Do you seriously think that a proven coach and developer of player like Mr Roos would re engage Neville if he felt he was a lost cause?

Roos obviously sees something that Neville hasn't produced, and that his previous coaches have been unable to get out.

It will be an interesting excercise but I look forward to seeing how the season develops for Nev.

My thoughts exactly. Some are dismissive of "In Roos we trust", but it's not a bad default position to take.

Even Nev's critics can't deny that he has a genuine crack, so I hope Roos can get him to his potential.

The last few players on your list is the place to punt; we have picked up two raw mids (Hunt and Harms), a beanpole (King), an ungainly medium defender (Georgiou), and a tough, hard if limited midfielder that we know quite well (Jetta).

If your argument is that we 'know' he cannot become anything, then you should have that view of any delisted player being picked up by this club. Maybe their is a role that Roos sees him a chance of fulfilling.

You can't say that Watts or Trengove will find their way under Roos while dismissing the improvement of players you don't think are any good.

Played a ripping game in Darwin all those years ago and had us believing that we had found a player. Not sure what happened since.

As you say low risk and he has impacted games at senior level before, He would have been given some conditions to meet in the off season and has obviously held up his end.

Probably not going to make it but no less a chance than some other unknown from a minor league.

Nev brings some of those qualities we speak about with the other boys hes a great character and he works very hard. He just hasnt had that continuity with pre-seasons under his belt. [Redrafting him again] was pretty simple for us.

Just about says it all, I actually spoke to him a couple of weeks ago, club had said they obviously need midfielders, they were pleased with his last 6 weeks at Casey but he was sort of last cab off the rank, they delisted and told him to keep training, he intimated to me that the Club would rookie him, but paraphrase "but it is a business these days, so I can only train as hard as I can"......I asked Jade Rawlings and he said "he had a really good last six weeks, we'll see how he goes"......to me that meant it was always the plan to rooke him

Nev if he gets a run at it may thrive, if not in another year he is gone, where is the issue, we got rid of Magner much to everybody's horror this year, wonder if it will be the same next year

By the way Nev's best spot is off the half back flank, never been able to settle there, anybody who watched the last couple of Casey finals will have seen that, he was Casey's best in the last game playing there

Aabsolutely...if he can find the path to enable the step up he could be wheels ver 2....very very handy.. I shant hold breath...but you can hope.

It's our last rookie pick, who cares. Some of you are reacting like we used pick 9 on him.

And it's not like he's a complete spud, he's played a couple of very good games at AFL level, which most rookies will never do. Yeah he's had 5 years, but none of them under Roos. Even if he doesn't crack another game, won't be scratch on Roos' record.

I trust the club but personally I see no positive aspects for Jetta. There is not one skill he possesses which is worthy of considering afl standard. Harsh but true. Still I have less information to base my opinion so if Roos made the decision then i trust him (only just though)

He will play AFL next year, I rate him ahead of Strauss, Nicholson and not far behind Clisby for that small defender role.

I thought he was playing great up until he got suspended midyear. After his suspension, he couldn't get a look-in for weeks and when he finally came bake he looked terrible. It was a real shame, but I'm glad he has been given another shot.

Well, you're pulling whatever Jolly can bring as a leader/mentor out of your arse so let's call it a draw...

2. His tackling and agility/sidestep are towards to top of our talent

3. Whilst he's been on the list for ages he's never had consistent preseasons

4. It's nice to have a more experienced Indigenous player. And I don't mean that as a reason why I'd keep him but now we have kept him it's a positive

And mainly

5. He was the final round of the rookie draft. When you see what we got in the third round and even from the third round of the main draft we were taking athletic smokies so we clearly didn't have a lot of names left on the list.

I don't rate him at all, but I truly hope Roos and co can get him playing good football. I highly doubt it, but I hope.

If we were going to re-draft a never was we mind as well have taken Heath Scotland. At least he was a has been and still might influence a couple games next year

Well i am glad he i has been given another crack. I will always remember him smashing brent stanton in 2011 with a superb hip and shoulder he also kicked 2 sausage rolls

I liked it a lot down to here ...

I think he's good at finding space in traffic (agility/sidestep), and his ball use isn't bad.

And like one or two others, he seems to take 2 or 3 games to get into stride and show his best. His trouble has been that he's rarely been able to string more than 4 or 5 games together before getting injured or suspended.

He'll never be in the top level of the midfield, but as the 9th or 10th mid + flanker/winger, he can make a solid contribution.

Having said that, if he can't string a number of good games together in 2014, he's toast. But he's worth another crack, especially under a better (i.e. non-c-rap) coaching and development structure.
