Jeremy Cameron for our forward line?

Featured Replies

If he does elect to leave I would hope we would do everything in our power to be one of the front runners to nab him.

Something is also nagging at me that the AFL might step in to try and convince him to stay, what little supporters there are love the way he plays and it would be a massive blow to the AFL's pet project if he were to leave.

Fyfe to GWS and Cameron to Freo

straight deal

Yeah, but you reckon Fyfe would want to go? I doubt it.

Desperation move by GWS to wheel him out now on the back of a rumour. A bit like the whole Scully thing with us, smells of a poorly run club. He's gone....

well i hope hes ours!

The AFL will do whatever it takes to keep these players, even if it means doubling their ridiculous "expansion allowance" so they can start paying idiotic large salaries that no other team can match.

wouldn't surprise me if they doubled the width between the goalposts at GWS' end or let them play with 19 blokes onfield just to protect their investment

fairness is not their priority, money is

They'd need a few more than 19 at the minute!

Our first round draft pick is all i'm willing to go, i'd throw in Blease, but wouldn't matter all that much.

And Bill didn't get a blowie from Monica either.

RTG he made it clear he did not have a sexual relationship with that women! That's on the record.

Cal Ward lived 5mins from the Bullies. Tom Suclly also left for the $$$. $$$ does talk.

If GWS struggles, AFL will be desperate for them to get a senior player/gun like Fyfe. They'll find a way somehow to get a gun to GWS.

Cameron is the best young forward in the game. If he isn't worth a kitchen sink, no one is.

Let's draw up the contract just in case. And if his Dad is interested he can have a job too.

Fyfe will be set up for life in WA, money won't be an issue and if Freo try to railroad him the Eagles will welcome a quality midfielder with open arms. He's going nowhere.

'Never say never' Sean Connery (the wig years)

I'll tell you one thing right now, Hogan will never be a "stay at home" forward.

I agree, his pre season game he was on his bike down to the back. That said one more fwd would be good.

We need a good mid and a elite fwd, so i'm in favour of someone like Cameron, if all our eggs needs to be in one basket (and that has never ever worked for us) then i'd go Fyfe, but he will not leave, willing to bet a slab on that. Dangerfield is brilliant but for some reason i don't see him lasting durability wise, more risk with picking him up.

For me a midfield is a team gig and we'll get another season out of cross and vince at least, then we have a huge need for another, but fwds we need now, our 'score for' is woeful, whereas our mids are finding synergies together.

As to trading Watts, while he is not 'protected' everything i get from the club is that he is a 'team' guy and respected internally, it was terrible when Junior was let go and Watts departing would send the wrong message.

But back to Cameron, we have some room, he is young and would fit with our other guys, he is worth the cash, and we'll have room for one more big contract in a year.

riight, & the dress, apparently?

That was the least convincing performance since Scully had that press conference while at Melbourne.

Oh I agree, but I really couldn't blame any of the GWS players for wanting out, the other clubs have the chance to cash in bigtime, I reckon if we lose chip we should throw both top 10 picks, at them and see if they want to hand us Treloar and Cameron, or Treloar and Shiel

If Cameron takes most of the sinks left in the Greater Western Sydney region to keep him, then we will just have to accept who we can get, I guess. beggars can't be choosy, they say.

come on down lads. fly south for the Indian Winter.

All the Bond movies were wig years for Connery. Wore one from Doctor No onwards.

Anyway, I'm on the fence with Cameron. If our guys think it's worth throwing the kitchen sink at him, then fine, if not, I'm happy.

So IF Frawley leaves.

Pick 4 & 5 + Watts for Cameron?

Haha, what the hell?? No way I'd agree to that from an MFC point of view.

That's where I sit with it 'Adam'.

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
