wow... This is a very helpful list... Thanks for posting this information...

From this list, the players that stand out to me are....

Nat Fyfe

Adam Goodes

Tom Mitchell

Andrew Gaff

Shaun Burgoyne

Harley Bennell

Matthew Pavlich

Corey Enright

James Kelly

Levi Casboult

Pretty sure Burgoyne signed a new contract for Hawks, so did Bennell for GC.

Pav will either retire or play one more year, if he plays on no way will it be for anyone but Freo.

Enright, Kelly, Goodes, no thanks. We're trying to build this team's future, old guys who will only stay for a year or two won't do the trick.

Fyfe/Mitchell I'd love at the Dees, Gaff would be handy and Levi could be anything.

I think him being overlooked in his first draft, has put him in a very good place for a competitor. he's a beauty.

Who?

zaharakis.

...are you sure he was overlooked in his first draft? I don't think that's right.

How did Bryce Gibbs' contract talks go? Would be handy off a half back flank

We need another big key forward to replace Clarke. We need a 40-50 goal forward.

Coniglio... he is a star. BOG agst the Blues.

Yep, one of Shiel or Coniglio would help build our midfield. Though if Frawley were to leave and we get good compensation, i'd rather trade the pick for a ready KPP and draft a mid.

Then again it depends on what KPP's would be left come our pick. Wouldn't be too bad if Durdin was available at our pick and we were able to also bring in Shiel/Coniglio.

Look hard at Hawthorn reserves(Box Hill)

Grimley is big, strong, aggressive, and skilled.

There's no likelihood of regular senior selection.... their forward line is settled .

Hallihan is a tough "in and under" midfielder with little hope of regular AFL selection in the foreseeable future.

I met Jordan Kelly, and he intimated to me that a few of their players are frustrated with being regularly in the best, with little hope of promotion.

Overlooked in 2007 when 17 y/o's were still eligible to be taken in the main draft. Hawthorn were very keen and were set to take him in the third round, but Clarkson was dead set on getting Stuart Dew in and overruled the recruiters. Most recruiters were happy to have another year to look at him.

I really want to clear this up, doesn't seem to get in anyones head.

JUST BECAUSE POSTERS ON DEMONLAND SAY IT DOESN'T MAKE IT A RUMOUR!

Well, it does make it a rumour, it just doesn't make it true.

I think so, pretty sure. When I was watching him at the 'G', Vic-Metro v Vic-Country; I remember hearing about him, or was it reading about him in the record? that he was overlooked the year before, and had come out all guns blazing that draft year, to achieve his dream.

my picks were Zarharakis, & Blease as running players. Blease with more pace. Zarharakis was more of a smart runner, had a step to his game.... as it turns out with the more congested nature of the game since that year, that Zarharakis step is very handy in traffic.

I went to watch Hurley, & noticed Watts as well for the first time.

Isn't that how we got Brett Lovett.

and Clarkson was right on. Dew was the man. .... and I wanted us to go after him, around 2005ish.. incredibly surprised when he announced his retirement the first time. I always liked his strong game, he was a favourite along with Shaun Burgoyne back around 2004/6.

As ive said numerous times on these sorts of threads, and yesterday proved me right again.

We are desperate for some outside speed.

Our midfield is still a way off, even if it has improved a bit. We lack serious midfield depth.

Roos will be targeting more gun onballers no doubt

Our KPP stocks are fine

A couple of Demonland Trackwatchers braved the rain and headed down to Gosch's paddock to bring you their observations from the second day of Preseason training for the 1st to 4th Year players. DITCHA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I attended some of the training today. Richo spoke to me and said not to believe what is in the media, as we will good this year. Jefferson and Kentfield looked big and strong.  Petty was doing all the training. Adams looked like he was in rehab.  KE

2024 Player Reviews: #1 Steven May

The years are rolling by but May continued to be rock solid in a key defensive position despite some injury concerns. He showed great resilience in coming back from a nasty rib injury and is expected to continue in that role for another couple of seasons. It was another strong season from McVee who spent most of his time mainly at half back but he also looked at home on a few occasions when he was moved into the midfield.
