Practice Match - Melbourne v Hawthorn @ Casey Fields

Featured Replies

If anyone sees hogan today can u ask him when he thinks he may be back?

this is more than just a practice match

Very important game today for a lot of reasons

Over the last couple of years you got the feeling the team was already beaten before they even ran out. Obviously having your best 22 on the ground goes a long way but that fact that we don't doesn't mean we can't be competitive as we have shown over recent weeks. We are starting to build some real depth on the list. We need a repeat of our effort against the Cats today. Even without our trio of missing talls, if we play like we have been we can be 4 and 1 after 5 rounds. We have enough talent to beat the Saints, Giants, Suns and Carlton. By then our forwards should be looking at returning. Confidence and momentum are important so we need to gain some from today's game.

what time does the game start lads?

1pm I believe it is.

Thanks mate

Guys I'm in Thailand so can't make it. Lots of progress reports/updates in this thread would be much appreciated thanks.

Thailand?

Send my regards to Ketut please.

so there is no way we can watch it online?

I don't think so. Our best bet is someone giving updates on here or following the Dees twitter account.

id prefer here, the dees twitter account isn't as brutally honest.

True, but I don't think they have the freedom to be as brutally honest as we want them to be. They give the score updates pretty quickly but I'll certainly be here for the game summaries from those who went.

Thailand?

Ketut actually lives in Melbourne

Ketut actually lives in Melbourne

Ketut actually lives in Melbourne

there are a lot of ketuks in thailand stuie

just like there are lots of stuies in scotland

Just get through with no injuries

Could have sworn Ketut was Balinese

Early update is Hawks 6, us 0. Howe and Trengove have both had shots on goal but not scored from either. Not much else to go on at this stage.

Thailand?

Send my regards to Ketut please.

I don't think Bali is in Thailand... besides, I heard Ketut is living in Ringwood.

score is 7 - 1 in Hawks favour after 10 mins... Trengove had a set shot but put it out on the full.

  • AFLW REPORT: Port Adelaide

Well, that was a shock. The Demons 4-game unbeaten run came to a grinding halt in a tense, scrappy affair at the sunny, windy Alberton Oval, with the Power holding on for a 2-point win. The Dees had their chances—plenty of them—but couldn't convert when it mattered most. Port’s tackling pressure rattled the Dees, triggering a fumble frenzy and surprising lack of composure from seasoned players.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Port Adelaide

The undefeated Demons venture across the continent to the spiritual home of the Port Adelaide Football Club on Saturday afternoon for the inaugural match for premiership points between these long-historied clubs. Alberton Oval will however, be a ground familiar to our players following a practice match there last year. We lost both the game and Liv Purcell, who missed 7 home and away matches after suffering facial fractures in the dying moments of the game.

  • AFLW REPORT: Richmond

A glorious sunny afternoon with a typically strong Casey Fields breeze favouring the city end greeted this round four clash of the undefeated Narrm against the winless Tigers. Pre-match, the teams entered the ground through the Deearmy’s inclusive banner—"Narrm Football Weaving Communities Together and then Warumungu/Yawuru woman and Fox Boundary Rider, Megan Waters, gave the official acknowledgement of country. Any concerns that Collingwood’s strategy of last week to discombobulate the Dees would be replicated by Ryan Ferguson and his Tigers evaporated in the second quarter when Richmond failed to use the wind advantage and Narrm scored three unanswered goals.

  • CASEY: Frankston

The late-season run of Casey wins was broken in their first semifinal against Frankston in a heartbreaking end at Kinetic Stadium on Saturday night that in many respects reflected their entire season. When they were bad, they committed all of the football transgressions, including poor disposal, indiscipline, an inability to exert pressure, and some terrible decision-making, as exemplified by the period in the game when they conceded nine unanswered goals from early in the second quarter until halfway through the third term. You rarely win when you do this.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecast—20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze — expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.
