 2,3,4 based on the salary and value of both players...

The AFL can call it a Priority pick or compo for Clark, but... anything less would be a travesty.

And with those picks, and Roos, we are looking at a better draft than last year that netted us 3 top 5 players.

You were watching the wrong videos?

I saw the Fyfe highlights video and it was underwhelming also.

How would we get a top 5 pick for Clark?

Free agent compensation is based on the value and the length of the contract the player is getting at their new club. Clark certainly isn't going to get big money or much more than a 1 year deal based on his 14 games in 3 years.

Or are you saying the AFL will give us something on compassionate grounds? Still couldn't see it being a top 5 pick.

Players association has said if clubs want Mitch they will have to trade with mfc,

Based on what we invested in Mitch we will ask a fair bit I reckon

We will trade Clark if he wants to go to the club of his choice. Swap for Labamba would be ok. Otherwise would be looking say 30+ given his injuries. What we really need is pick3 for Frawley!!!

Assuming we get pick 3 compo for Chip, what about picks 2 & 3 to the Saints for their pick 1, pick 20 and a player?

On second thoughts, just eyeballed their senior list and its lean pickings indeed. They'll take Petracca for sure at pick 1 and they need to. We need to be content with Brayshaw (or whoever else it is that the recruiting team like for our first pick).

The side is going to be filled with Jack's and Christian's

Happy with the Jacks, well most of them but wouldn't mind a few lions instead of Christians.

What? I'd take 2 & 3, celebrate and try to do a Dyson/Salem deal with one and get whoever the Sts didn't with the other. Brayshaw, young gun, and later 1st round pick sounds better than your plan

Why on earth would Mitch Clark go to the Saints if he wants to play Finals footy? He would be better off in a team boasting him alongside Dawes and Hogan which was the intent this year.

Speaking of Jacks have you seen the WAGS photos? MFC site.

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov
