Crouch avgs 38 possessions a game, and people are talking about Salem instead.

Prenderghastly must have a few relatives on demonland.

There are the 4 players in this draft that will play 200 games;

Scharenberg

Sheed

Freeman

Crouch

These guys are the grouse. Don't worry about the rest. These are the blokes that like the taste of battle.

I'd be happy with any of those 3 (Scharenberg will obviously be gone) or Dunstan. Meat and potatoes this year please, not high ceilings and draft camp kings. Agree Crouch seems to be undervalued a bit (although haven't seen enough for informed view). 38 ppg is outrageous.

Tell that to Todd viney, Ron barassi and Jimmy stynes.

Tell what to them? That you don't have a clue what you're on about?

I don't think they'd need me to tell them...

No,

The MOST important facet of a footballer, is the ability to get the ball. Whether it be inside, outside, or taking marks. If you have the innate ability to get heaps of the ball, then you are worth gold.

This is the biggest load of crap I have read. You can get the ball 100 times, but if you can't hit a target not only are you useless you are actually detrimental to the team.

Why is Crouch's draft profile on the MFC website?

Can only guess they'll roll a number of profiles through the site. He certainly inst in line for 9 I'm thinking

Why is Crouch's draft profile on the MFC website?

Lack of content this time of year.

Unless you think the recruiting dept & the digital media dept have got together, and hatched a plan to give supporters hints of who we hope to take in the lead up to the draft.

Yep, that's much more likely.

Pick 9 – MELBOURNE Nathan-Freeman-200x300.jpg

Nathan Freeman

Club: Sandringham Dragons
D.O.B.: 16.6.1995
Height: 182cm
Weight: 85kg

Another draft bolter heading up the order, is Nathan Freeman whose draft combine was superb. Freeman ranked number one overall in the repeat sprints, second in the 20-metre sprint – running 2.82 seconds, whilst coming tenth overall in the beep test (14.10) and three-kilometre time-trial. Freeman is best described as a Patrick Dangerfield type, in that his breakaway speed and ability to roam off a pack ranks him in the elite category. A noted goal-kicker, Freeman’s best attributes are his ability to impact the scoreboard whilst offering good composure with the football, and strong marking all over the ground. What I love about Freeman is his ability to change direction quickly, and pirouette around an opponent to add a touch of flamboyancy along with his class. Although his engine needs a bit work, if Freeman can develop into more of an endurance player, his outside game will benefit in leaps and bounds as at the moment he is a little inconsistent with his disposal numbers. He’d really add a new dimension to a one-paced Melbourne midfield and would become a lynchpin of the Dees’ midfield for another decade to come.

Other Prospects: There could be a possibility that the Dees opt to take classy left-footer Christian Salem here, or even Matthew Scharenberg if he slips this far. There is a distinct possibility that Marcus Bontempelli could still be here, in that case the Dees would think heavily about stealing him before Collingwood swoop

I really hope we get this kid. Explosive speed is exactly what we need through our midfield and from his highlights reel it looks as though he is a specialist at getting the ball, evading opponents, and delivering it effectively into our forward 50. I reckon Mitch, Dawesy and The Hulk would love to see him bursting out of the middle in the red and blue, and so would I.

My mate saw him (Freeman) play 4 times this year. He said "the kid just knows how to find the footy. He has explosive pace and a real angry competitive streak. He could do a bit of brushing up on his disposal but gave him a chill up his spine every time he got the ball!" Angry competitiveness is what I would like to see!

Ben Lennon is our man: tall, big, a brilliant kick, great engine, a terrific mark, and has the best kick for goal accuracy in the draft. Do it Melbourne.

Sources say mid 13s beep and 3.20s for 20m - nothing flash.

And the recruiter only gets what, 2 minutes, to call the name on draft day....or will they accept a number and initials?? :-)

I cringe everytime SOS gets to call out a name so i can predict GWS has hired a prompter to sit beside him

but alas he will probably still say Alex Jesaulenko

2024 Player Reviews: #36 Kysaiah Pickett

The Demons’ aggressive small forward who kicks goals and defends the Demons’ ball in the forward arc. When he’s on song, he’s unstoppable but he did blot his copybook with a three week suspension in the final round.
