The Trade/Draft Rumour Mill

Jamar out (Brisbane or St.Kilda for a pick upgrade) - Jolly in would not surprise me in the least.

I wonder if he'll get to the saints to backup longer & their others.

Lennon more suited to our needs in my opinion, and i think he will be there at 9

Well, now that Chapman has been locked away by the Bummers, he might stand a chance.

So...

Jamar + 40 to Brisbane for 29

Jamar + 40 to St. Kilda for 25

Jamar + 57 to Brisbane for 45

I'm just trying to look at possibilities for an upgrade with the teams you've listed there. The two years left on Jamar's deal will be tough to swallow for any club looking to trade for him as a short term bit of ruck help. The trade with St. Kilda I listed above is grand larceny on our part, and the deal for Brisbane's 29 is pretty cheeky also, but the three deals is all I could come up with given the picks the three teams hold. If Blease was of any interest to either of them then that's a different story and opens up some possibilities.

Thanks for the reply. I was wondering why you were keen. There are a lot of Adelaide mids I like. He's not one of them. A case of style over substance IMHO.

I doubt anyone is going to take Dunn or Bail no matter how you dress the deal up. Happy to be proven wrong though.

I don't know much about him, except he was going well last year & we were keen to get him. his run & pace are sought imo.

if he wants to return to Melbourne IMo it fits with a change-out refresh of our lists culture. it makes it easier to change the culture with many fresh faces.

& we are short of good runners with pace. I was hoping to get someone like a White from the tiges.

our other running players are static atmo, from our recent list managementing, & we need some heart-starting.

it seeming like this was our preference anyway. we didn't chase him very hard at all.

That'll teach me to attempt obscure humour on here ;-) (it was a silly reference to Mark Chapman, John Lennon's killer).

Yes, ambitious isn't it. Saints have got 41 too. Maybe Jamar + 40 for 41?

I think if you were going to move Jamar on, you'd happily do it for the pick 103 that neither team intends to use.

I definitely think the Russian would be open to a move to Brisbane to be with his mate.

Although it is a good idea and works well for us, If I was St K or Bris I would be looking at getting Jolly for free, which is better than trading us for Russian. Unless Jolly doesn't want to go?

I thought I heard on trade radio or one of the papers that St K was talking to Jolly?

I know it's totally irrelevant, but David Mackay is from a dyed-in-the-wool Demon supporting family.

I'm sure they'd be rapt if he played for us.

Should have signed last year then.

Pls Pls make it so Jamar will not add anything to our new midfield Hope the Dees are ruthless now!

Id like to see Mackay become a demon.... Would really round out trade weeks for me...

Ok, Now don't take this as gospel, as it was posted on BF and I never really believe any of the rumors there.. but this one I had to share.

Rumours in Melbourne that Josh Kennedy is a massive chance to become a demon by the end of trade week.

Well known fact Buddy almost "bullied" him at Hawthorn. Kennedy is filthy at the swans and wants out.

Paul Roos is a big player in this, Watch this space

This was posted by a North Melbourne supporter. Dont think that has anything to do with it, just thought I'd add that.

if that happened, wow.

I think we have completed our trades for this year.I rate it as excellent- a grat mix of maturity with potential.

To complete our list, we need the best pick for our Ist pick in the National Draft.--No.9 then we need to try to grab another tall back to develop.Congrats to Todd and the team

Now that would be a massive coup

Pick 9 for Josh Kennedy, surely we'd have to add something else into the deal?

Sydney might bite too, would definitely loosen up a bit more cap space and give them an earlier pick.

Clearly BS unfortunately

I doubt this would happen but I have a feeling that we are not quite done.

Congratulations for the best rumour in 165 pages. Just enough believability (easy to picture Buddy being an arrogant knobhead)

And Kennedy may follow the guy who helped make him the player he is

95% unlikely to happen but love it anyway

Sounds like Longer is going to get to St.Kilda and Yeo to WC for 31. Brisbane may be in the Jamar market.

Jamar + 40 to Brisbane for 31

Jamar + 57 to Brisbane for 45

Jolly via delisted FA.

I doubt this would happen but I have a feeling that we are not quite done.

Agreed

Think theres a surprise or 2 left regarding the MFC

Roos, Mahoney, Viney and co. will not be content with what they've done so far no matter how good its been

  • REPORT: Fremantle

For this year’s Easter Saturday game at the MCG, Simon Goodwin and his Demons wound the clock back a few years to wipe out the horrible memories of last season’s twin thrashings at the hands of the Dockers. And it was about time! Melbourne’s indomitable skipper Max Gawn put in a mammoth performance in shutting out his immediate opponent Sean Darcy in the ruck and around the ground and was a colossus at the end when the game was there to be won or lost. It was won by 16.11.107 to 14.13.97. There was the battery-charged Easter Bunny in Kysaiah Pickett running anyone wearing purple ragged, whether at midfield stoppages or around the big sticks. He finish with a five goal haul.

  • CASEY: UWS Giants

The Casey Demons took on an undefeated UWS Giants outfit at their own home ground on a beautiful autumn day but found themselves completely out of their depth going down by 53 points against a well-drilled and fair superior combination. Despite having 15 AFL listed players at their disposal - far more than in their earlier matches this season - the Demons were never really in the game and suffered their second defeat in a row after their bright start to the season when they drew with the Kangaroos, beat the Suns and matched the Cats for most of the day on their own dung heap at Corio Bay. The Giants were a different proposition altogether. They had a very slight wind advantage in the opening quarter but were too quick off the mark for the Demons, tearing the game apart by the half way mark of the term when they kicked the first five goals with clean and direct football.
