Opel going ... we will need a new major sponsor.

The car industry is dying....Hopefully our new CEO will know the right way to nail sponsors.

Not surprising.

It's going to be a tough few years ahead now.

not so much the team position, but the global economy...

& the australian budget tightening & FBT reductions, & other tax tightening.

great foresight by Eddie everywhere yet again, in moving to Holden. ahead of the game.

Really hoping this goes along with all the comparisons to Port's last offseason...

We need to go local, local, local... & not luxury items.

we can have luxury sponsors,,, but we need local bread & butter type mainstays as our major sponsors.

Dan Murphy's get a lot of my money...on a regular basis!!

Need to get on board a superannuation company an industry that's going to get bigger in the next few years and going to be heavily pushed

This an opportunity to pinch Skoda from GWS.

the world economy is shrinking, withdrawing,,, go local... commonwealth, westpac, something...

I understand that Kia are not happy with things going on at Essendrug.

They sell a heap more cars than Opel.

Bugger :(

or

An opportunity for a new face to come on board with the NEW Melbourne. Who knows...KIA might be looking for a new club !!! lol :rolleyes:

Not surprised at all.

Their whole advertising campaign seemed to just revolve around the fact that they are German.

Aber, lieben wir Autos  , wir lieben Australien.

Aber schade zu sagen, dass wir gerade Opel-ess sind

Bitte ^_^

( But, we love cars, we love Australia but sorry to say we are just Opeless)

Shizen!!

Every weekend from Melbourne supporters???

Oh... Mr Kaspersky !!!!!!! lol

was it a 1 year contract?

If it was along term contract maybe it could benefit us - they pay say 1/3 of it out and we dont have to advertise them anymore (like Neeld and Schwabs contracts only the other way round).
Then we can get a new sponser........... I assume it doesnt work like that though.

Who are Essendons sponsers? - they might want to look at setting up camp elsewhere

  • REPORT: Fremantle

For this year’s Easter Saturday game at the MCG, Simon Goodwin and his Demons wound the clock back a few years to wipe out the horrible memories of last season’s twin thrashings at the hands of the Dockers. And it was about time! Melbourne’s indomitable skipper Max Gawn put in a mammoth performance in shutting out his immediate opponent Sean Darcy in the ruck and around the ground and was a colossus at the end when the game was there to be won or lost. It was won by 16.11.107 to 14.13.97. There was the battery-charged Easter Bunny in Kysaiah Pickett running anyone wearing purple ragged, whether at midfield stoppages or around the big sticks. He finish with a five goal haul.

  • CASEY: UWS Giants

The Casey Demons took on an undefeated UWS Giants outfit at their own home ground on a beautiful autumn day but found themselves completely out of their depth going down by 53 points against a well-drilled and fair superior combination. Despite having 15 AFL listed players at their disposal - far more than in their earlier matches this season - the Demons were never really in the game and suffered their second defeat in a row after their bright start to the season when they drew with the Kangaroos, beat the Suns and matched the Cats for most of the day on their own dung heap at Corio Bay. The Giants were a different proposition altogether. They had a very slight wind advantage in the opening quarter but were too quick off the mark for the Demons, tearing the game apart by the half way mark of the term when they kicked the first five goals with clean and direct football.
