Needs to be included on the Demonland banner asap. Potentially next to Paul Roos.

Called for it in the Banner thread. It just looks weird not having him. Get the big lug up there.

When was the last time you looked at the Demonland Banner?

Pick 20 is not overs for Chris Dawes. You have to go back to 2009 to find a pick between 20-25 that is clearly superior to Dawes - and that's Fyfe, who is one of those "unpredictable freaks". People consistently overrate draft picks that will find a kid with promise who'll play 3 seasons, 50 games, and then get delisted. 20 for Dawes was a good deal.

Some complained at the time at the $500k plus price tag.

And how about that tackle in the 3rd QTR....

MAN CRUSH

Interesting isn't it? If you said that BBO's tackle gave you a man crush, I'd have all sorts of concern for you.

The fact that it's Dawesy's tackle that made you feel that way is totally acceptable.

Must confess I didn't know much about him when he was at Collingwood, so I was neither here nor there if we got him, but I'm a real convert and if you could have 3 Captains I'd want him to be the third. He's like a nastier version of Neita.

It breaks your heart when you see Mitch at training knowing he will never play for us again and to have Jesse out injured is a double whammy.

To me he was the big success of 2010 and without him the FILTH wouldn't have won the premiership.

He was a critical factor all year in that forward setup.

Wait, are you saying the tackle gave you a man crush … or the tackle crushed a man?

(Both answers are correct…)

A little form answer A and a little from answer B

No seriously i felt the same as many on here when we signed him.. I was excited of the prospect of having him play in our forward line. I totally underestimated his effect on the whole team tho.

Having him in the forward line gives the team direction and lifts them. Im not talking about having just a big body up there. Im always seeing him getting over and talking to the guys after they do something.. its great..

I question how this bloke didn't make the Top 6 in our leadership group vote. Way ahead of Frawley, and probably Clark too

Have you ever thought that Dawes being the intelligent bloke he is, let it be known he wasn't interesed in being in a leadership position until he got himself right and could lead?

You need to have talked to both Frawley and Clark to know why, Frawely always gives out the impression 'big country kid', underneath that is one decent human being and natural leader, Clark had charisma and body language that made you want to follow

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
