Why the [censored] didn't Toumopas just swing around and have a snot for goal?

WHY???????????

An under 12s player would have rad that situation better

I am so [censored] off

well am about to pick Mrs up from airport . Been listening to game.

sounds like weve gone retro.

Craig off my list of coaches now... hesitate gone all Neeldy today. f that

glad radio going to music shortly...will save the pain.

big clearout coming for sure

The lack of acceleration and explosiveness from Melbourne players is frightening.

David Misson is a joke

The lack of acceleration and explosiveness from Melbourne players is frightening.

Hard to fathom really, I knew we were bad, but geez.

We can barely even get the ball inside 50, so embarrassing.

11 shots to 1.

How can the MFC expect people to pay hard earned to watch this sub standard sh!t.

Cannot believe we tanked for 2 years putting the entire club in danger for Trengove.

Absolutely staggering!!!!

The club will not survive this garbage much longer.

The players do not want to learn.

They like the cash, but will not work for it.

The AFL have a huge task in resurrecting this sick mess.

You are spot on! It is garbage. It really annoys me that this group of players get away with this.

The lack of acceleration and explosiveness from Melbourne players is frightening.

Is really obvious when they try to spread for a kick in

I've had it with Trengove. A midfield captain with 3 touches isn't even a joke.

This is a really hard game to watch.

Dawes yet to touch the footy.

Did anyone just hear dumbo Russell on fox? "Melbourne headed for their worst season in 150 years, they've never finished 17th before."

Maybe it's his fault out players have caught dumb?

Luckily, haven't seen a single minute. Don't think I'll want to, given the way things are going.

Sounds horrendously bad. A club in our position is going to have ups and downs, but to regress this badly back into a situation where we're uncompetitive to the point where we can't go inside 50 isn't good enough.

As I say that, Fitzpatrick kicks one, which helps.

Dawes yet to touch the footy.

It's been down his end 5 times in the match.

not dawes fault

Funny what happens when you get it down forward QUICKLY to a one on one...

lol one on one, first entry and there's a North player in ACRES of space.

YEs Silvias man

I honestly thought we had moved past this level of competitiveness. I'm a bit shocked, which at this stage isn't easy to do.

god help Mark Neeld if i ever see him in the street

How dare he bring this loser Pedersen to our club and oin top of that he wasted the whole trade week chasing the spud

[censored] mark Neeld you pathetic nerd

3 years...

Fitzpatrick is just a winner, the kid is a winner, it don't look pretty, but he is very effective at all times.

Dawes yet to touch the footy.

Well he's kicked one now. Happy?

Contested possessions 18-7 to us in the last five minutes. That's good at least.

Inside 50s 6-7 their way this quarter. So at least that's an improvement too.

  • PREVIEW: Essendon

Not long ago, the narrative surrounding Melbourne was steeped in pessimism. There was some concern among the pundits (and even some fans) that the club would arrive at the AFL’s Gather Round still winless, vulnerable to a familiar adversary in the Essendon Football Club, and facing significant scrutiny from an ever-critical media on a national stage. Things have changed.

  • REPORT: Gold Coast

Steven King astutely identified the issues that had plagued the Melbourne Football Club over the past two and a half seasons when he auditioned for the newly created coaching role. The side that had claimed the 2021 premiership had become stodgy, slow-paced, and hesitant to take the initiative.
