WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - ANGUS BRAYSHAW

Featured Replies

The deal that's been mentioned is pick 1 and 21 for O'Rourke, Jacksh and pick 4, I thought?

We could stuff that up by threatening to trade 3 to a club that wants McCartin or take him ourselves.

Silly Saints. O'Rourke & Jordan Gysberts seprated at birth in terms of playing style. Jaksch is yet to be proven, 193 cm not tall enough for KP at best 3rd tall maybe.

Alot to give up for pick number 1.

Jaksch is 196cm, have seen it as 197cm sometimes, pretty good height for a KPP.

We either get Petracca or Brayshaw at 2 ... win win

Knowing our luck if we were to go down this path one will become an absolute star of the game - that game changer we needed, while the other is nothing more than depth and the one we selected.

Everyone then harps on as to why we didn't pick player X instead of player Y.

That well could be the case. It certainly would be a bit more balanced.

I found Brayshaw a tad underwhelming compared to the hype in the champs but dont count myself an expert. I alway gets worried though when the player is not doing the draft camp testing that they are hiding something.

A source close to the family (I hate that I wrote this but its true) tells me that he was super impressed with our interviewing process and really wants to get to us. If we like him as much the deal could be as good as done.

His ankle was so painful during Sandrigham's last game that he was vomiting, but kept playing. Get him

For all we know, Brayshaw may go at pick 1 (ok he won't but still), won't be ours or any deal done until end of draft day.

Talks a bit about training with us, and also that he's aspiring to be more like Christian Salem. Wants to be able to do inside and outside the way Salem can, and that he considers him a good mate.

What a brutal choice between this guy and (potentially) Danger. Apparently Roos spent A LOT of time on the phone today at the 'G while observing combine drills.

More like pick 7 or 13 will be a star and everyone on here will be saying that we could have got him at pick 2 but we went for breaysaw who isn't any good because he hasn't won a brownlow in his second season.

So Roosy spending alot of time on the phone automatically means we are a big chance for Danger?

Ok.....

Where did I say that? If anything I think it means he'd be dealing with countless trade options and working out what to do.

I reckon Roos has had the Brayshaw and Dangerfield double header lined up since Frawley showed his hand months ago.

Please make it so.

Yep thats what I was thinking aswell.

Sandringham under 18s in the TAC cup.

his son Tyler plays there

I hope we put in a bid somewhere for Tyler, if we can.

Why because he is Paul Roos son?

I have seen Tyler play. Turn over king.

thats OK, if he's any chip off the block he'll tidy that up along the way. I'm talking after the 3rdRnd somewhere?

i don't think we have to choose... Dangerfield is a proven A grade player, but giving up picks 2 and 3 is way overs and I doubt it's the kind of trade Roos would make... It just doesn't make sense?

Might mean nothing but Angus and PR were having a chat and a laugh with each other before his presser today. Looked very chummy. He was chatting with Tyler during the presser as well.

And PR said he wouldn't give up 2 and 3 for Danger or anyone for that matter. Said it would be player and picks, so he's obviously got an eye on his options at the top end of the draft. Methinks he's super keen on Angus.

The ideal situation would be pick 2 and a player for Dangerfield, I just can't see it happening.

If Dangerfield chase goes nowhere, bit of talk of trading pick 2 to the Bulldogs for 6 and a very good young mid.

Rationale being Brayshaw still there at 6 due to talls wanted elsewhere, and he's the man we want.

Hi Brett Anderson from SEN.....

Again.

I never saw your prediction and thought I came up with that one myself.

I don't think Brayshaw will be there at 6. Might have to use 3

Imagine trading 3 to doggies for 6 and Dalhaus, nabbing Petracca at 2 and Brayshaw still being there at 6!!! Highly unlikely, but would be a great draft win if we could get it done.

  • PREVIEW: Richmond

A few years ago, the Melbourne Football Club produced a documentary about the decade in which it rose from its dystopic purgatory of regular thrashings to the euphoria of a premiership victory. That entire period could have been compressed in a fast motion version of the 2025 season to date as the Demons went from embarrassing basket case to glorious winner in an unexpected victory over the Dockers last Saturday. They transformed in a single week from a team that put in a pedestrian effort of predictably kicking the ball long down the line into attack that made a very ordinary Bombers outfit look like worldbeaters into a slick, fast moving side with urgency and a willingness to handball and create play with shorter kicks and by changing angles to generate an element of chaos that yielded six goals in each of the opening quarters against Freo.

  • NON-MFC: Round 07

Round 7 gets underway in iconic fashion with the traditional ANZAC Day blockbuster. The high-flying Magpies will be looking to solidify their spot atop the ladder, while the Bombers are desperate for a win to stay in touch with the top eight. Later that evening, Fremantle will be out to redeem themselves after a disappointing loss to the Demons, facing a hungry Adelaide side with eyes firmly set on breaking into the top four. Saturday serves up a triple-header of footy action. The Lions will be looking to consolidate their Top 2 spot as they head to Marvel Stadium to clash with the Saints. Over in Adelaide, Port Adelaide will be strong favourites at home against a struggling North Melbourne. The day wraps up with a fiery encounter in Canberra, where the Giants and Bulldogs renew their bitter rivalry. Sunday’s schedule kicks off with the Suns aiming to bounce back from their shock defeat to Richmond, taking on the out of form Swans. Then the Blues will be out to claim a major scalp when they battle the Cats at the MCG. The round finishes with a less-than-thrilling affair between Hawthorn and West Coast at Marvel. Who are you tipping and what are the best results for the Demons?

  • REPORT: Fremantle

For this year’s Easter Saturday game at the MCG, Simon Goodwin and his Demons wound the clock back a few years to wipe out the horrible memories of last season’s twin thrashings at the hands of the Dockers. And it was about time! Melbourne’s indomitable skipper Max Gawn put in a mammoth performance in shutting out his immediate opponent Sean Darcy in the ruck and around the ground and was a colossus at the end when the game was there to be won or lost. It was won by 16.11.107 to 14.13.97. There was the battery-charged Easter Bunny in Kysaiah Pickett running anyone wearing purple ragged, whether at midfield stoppages or around the big sticks. He finish with a five goal haul.

  • CASEY: UWS Giants

The Casey Demons took on an undefeated UWS Giants outfit at their own home ground on a beautiful autumn day but found themselves completely out of their depth going down by 53 points against a well-drilled and fair superior combination. Despite having 15 AFL listed players at their disposal - far more than in their earlier matches this season - the Demons were never really in the game and suffered their second defeat in a row after their bright start to the season when they drew with the Kangaroos, beat the Suns and matched the Cats for most of the day on their own dung heap at Corio Bay. The Giants were a different proposition altogether. They had a very slight wind advantage in the opening quarter but were too quick off the mark for the Demons, tearing the game apart by the half way mark of the term when they kicked the first five goals with clean and direct football.

  • PREGAME: Richmond

The Dees are back at the MCG on Thursday for the annual blockbuster ANZAC Eve game against the Tigers. Can the Demons win back to back games for the first time since Rounds 17 & 18 last season? Who comes in and who goes out?
