pantaloons 2,019 Posted August 15, 2014 Posted August 15, 2014 Demonland could go into meltdown if we had two players on our list picked before Wines.
Dr. Gonzo 24,468 Posted August 15, 2014 Posted August 15, 2014 He looks like too much of a Cale Morton for me. Pass.
dee-luded 2,959 Posted August 15, 2014 Posted August 15, 2014 Dom Tyson type deal includes our 2nd rnder to yep, our 2nd Pick (compo) + Blease + ,,, for Jaksch & O'Rourke...... If Shiel or Coniglio aren't coming.
rjay 25,428 Posted August 15, 2014 Posted August 15, 2014 If ever there was a player on the GWS list that could do a Tyson, it is O'Rourke. He'd be a great get, has the tools to be a star. He hasn't shown it at all.
KingDingAling 3,758 Posted August 15, 2014 Posted August 15, 2014 He hasn't shown it at all. Same could've been said of Dom Tyson - and Anthony Miles. Jack Hombch from Port. GWS is a toxic environment, we land O'Rourke we got a gun. The kid can seriously play.
Bring-Back-Powell 15,576 Posted August 15, 2014 Posted August 15, 2014 For a guy that was taken pick 2, he must have something seriously going for him. I'm sure Roosy will be interested.
What 18,810 Posted August 15, 2014 Posted August 15, 2014 would give 2nd rounder But we might need to use that on Billy Stretch
KingDingAling 3,758 Posted August 15, 2014 Posted August 15, 2014 would give 2nd rounder But we might need to use that on Billy Stretch Sides will be lining up in their droves to bid on Stretch. What an absolute gun. On what little I have seen of this kid, I'd have him inside my top 10. Was far more impressive for SA than Toumpas ever was.
Pipefitter 2,236 Posted August 15, 2014 Posted August 15, 2014 We've made enough top 5 draft pick mistakes. Why pick up another clubs mistake?
monoccular 17,761 Posted August 15, 2014 Posted August 15, 2014 Must be a saviour, because he was a top 10 pick. Oh.....hang on.........!!!!

I know Todd Viney has been tracking the GWS players so he will have a good idea on his worth.
Lil_red_fire_engine 11,392 Posted August 16, 2014 Posted August 16, 2014 I wonder whether those wanting us to punt on O'Rourke what their thoughts are on Toumpas.
Ted Lasso 19,586 Posted August 16, 2014 Posted August 16, 2014 Miles is the one from GWS we should have picked up last year, would have been a delisted free agent or Rookie pick, he has an amazing work ethic and is showing how good he is going to be now
Harry Plopper 105 Posted August 16, 2014 Posted August 16, 2014 I wonder whether those wanting us to punt on O'Rourke what their thoughts are on Toumpas. If a deal with O'Rourke can be done which doesn't cost MFC too dearly in picks I would definitely take a punt. I don't think we should have taken Toumpas at pick 4 IMO. That does not mean I would now use our current pick 4 on O'Rourke without something else coming back to MFC. Its the potential value for what you give up, so its not really comparable. I think we went overs for Toumpas but if we can get a good deal done then i think O'Rourke is worth the gamble.
KingDingAling 3,758 Posted August 16, 2014 Posted August 16, 2014 I wonder whether those wanting us to punt on O'Rourke what their thoughts are on Toumpas. My thoughts are that Toumpas is soft and won't make it.
chook fowler 19,783 Posted August 16, 2014 Posted August 16, 2014 My thoughts are that Toumpas is soft and won't make it. Very hard on Toumpas. No basis for saying he is soft at this stage of his career. Give him a break.
Lil_red_fire_engine 11,392 Posted August 16, 2014 Posted August 16, 2014 My thoughts are that Toumpas is soft and won't make it. My view is Toumpas has shown alot more than O'Rourke and is the type of player that takes time. He is not a maniac at the ball but he is far from soft. People shouldn't discount the impact of double hip surgery on Jimmy's first two years and I think he will make great strides next year with another full pre-season.

Machsy 2,858 Posted August 16, 2014 Posted August 16, 2014 I'd give, say, pick 4 and our 2nd rounder (say, pick 22) for O'Rourke and Tomlinson. In a hearbeat. Wouldn't let GWS pause to reconsider. I'd take their hand off.

whatwhat say what 23,884 Posted August 16, 2014 Posted August 16, 2014 We won't if no one nominates him below us.
Machsy 2,858 Posted August 16, 2014 Posted August 16, 2014 We'll have to use our second rounder on Stretch. Stretch would go top 15 if not F&S. That's speculation, and not really relevant to what I'd happily give. Fwiw I think Stretch is going to be worth a top 15 pick to us, but would be selected 20-30, and we'll eventually get him for a 3rd rounder with some luck.
rjay 25,428 Posted August 23, 2014 Posted August 23, 2014 Just pinged a hammy.... Didn't really impress before that...
whatwhat say what 23,884 Posted August 23, 2014 Posted August 23, 2014 Looks like the second coming of Cale Morton to me.
