i could ask you the same question. Pathetic .

Now now boys calm down.

Just remember the white will work well this weekend

Maybe we should wear white every week until we win a game?

I think that following the rules of virginity would be apt.

Amazing that Collingwood have been allowed to wear their predominantly black jumper against Carlton tonight. AfL have.rules for some

It has always been that way. The strong rule. The weak merely exist.

hence my initial point. we need to stand up on this issue

agreed we can't wear red as a clash because apparently it is dark in colour but Suns red is not dark when they play us

Pies wear their dark jumper against Bombers traditional strip on Anzac day

I say give them nothing it may be a small issue but stop being a pushover

I, too, was gobsmacked to see the Pies wear their predominantly black jumper against both Essendon & Carlton over the past two weeks. In both games they were supposedly the away team. I really don't see why they would be upset about wearing the mainly white one. As Eddie once said, their home jumper is black with white stripes, and their away jumper is white with black stripes. Both look good from a club point of view, but the mainly white one (with the mostly white back) is quite acceptable as a contrast to the Essendon & Carlton jumpers.

Yep, as it was made plain in the classic "Animal Farm", we may all be pigs. But, not all pigs are equal...!!

I reckon our club which actually represents the city of melbourne and it's environs should be able from time to time wear the jumpers of the dear departed teams aka Fitzroy and South Melbourne as a way of honouring old er Melbourne clubs. Now stay with me on this, we could become Melbourne United and stick it up that jumped up soccer club melbourne city.

Also it would at least partially solve our clash jumper issue.

What a load of rubbish that is...!

I love how people get so up in arms over this.

Do you think we should not be wearing pink next week?

It's not our colours or our jumper?

I think it has helped growing up with English football and to a lesser degree NFL.

no i don't.

Make the stands and arena predominantly pink but the home jumper should be worn imo

Just win today I don't give a rats what jumper they are wearing

Why they may change there away strip but I have followed Everton since 1976 and they have always worn Royal Blue jerseys and white shorts, Liverpool, Man Utd, Man City, Spurs, Chelsea, Arsenal, Wolves, Leeds etc etc they have not changed in that time all still wear the same as they have for years.

The new owner of Cardiff City who the fans want out, came in 2/3 years ago and changed their crest and colours the colours are very important to fans the world over.

and in regard to NFL do a little search on how important it was to the people of Cleveland when the Browns moved to Baltimore and tried to take the name with them, hence the Baltimore Ravens

Perhaps the worst idea in the history of footy.

Yep understand, but we are talking about an away top, not a home top except for a one off every year for cancer.

I meant that people get all antsy about a away top, does not worry me.

Don't mind the white jumper! 2 wins and 2 games against Saints and GWS that we very well could've won with a bit of luck. 0-3 in home games in the red and blue!

Decision is made tm

Red white and blue is now our main jumper.

Out with the read and blue we have spent 50 years losing in that one.

Having a guernsey that was too similar to the Saints guernsey, did not help.

Collingwood did not want to move away from black and white, so they settled upon their white jumper with black stripes, which solves their problems.

If you think wearing white 'makes us look weak and reduces morale' then you obviously don't watch us play. If you did, you'd realise that our ineptitude is what makes us look weak and destroys morale.

Wearing white has nothing to do with anything. It only angers people like you who personally don't like it. The other 99% of the AFL world could not care less.

dear mr tight bottie you missed the point entirely. What makes us look weak and reduces morale is the fact that the club's weak administration allowed the afl to bully them into wearing an assortment of jumpers, particularly when there is no real clash unless you are half blind. A couple of years ago when we played the doggies the umps wore a similar colour to our players, resulting in some of our players aiming hand passes at them!
