Right now he is the only one on the park with the exception of Blease.

Blease was not in the top five at windy hill.

IMO Jetta was the best scorpion that day and literally won the game off his own boot.

Was again in the top three last weekend.

Of the listed four only Blease has played what I consider a top three game at Senior level.

That was one game I remember when he kicked five goals I think against St Kilda, other wise the odd good quarter.

All four of them are out of contract this year.

Jetta is playing and has been in Casey's top three in both games.

Strauss and Tapscott are doing their normal sit in the outer with us.

Right now Jetta is the one with the results on the board.

After four matches he is so far in front he cannot hear the band IMO.

So, at the end of the day, he impacts a VFL game? It ain't AFL.....has run out of chances.

Not good enough.

On that basis we need not play Strauss or Tapscott at AFL level whenever they are fit enough as they have done no more.

I don't necessarily disagree with you on all four.

But I will say again.

right now in 2014 Jetta is the only one showing form that would suggest he should play at AFL level.

Fair enough.

I suppose your feelings on Jetta are similar to mine on Strauss....I want this young man to come good.

At this stage Jetta has been the best performed player at Casey. Many on her believe players should not be promoted to the seniors until they are performing consistently at Casey. Jetta should on this basis be the first choice replacement for Terlich if he does not come up this week.

Stronger teams 'best performed' is sometimes two seasons.

He's played 2 games and he gets a call up?

I think that if Terlich doesn't come up, Jimmy T should get a call up. He's the future.

If you take into account the practice games it's actually 4 games. I think Jimmy T needs to play more game to boost his confidence in his own ability before he regains his place. Make him hungry for his next chance and super confident that he deserves his place.

Practice matches are friendly and bruise free.

I think Jimmy T is hungry....and ready to grow.

Jetta has been on the list for 4 or 5 years and has had enough chances.

I don't think it comes down to the number of chances but fielding the best team available

Jetta has been on the list playing under some distinguished coaches hey?

He was actually playing well last year up until he got himself suspended. Would not be on the rookie list now if not for that act trashing what was looking like a good season IMO

Hmmm...I too worry about Tapscott getting out on the park as I really like him as a player clearly but its starting to appear he is very injury prone...

It will take a miracle to keep Tappy on the list. Injury has limited his opportunities, but he hasn't done enough with the opportunities he's had. We have to delist at least five - I think he and Nicho are gone. Perhaps Pedo too, but I'm not sure of that.

Tappy is most certainly on the chopping block at years end. Definitely one of our failures to develop, shame to because he does possess some decent weapons but he is yet another lumbering slow player.

Who knows the year is young, he has it all to do though.

Pedersen has another year to run on his contract and if Frawley stays forward he may be a regular down back.

I am not trying to be smart Pates but what are they?

This is what I struggle with I don't know what is his weapon, I see nil.

In fairness, Tapscott slipped on a sprinkler cover early on, I don't think he was recruited with injuries.

Leaving that aside he has been out for substantial periods every year he has been at the MFC.

This year was the first time he has had a good pre season then breaks down in early March and has not been seen since.

This is his fifth year for 45 games.

I think we know what we have.

VFL standard player with a body that cannot take the rigors of AFL

Nah that's a fair question. He has a long accurate kick, which if he played of HBF would allow us to kick over the opposition zone. He is in general an accurate kick, and he possess the ability to throw his weight around with a bit of mongrel (though it's something he doesn't use enough).

I'm not naming him as a star in the making that we stuffed up but we didn't recruit him based on nothing. As I said though, he is very slow and has always struggled to find the pill at AFL level.

I think this is a basic and unsophisticated concept.

Sure, Jones has prospered under a variety of "poor" coaches.

But clearly some players respond to those coaches, otherwise they'd never be in the position to be a senior coach.

I believe some players responded to Bailey's "players' coach" style, while others responded better to Neeld's "disciplinarian" coaching style.

Neither coach had the skills and style to reach and improve all players.

Clearly Roos' approach is tailored and he is better at getting more out of most.

And as for Jones, I think his personal style would see him flourish under any coach, to varying degrees.

It may be ideal to demand the same of every player, but it's not realistic and won't get you results.

A coach like Roos is smart enough to realise that.

I actually don't think thats a bad thing, for how much shite he cops on here, he actually played bloody well last week as a back men, keep him there.

Granted and opinion respected; however, AFL players are drafted based on their willingness to compete and improve. The altruism to get better must be there.

I haven't seen it in Jetta.....nothing against the kid, just not up to it.

Tapscott's in the same boat.

Have you seen Jetta this year?

I only have at training and he looks like he is in the best shape that he has ever been in.

HEAVEN OR HELL by The Oracle

Clashes between Melbourne and St Kilda are often described as battles between the forces of heaven and hell. However, based on recent performances, it’s hard to get excited about the forthcoming match between these two sides. It would be fair to say that, at the moment, both of these teams are in the doldrums. The Demons have become the competition’s slow starters while the Saints are not only slow to begin, they’re not doing much of a job finishing off their games either. About the only th

    THE BLOW by Whispering Jack

Narrm’s finals prospects took a crushing blow after the team’s insipid performance at Optus Stadium against a confident Waaljit Marawar in the first of its Doug Nicholls Round outings for 2024.  I use the description “crushing blow” advisedly because, although the season is not yet at it’s halfway mark, the Demons have now failed abysmally in two of their games against teams currently occupying bottom eight places on the ladder.  The manner in which these losing games were played out w

HALF FULL by KC from Casey

It was a case of the Casey Demons going into a game with a glass half full in their match up against the Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields on Saturday. As the list of injured and unavailable AFL and VFL listed players continues to grow and with Melbourne taking all three emergencies to Perth for the weekend on a “just in case” basis, its little brother was always destined to struggle. Casey was left with only eight AFL listed players from who to select their team but only two - an out-of-form

GAMEDAY: Rd 10 vs West Coast

It's Game Day and the Demons have returned to the site of their drought breaking Premiership to take on the West Coast Eagles in what could very well be a danger game for Narrm at Optus Stadium. A win and a percentage boost will keep the Dees in top four contention whilst a loss will cast doubt on the Dees flag credentials and bring them back to the pack fighting for a spot in the 8 as we fast approach the halfway point of the season.

    WARNING by William from Waalitj

As a long term resident of Waalitj Marawar, I am moved to warn my fellow Narrm fans that a  danger game awaits. The locals are no longer the easybeats who stumbled, fumbled and bumbled their way to the good fortune of gathering the number one draft pick and a generational player in Harley Reid last year. They are definitely better than they were then.   Young Harley has already proven his worth with some stellar performances for a first year kid playing among men. He’s taken hangers, k
