congrats to Christian Salem and its well deserved after great form at Casey

Goodes back for the Swans, makes it a tough ask.

If he plays. And how about late withdrawal L Franklin - bent fender ?

Great Salem is in, but id rather a Blease or Clisby than Byrnes.

Jamar in and Spencer out. Where is the progress in that. I know Spencer isn't great but jamar just lumbers about getting in everyones way. He is also an old fossil compared to Spencer.

Would be a fair way to sum up how Spencer gets around the ground. He deserved to miss out, 2 out of the last 3 games he has been smashed.

What's on? From here to Eternity. Crying Game. Maybe the replay of Juan Antonio Samaranch " The Winner is Sydenee"

It'll be confusing for us here in Melbourne if "North by Northwest" is on the other channel when we're playing in Darwin.

How about the Gregory Peck / Ava Gardiner version of "On the Beach" depicting theend of life as we know it, in Melbourne.

Nostalgically, it was made at a time when MFC was undispudely THE dominant force in (the then) VFL!

The tackle machine dropped. Where to now?

After such a rubbish effort last week, he did not deserve to be in the team.

The rest of the boys need to pick their act up.

Also isnt the tackle machine Cross? he loves a good tackle

He will at least give our mids more opportunity to get their hands on the pill. Spencil has been good with the tackling and one percenters but Jamar is an upgrade in what is the fundamental role of a ruckman.

Him and Salem are pretty exciting ins for mine.

Any word on what his nickname is yet?

A name like Christian Salem deserves an awesome nickname.

...and it'll probably end up being "Sales".

Bleasey - I'd like to see him return soon, as he can add plenty - but he's been asked to keep building his form and defensive game. If he can put himself in contention - then he could be a fine addition. Matt. From the website. Good im glad they are getting him to work on that even though im pretty sure Neeld tried to get him to work harder on his defence.

On a side note how good is moloney going. Got dropped this week. Cant even stay in a bottom side team

Judging by the VFL report, Byrnes was the other shining light along with Salem. Clisby is hardly in competition with either for a spot.

I don't particularly rate Byrnes, but right now he appears to be a long way ahead of Blease. That has to be a big worry for anyone that hasn't already given up on Blease.

Well witch would be obvious but wrong gender. We have had a wizard -- Conjuror is a mouthful ... How about Magician?

This.

After last weeks display, Im disappointed that Jack Watts wasnt dropped.

Im a Watts fan to tell the truth, but I felt embarrassed for him on his slow jog, arms slightly extended, acting interested, [censored] non-effort.

Was just flat out never going to happen.

Watts to tag Goodes?

not possible

I too think he should have been dropped. I feel no animosity of any sort towards Jack, but I just think it is sending the wrong message to the squad when a guy who acts like that on the field is kept in the side. It completely undermines all of Roos' talk about culture if he's willing to negotiate on the non-negotiables to accommodate a talented player. The entire point of his message is that he doesn't care about your draft position or natural talent, only the effort you put in, and by that measure Jack fell well short and should have been dropped.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: West Coast

Epic battle alert.  This Sunday, Casey Fields hosts a coach’s showdown pitting the wits of the master Mick Stinear (92 games, 71.7% win rate) against his protégé Daisy Pearce (16 games, 43.8%). Still early in her coaching journey, Daisy’s record doesn’t yet reflect her impact — but she’s already the best-performed coach at West Coast.Dais’ is mythic.  Like Katniss Everdeen, everyone either wants to kiss her, kill her (sporting metaphor) or be her.  Toothers Daisy Pearce is a role model, someone admired for their heart, humility and humour.

  • AFLW REPORT: Port Adelaide

Well, that was a shock. The Demons 4-game unbeaten run came to a grinding halt in a tense, scrappy affair at the sunny, windy Alberton Oval, with the Power holding on for a 2-point win. The Dees had their chances—plenty of them—but couldn't convert when it mattered most. Port’s tackling pressure rattled the Dees, triggering a fumble frenzy and surprising lack of composure from seasoned players.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Port Adelaide

The undefeated Demons venture across the continent to the spiritual home of the Port Adelaide Football Club on Saturday afternoon for the inaugural match for premiership points between these long-historied clubs. Alberton Oval will however, be a ground familiar to our players following a practice match there last year. We lost both the game and Liv Purcell, who missed 7 home and away matches after suffering facial fractures in the dying moments of the game.

  • AFLW REPORT: Richmond

A glorious sunny afternoon with a typically strong Casey Fields breeze favouring the city end greeted this round four clash of the undefeated Narrm against the winless Tigers. Pre-match, the teams entered the ground through the Deearmy’s inclusive banner—"Narrm Football Weaving Communities Together and then Warumungu/Yawuru woman and Fox Boundary Rider, Megan Waters, gave the official acknowledgement of country. Any concerns that Collingwood’s strategy of last week to discombobulate the Dees would be replicated by Ryan Ferguson and his Tigers evaporated in the second quarter when Richmond failed to use the wind advantage and Narrm scored three unanswered goals.

  • CASEY: Frankston

The late-season run of Casey wins was broken in their first semifinal against Frankston in a heartbreaking end at Kinetic Stadium on Saturday night that in many respects reflected their entire season. When they were bad, they committed all of the football transgressions, including poor disposal, indiscipline, an inability to exert pressure, and some terrible decision-making, as exemplified by the period in the game when they conceded nine unanswered goals from early in the second quarter until halfway through the third term. You rarely win when you do this.
