The lack of acceleration and explosiveness from Melbourne players is frightening.

David Misson is a joke

Hard to fathom really, I knew we were bad, but geez.

We can barely even get the ball inside 50, so embarrassing.

11 shots to 1.

How can the MFC expect people to pay hard earned to watch this sub standard sh!t.

Cannot believe we tanked for 2 years putting the entire club in danger for Trengove.

Absolutely staggering!!!!

The club will not survive this garbage much longer.

The players do not want to learn.

They like the cash, but will not work for it.

The AFL have a huge task in resurrecting this sick mess.

You are spot on! It is garbage. It really annoys me that this group of players get away with this.

Is really obvious when they try to spread for a kick in

I've had it with Trengove. A midfield captain with 3 touches isn't even a joke.

Did anyone just hear dumbo Russell on fox? "Melbourne headed for their worst season in 150 years, they've never finished 17th before."

Maybe it's his fault out players have caught dumb?

Luckily, haven't seen a single minute. Don't think I'll want to, given the way things are going.

Sounds horrendously bad. A club in our position is going to have ups and downs, but to regress this badly back into a situation where we're uncompetitive to the point where we can't go inside 50 isn't good enough.

As I say that, Fitzpatrick kicks one, which helps.

I honestly thought we had moved past this level of competitiveness. I'm a bit shocked, which at this stage isn't easy to do.

Dawes yet to touch the footy.

Well he's kicked one now. Happy?

Contested possessions 18-7 to us in the last five minutes. That's good at least.

Inside 50s 6-7 their way this quarter. So at least that's an improvement too.

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
