i don't see the value in playing Byrnes, we have alternatives that offer just as much and still have the potential to come on and be damaging players in the future, Byrnes offers experience and not much else, would have been better off with brad Green still hanging out in a forward pocket

I agree wholeheartedly with this, but there has to be some leeway when you have a skeleton of a forward line.

What I think we would all want to see is the continued improvement and effort across the board. Are we close to breaking even in all the key statistics? Are we having a fair dinkum crack? The Eagles are up and about and have no major injuries, something we unfortunately have in spades. I'm looking for the midfield to break even and for the entire side to run themselves into the ground trying to stop the Weagles. I think it's all we can ask for going in to this one.

He can't keep getting games because he's played more than 100, if it worked that way KB & Tucky would still be in great demand.

He's past it and was when we picked him up unfortunately.

Ricky was always a good player, had a few injuries in his last two years at Melbourne, where he couldnt be at his best,my son still has rickys number 15 on his jumper,was our fave at the dees.

Ricky was a great example of our failure to develop players from potential into a player. Showed so much promise in 2010 and we just expected him to continue his development and failed to recognise we still actually have to build him into something. One of a long list of players we've failed.

Still can't get my head around getting rid of players like Ricky and keeping Nicho, Strauss etc.

Cheney actually gets more games for Hawthorn because they can keep him in the team and play to his positives. I doubt we could. He's a similar player to Georgiou anyway and you'd only want one of them. If we could get the luxury of playing guys like Cheney without fear we'd be a great team like Hawthorn are.

Petterd's different because his positional flexibility has been really important just when the game changed like that. But he's also a liability with ball in hand. Still he's hard as nails. Glad he's having some success at Richmond.

Wasn't a chest mark

Was a reaching overhead mark because Bail's looping left foot kick let the ball hang in the air so to avoid to spoiler Petterd extended to reach for it.

As for the bench - Matt Jones, Evans, Blease, Kent, JHK, Michie and Byrnes it's take your pic. Really would like Byrnes not to play but if they pick him I'm really over it too much to care.

Think Matt Jones did enough to keep his spot and whilst he wasn't great I'd be keen for Michie to stay in the side. Blease was apparently the best at Casey. And I'd probably like to see Kent play as the sub but wouldn't mind Evans or JKH either.
