I like this guy and think he would work well for us, but why delist Magner and get another mature aged recruit?

I don't think Roos will recruit anymore, he will keep Jones but thats about it.

Because Cain and Magner have very different attributes..?

Like pace, ability to hit a target...

It's not that hard to figure out.

Different players. Different circumstance.

There are still gems out there that are yet to be unearthed.

Cain was an unbelievable player when I played with him through 16's. Some players suit faster-paced football.

Cain's decision making, hands and kicking are impeccable. Magner is a junkyard bulldog who will dive in and come out with the ball but that's all he's got going for him.

I strongly believe Cain will more than hold his own at AFL level and I'm desperate for us to draft him.

Magner got 50 odd disposals one game in the VFL how many times has Cain done that?

I'm all for getting him, but i can't see Roos recruiting him.

Against a 3rd division EDFL side. besides just because he got 50 disposals doesn't automatically mean he is a better player then Cain.

Cain has speed, good kicking skills and overhead mark while Magner is the complete opposite...

With all due respect TDM, disposals shouldn't be a rating attribute of a player. Magner had absolutely no damage with his disposal and it's why he's now on the scrap heap. I thank him for his time, but Cain kicks goals, gets both uncontested and contested footy and is effective by foot.

I'd take that over 35 handballs, 15 kicks 11 ineffective any day.

It's impossible to argue with someone who who places such importance on 'possession count'.

Why do you think Magner didn't get an AFL game after that performance?

I didn't say i don't want him but i don't believe that Roos will pick him.

I would prefer Mitch Honeychurch or Dayle Gartlett if he lasted that long.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
