Go read bay 13 on big footy about tanking then get back to me, they deserve everything coming there way.

Mate, I can just imagine the crap they are saying in the bay, but those types of supporters make up perhaps .1% of the supporter base, and every club has them. The other 99.9% of the essendon supporters are just normal football fans (like Yourself) who are passionate about there club and just want to see there team play each week. They had no control over the use of drugs at there club but ultimately they could pay the price.

Just saw a tweet made by former Demonologist (and perhaps very occasional Demonlander) Graham Gaunt:

Anyone else hear this?

Ah that is all we need now. If Caro gets a scent of this she will be straight on it. Why cant he just keep his trap shut. Wonder if he will have the audacity to turn up at our games.

Fork 'em.

The sooner they fold the better.

This from the bottom of an article on the Herald Sun tonight:

And a former Melbourne footballer claims Mr Charter used to advise several Demons players on what to take to aid performance and recover "like European cyclists".

"He put me on a range of injections and supplements. I didn't know what the f--- I was taking, but my recovery was outstanding," the former player said. "I felt unstoppable some days.

"It cost me $10,000 so it wasn't cheap."

Mr Charter's partner, Donna, last night defended him, saying despite his prison past he was not involved in anything illegal now.

CH 7 News earlier tonight said Woewodin was linked to Mr Charter prior to his link with Hird.

Article from Herald-Sun detailing Woewodin & Hird :- http://www.news.com.au/sport/afl/essendon-coach-james-hird-linked-to-convicted-drug-trafficker-shane-charter/story-fnelctok-1226572461168

PS. Gardner on 2GB? - 2GB?? - I wonder who contacted who....

ASADA have however clearly stated that ignorance is no defence.

& thery can't allow that either.

that would end up being the biggest window, one could back a semi trailer through it & turn it around in a 3 pt turn.

there can not be any easing up in this other than penalties for fessing up.

anyone who doesn't come clean, & has to be tracked down, ah la armstrong,,, shopuld be wiped out!

And we've got people that post here that support that regime?

They ought to be run out of the club.

Stephen Dank openly marketed banned substances

  Quote

Stephen Dank, the football club's performance scientist, co-owns the Sydney-based Medical Rejuvenation Clinic, which boasts "a substantial range of Australian-produced Protein Peptides ... at very competitive prices".

Its website makes special reference to 15 products, including GHRP-6, CJC-1295, IGF-1, SARM, Hexarelin and MGF, which the Therapeutic Goods Administration said were "not registered for use in Australia" and "should not be available for commercial supply or sale".

For someone that refuses to do interviews, he certainly knows how to draw attention to himself.

The fact that someone tweeted this doesn't mean it happened.

I'd like some corroboration that Gardner said these things before I jumped to any conclusions about him or about what was alleged.

I think I've missed something, but the old ASADA chief said that its all up to the laboratory now -if the supplements are found to be fine it'll be ok, but if they're banned then Pandora's box will have been opened.

What substance is he talking about? Have things been confiscated? From where?

They way he conducts himself these days its hard not to jump to conclusions.

Yes Dan, haven't stirred up my Bomber fan mates about this issue...the last thing an Essendon person requires right now is a little needle.

I don't believe there are any AFL clubs that are not tainted by this drug scandal to some degree be it systematic abuse from the club or by individual players. I believe the AFL should take control of approved supplements, medications and substances and ensure all these products are channeled through an organisation or agency under their control. Any substance supplied by outsiders would be strictly forbidden and players and clubs will have no excuses if caught and harsh penalties will be applied for abusers.

I saw that interview on FoxSports News last night.

I thought that too - how did they obtain / confiscate substances from - last year?? Were they the substances used? Or the documented substances that were used??

Surely the other alternative of evidence is the same sort of testimonies and information at large that weighed down on Armstrong. But that could take an eternity for people to come forward.

There's a very real possibility that nothing of concern will be found in "those" substances obtained.

Barndee, I really don't know if your post is taking the pi$$ or not. I hope for your sake it is, but I'm unsure if you would be capable of doing that, given that you totally missed that I was in my post.

Maybe Ess had concerns and had some of the stuff tested themselves. After an adverse finding they fessed up??

Remember something happened in the 48 hours pre the presser to kick start this. It could have been the Govt Report but maybe not.

Remember also that even Government Departments leak, and that there are supposedly phone intercepts that maybe lead to the Bombers camp. Get in on the front foot make it seem as if you've fessed up 'shock horror how could this happen to us?"

Laboratory to test what? Do they think they still have samples of the same stuff that was injected 12 months ago?

I can imagine it now, Bomba going "Uh... there! That's it. This is the stuff they were taking. Yep definitely, that's exactly it. No question. Oh look, it just says it's plain old vitamin B on the label. Sorry to waste your time boys. You can go test it if you want though..."

As HT sorta said.

Yes it's pretty hard to test a drug that was taken 12 months ago!

It will be conducted the same way Lance was done.

He never tested. But people will talk now the whole mess is an open wound.

Just gotta ask the right way.

Herald sun page 7 article 'outlaw drugs up for grabs' (sorry guys can't find it online)

Near the end of the article

He added mr charter would often mention he would have coffee with gangland figure most days.

And a former Melbourne player claim mr carter used to advise several demons players on what to take to aid performance and recover "like European cyclists"

He put me on a range of injections and supplements. I didn't know what the f... I was taking but my recovery was outstanding' I felt unstoppable somedays

'It cost me $10,000 so it wasn't cheap'

I'm on the iPhone so no long analysis from me but looks like it's more widespread than we think and some players (I'm thinking early 2000 after wooey brownlow) from our club have done it in the past especially has we know how clean cycling in Europe has been for the last decade

28 pages and counting, I thought we would have learnt on this board, that nothing is a fact until it is proven

Why was nobody arrested yesterday, why was noboby named simple answer, there is no concrete proof, there are suspicions and probably uncorroborated statements, but not enough to pursue

The Police are now going to use all their resources to try and prove

ASADA are hoping that if they shake the tree hard enough something will fall out, similar to the Lance Armstrong situation

I will wring my hands and be disgusted if and when a present day Melbourne player or official is suspended, banned, arrested for using/administering performance enhancing drugs

The rest is what we have all become used to, the media creating the story

I can't wait for the footy to start and then we can talk about the footy

God I hate this stuff...........How far do we have to look back and ask weather the winners of the grand final were on drugs?????

Any winning teams are now under suspicion and it will just spoil the footy for me.....

After so many years of being crap,if we improve to much this year the suspicion will be on us...

What a world we live in.....What a world...

  • CASEY: Geelong

There was a time in the second quarter of the game at the Cattery on Friday afternoon when the Casey Demons threatened to take the game apart against the Cats. The Demons had been well on top early but were struggling to convert their ascendancy over the ground until Tom Fullarton’s burst of three goals in the space of eight minutes on the way to a five goal haul and his best game for the club since arriving from Brisbane at the end of 2023. He was leading, marking and otherwise giving his opponents a merry dance as Casey grabbed a three goal lead in the blink of an eye. Fullarton has now kicked ten goals in Casey’s three matches and, with Melbourne’s forward conversion woes, he is definitely in with a chance to get his first game with the club in next week’s Gather Round in Adelaide. Despite the tall forward’s efforts - he finished with 19 disposals and eight marks and had four hit outs as back up to Will Verrall in the second half - it wasn’t enough as Geelong reigned in the lead through persistent attacks and eventually clawed their way to the lead early in the last and held it till they achieved the end aim of victory.

  • REPORT: Geelong

I was disappointed to hear Goody say at his post match presser after the team’s 39 point defeat against Geelong that "we're getting high quality entry, just poor execution" because Melbourne’s problems extend far beyond that after its 0 - 4 start to the 2025 football season. There are clearly problems with poor execution, some of which were evident well before the current season and were in play when the Demons met the Cats in early May last year and beat them in a near top-of-the-table clash that saw both sides sitting comfortably in the top four after round eight. Since that game, the Demons’ performances have been positively Third World with only five wins in 19 games with a no longer majestic midfield and a dysfunctional forward line that has become too easy for opposing coaches to counter. This is an area of their game that is currently being played out as if they were all completely panic-stricken.

  • PREGAME: Essendon

Facing the very real and daunting prospect of starting the season with five straight losses, the Demons head to South Australia for the annual Gather Round, where they’ll take on the Bombers in search of their first win of the year. Who comes in, and who comes out?

  • NON-MFC: Round 04

Round 4 kicks off with a blockbuster on Thursday night as traditional rivals Collingwood and Carlton clash at the MCG, with the Magpies looking to assert themselves as early-season contenders and the Blues seeking their first win of the season. Saturday opens with Gold Coast hosting Adelaide, a key test for the Suns as they aim to back up their big win last week, while the Crows will be looking to keep their perfect record intact. Reigning wooden spooners Richmond have the daunting task of facing reigning premiers Brisbane at the ‘G and the Lions will be eager to reaffirm their premiership credentials after a patchy start. Saturday night sees North Melbourne take on Sydney at Marvel Stadium, with the Swans looking to build on their first win of the season last week against a rebuilding Roos outfit. Sunday’s action begins with GWS hosting West Coast at ENGIE Stadium, a game that could get ugly very early for the visitors. Port Adelaide vs St Kilda at Adelaide Oval looms as a interesting clash, with both clubs form being very hard to read. The round wraps up with Fremantle taking on the Western Bulldogs at Optus Stadium in what could be a fierce contest between two sides with top-eight ambitions. Who are you tipping this week and what are the best results for the Demons besides us winning?
