Players to target at the end of the year

Really I know I shouldn't do this to the less fortunate but from the Frawley thread Post #2045 which responded to your post of

Average disposals 12 per game…..i wouldn't be giving anything higher then a 5th rounder for this kid

You look absolutely silly here.. why?

Daniel Talia who just won Adelaides best and fairest and in the All Australian 40 squad averages 11.8 disaposals per game this year. He played all 22 games.

I would happily give up first round draft pick.

and your response was

Olisik

He was taken in the rookie draft and you would want to give up pick 2 or 3 for him?

So I'm not making sh%t up nor deluded, you're just playing silly buggers or were to dumb to realise Dazzle was talking about Talia even though he actually named the player for you

I'll make a note not to listen to Olisik

Which player was the link about? Frost or Talia?

You need to just move on, the only poster people are judging is you, olisik.

You are the one that read it wrong, and the one with the terrible point about key defenders.

Slink away, don't attack.

Would pick 2 get you O'Rourke, Jaksch and Frost from GWS if you threw in say Blease, who is a good mate of the $7m man and/or a later pick.

Pick 2 would get them Petracca if Saints pass on him.

None of the GWS guys I named is a star but all could have good careers with us.

Problem could be if Saints took Petracca then GWS could take Brayshaw and 2 best mids are gone.

Trading for pick 3 if we get it, could solve that problem if we promised not to take Petracca.

Other possibility is if we get a PP even say at about 20 we could trade for O'Rourke and Frost and get a lower pick back.

That would leave higher picks to trade 1 and use the other in draft.

I agree with what you say, but the thing is even if we trade pick 3 and promise not to take petracca the possibility of saints taking him with 1 is still the same. GWS would have to somehow find out what the saints plans are first.

IF we are to trade pick 2, it has to be for a proven young gun, but who would want to risk trading a known quality for what is unknown- there would have to be some kind of go home factor involved.

I think trading pick 2 away is too risky for the reasons you outlined- we could miss out on both the gun midfielders. I think the move to make would be floating pick 3 for whoever wants a bite at one of the talls. Dogs or Blues may be interested in trade of a player and first round picks. Dogs have one go the lowest rankings for marks inside 50 in the legue.

Must hold on to 2 unless a trade involving a mid that's too good to refuse comes into play (unlikely). Pick 3 is the go for me.

Assuming we even get pick 3, that is

Rather than starting a seperate topic some tragic news coming out of Perth at the moment in regard to a player who was mentioned as a possible target for next season.

Anthony Morabito looks to have done his knee again, tragedy if true just couldn't get his body right

Feel for Morabito - doesn't seem fair when this happens to him and other players seem to take their careers for granted e.g Sylvia

.... what?

Horrible news for Morabito, was going to be an absolute gun a few years back and now he may never play again. Just tragic.

Heard this a few minutes ago 'Pennant', how many times do you keep fronting up to rehab? He may have been a chance this weekend too depending on Ballantyne.

He looked the goods early on, can he keep going...who knows, hope something works out for him.

Proof read wouldn't go astray Daz!

Really feel for Morabito, but that's footy I suppose.

cheers.

Latest report is no structural damage for Morabito, good to hear the kid needs a bit of luck

Surely we would be one of the clubs throwing the kitchen sink at Jake Carlisle.

Why not, if they want Clark seems like a good swap.

I would give them Clark and pick 3 if I had to, and pay Carlisle what he wants. He is bloody good and only going to get better.

I'd go down the road of the get out clause before offering anything up for him

Yep, I guess my point is more about them chasing Clark. Happy to get compensated for Clark and take Carlisle for nix.

Not sure where to put this, but:

Bit of news out of @melbournefc , they've put a lot of work into blease (pick 17), but I understand he wants a trade to @CarltonFC #afl

Thoughts? He was probably going to be delisted anyway, but would you be happy with a late pick or is there a (realistic) trade for a player we would go for IF this tweet turns out to be true?

We may get a half eaten pie and a first choice orange cutter in exchange for him ;).

Blease Tapscott and Strauss were all told in their exit interviews that we will try to on trade them.
If unsuccessful, they will reassess.

Blease has been talking to Carlton for a while, and Strauss has also had some chats.

So if we get anything for those 3, its a bonus

Grow up mate, poor form.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: West Coast

Epic battle alert.  This Sunday, Casey Fields hosts a coach’s showdown pitting the wits of the master Mick Stinear (92 games, 71.7% win rate) against his protégé Daisy Pearce (16 games, 43.8%). Still early in her coaching journey, Daisy’s record doesn’t yet reflect her impact — but she’s already the best-performed coach at West Coast.Dais’ is mythic.  Like Katniss Everdeen, everyone either wants to kiss her, kill her (sporting metaphor) or be her.  Toothers Daisy Pearce is a role model, someone admired for their heart, humility and humour.

  • AFLW REPORT: Port Adelaide

Well, that was a shock. The Demons 4-game unbeaten run came to a grinding halt in a tense, scrappy affair at the sunny, windy Alberton Oval, with the Power holding on for a 2-point win. The Dees had their chances—plenty of them—but couldn't convert when it mattered most. Port’s tackling pressure rattled the Dees, triggering a fumble frenzy and surprising lack of composure from seasoned players.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Port Adelaide

The undefeated Demons venture across the continent to the spiritual home of the Port Adelaide Football Club on Saturday afternoon for the inaugural match for premiership points between these long-historied clubs. Alberton Oval will however, be a ground familiar to our players following a practice match there last year. We lost both the game and Liv Purcell, who missed 7 home and away matches after suffering facial fractures in the dying moments of the game.

  • AFLW REPORT: Richmond

A glorious sunny afternoon with a typically strong Casey Fields breeze favouring the city end greeted this round four clash of the undefeated Narrm against the winless Tigers. Pre-match, the teams entered the ground through the Deearmy’s inclusive banner—"Narrm Football Weaving Communities Together and then Warumungu/Yawuru woman and Fox Boundary Rider, Megan Waters, gave the official acknowledgement of country. Any concerns that Collingwood’s strategy of last week to discombobulate the Dees would be replicated by Ryan Ferguson and his Tigers evaporated in the second quarter when Richmond failed to use the wind advantage and Narrm scored three unanswered goals.

  • CASEY: Frankston

The late-season run of Casey wins was broken in their first semifinal against Frankston in a heartbreaking end at Kinetic Stadium on Saturday night that in many respects reflected their entire season. When they were bad, they committed all of the football transgressions, including poor disposal, indiscipline, an inability to exert pressure, and some terrible decision-making, as exemplified by the period in the game when they conceded nine unanswered goals from early in the second quarter until halfway through the third term. You rarely win when you do this.
