The big "Russian" has never been able to recover the stellar form of 2010, injuries curtailing his season once again in 2013.

Absolutely one trick pony - tap ruckman whose high stat sheet hit outs don't even create clearances, or even reach his teammates. Offers nothing around the ground.

Sandilands didn't have a great GF but I watched with interest his accurate taps to advantage, and especially his second efforts in the clearances, as well as a presence around the ground. Never saw any of that from Mark, sadly.

That another older Ruck is being mentioned in association with us is of curiosity in regard to Mark.

Never quite regained that form of his AA.

Strangely though if Jolly was to come Id keep Russian and trade the Pencil as he would have more value and look to bring Gawn on. Draft another kid to groom for later.

Though not influential any more he can keep the opposition honest, sometimes thats enough if your crumbers are up and alive.

That is exactly what Hawthorn do with their ruckman, the difference is they have a great lot of midfield players and we have ...........

ahhh...but what if that improved markedly ?? changes the need ruckwise...at least for a year or so.

Jamar is contracted I believe til end of 15. Keep him..use his as needed. As many suggest his trade worth isnt that huge though a younger aspirant's would be. So why not capitalise on that value...and now.

still..its just me here in the left field :)

I agree with you bb

Not sure there is anyone who would give anything of value .

There is a reason we fell into two wins in 2013.

The immediate reaction of most clubs is we have a lot of ordinary players on our list.

IMO he has had one good season and a couple of serviceable years.

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi

    WILDCARDS by KC from Casey

Casey’s season continued to drift into helplessness on Sunday when they lost another home game by a narrow margin, this time six points, in their Round 13 clash with North Melbourne’s VFL combination. The game was in stunning contrast to their last meeting at the same venue when Casey won the VFL Wildcard Match by 101 points. Back then, their standout players were Brodie Grundy and James Jordon who are starring in the AFL with ladder leaders, the Sydney Swans (it turned out to be their last

    LIFE SUPPORT by Whispering Jack

With Melbourne’s season hanging on a thread, Saturday night’s game against North Melbourne unfolded like a scene in a hospital emergency department.  The patient presented to the ward in a bad way. Doctors and nurses pumped life-saving medication into his body and, in the ensuing half hour, he responded with blood returning to his cheeks as he stirred back to life. After a slight relapse, the nurses pumped further medication into the bloodstream and the prognosis started looking good as the
