If Clisby gets more weeks than C. Brown then...

Featured Replies

Luckily I updated the thread before I posted how weak we are for not challenging.

Good move by the club. Win or lose the challenge it shows loyalty to our players and fight to the supporters.

Shattered with the Clisby result - so typical (that had to be his best game)

I watched the MRP this week and was a bit suprised at how weak our game is becoming - the Clisby incident was not mentioned

I thought that Dustin Fletcher getting 3 weeks was a joke - the guys like 3 meters tall and was running at full pace. If I was in charge of the rules and the opposition player was not injured I would maybe give a few points or 1 week max.

Campbell Brown can go dig a hole and die (there is accidental then deliberate and I think that's when the MRP should come in)

dustin got 2 because it was late and to the head when he should have been tackling.

You need to go on Twitter and tell Campbell Brown that this morning, haven't got the technical ability to paste it here, was in a conversation with Mark Ricciuto of all people

MR "surely you are going to contest that charge mate, just saw it, they are joking"

CB "I'm contesting it mate, can't believe it"

I tweeted........"you are kidding Brownie, there was a second action, involuntary or not, u r not a cleanskin"

I wish Clisby dislocated Browns shoulder then I would have happily accepted 3 weeks just for the satisfaction of watching him hobble off the ground

SEN report that Clisby has 'back-flipped' on his contesting and shall take the 3 weeks.

This calls for a good old

Foxtrot

Or Foxtrot Mike Delta.

Anyway, I'm staggered and shocked

Utterly bizarre. The footage clearly shows Clisby being dragged away by several GC players and Sexton holding on to him with both hands. If anything, that is the motion that damages his shoulder as his arms extend above his head. It's an entirely self-inflicted injury. We should be fighting this on general principle. Especially since it will make no difference if we fail. Three weeks or four, he's still out for the rest of the year.

These sorts of outcomes always make me wonder what the club knows that I don't, because not challenging this seems preposterous at face value.

Funny you mention that..

I actually thought it may have something to do with the fact that the only way Clisby could get off is if Sexton testified to say it wasn't his fault...

I could be way overreacting to the whole scenario but I sense that Gold Coast may have made it clear that they won't help us out because we didn't help with Campbell Brown's...

Just seems weird that both teams were challenging their respective charges and suddenly we have to turn ours down.

MFC Twitter yesterday also retweeted the charge against Brown on Strauss which is normally uncommon so I had a feeling MFC were keen for him to get weeks for his dog act.

These sorts of outcomes always make me wonder what the club knows that I don't, because not challenging this seems preposterous at face value.

I just dont think this club has the stomach for confrontation.. Its the 'rollover' Demons.

Uncle Andy may have made a phone call...

With one H&A round left, correct me if that's wrong, he'd be a chance to play in the Grand Final, is that the argument?

Smells more of perennialy-soft underbelly to me.

Losing the case, at worst, would cost him one more VFL final. Winning gets him 2 more VFL finals and 2 more AFL games.

Obviously I don't know what has gone on behind closed doors, but this seems on the face of it, weak.

PS. I have just realized if he gets 4, he is out for whole VFL finals as we don't play again until next season.

He has copped this charge one week too late, as only 3 AFL games left for us.

Think I would have still rolled the dice and made them prove he caused the injury.

I'm not impressed that we've rolled over for this but I guess he can play some VFL finals and get to play in a successful team. I really hope Brown doesn't get off, I will be filthy if the tribunal rolls on him.

Eff the VFL. Very sad that the club places this above its values and getting a bloke off the hook.

More to it for sure.

For this year’s Easter Saturday game at the MCG, Simon Goodwin and his Demons wound the clock back a few years to wipe out the horrible memories of last season’s twin thrashings at the hands of the Dockers. And it was about time! Melbourne’s indomitable skipper Max Gawn put in a mammoth performance in shutting out his immediate opponent Sean Darcy in the ruck and around the ground and was a colossus at the end when the game was there to be won or lost. It was won by 16.11.107 to 14.13.97. There was the battery-charged Easter Bunny in Kysaiah Pickett running anyone wearing purple ragged, whether at midfield stoppages or around the big sticks. He finish with a five goal haul.

  • CASEY: UWS Giants

The Casey Demons took on an undefeated UWS Giants outfit at their own home ground on a beautiful autumn day but found themselves completely out of their depth going down by 53 points against a well-drilled and fair superior combination. Despite having 15 AFL listed players at their disposal - far more than in their earlier matches this season - the Demons were never really in the game and suffered their second defeat in a row after their bright start to the season when they drew with the Kangaroos, beat the Suns and matched the Cats for most of the day on their own dung heap at Corio Bay. The Giants were a different proposition altogether. They had a very slight wind advantage in the opening quarter but were too quick off the mark for the Demons, tearing the game apart by the half way mark of the term when they kicked the first five goals with clean and direct football.
