Yeah I remember because I saw us beat them at the G in 2004 by 100 points. Great day! But yeah I get what your saying but I personally wouldn't want us giving up pick 2, pick 20 and a player for one mid. Not even Gary Ablett.

Funny the way Treloar sort of goes under the radar, but he's by far the most productive of any of GWS' kids, bar Ward and he's not really a kid on that list.

He's never mentioned in dispatches about wanting to come home, though.

I just find Treloar a little outside for our needs at the moment. I've always found him a really smooth-mover though, with good disposal and pace.

Viv is a dee as reported on trade radio just then

pick 54 or something...

my contact told me he would be first and announced early this week. Wed isn't early in the week but he was right otherwise.

Strong rumour doing the rounds on twitter that GWS are very keen on Pick 2 and a deal is getting close. Jon Ralph, Sam Landsberger and Adam White have all mentioned it in the last half hour. No word on what GWS are offering but it looks as though it has some real potential at the minute.

Given that Judd was the absolute jet of the comp Carlton definitely won that trade.. Just ironic that they lack a kew forward atm..

Say we had just for example.. Josh Kennedy from Sydney keen.. And we traded pick 2 say (a player Sydney need) and pick 21.. Would it be worth it?

I definitely think so..

Or

I'd be offering up pick 2, Fitzpatrick and 20 for Rockliff and say Karnezis or a first round pick..

You've got to give abit to get and Brisbane will need a key forward soon.. And we are desperate for a gun mid!

Thoughts?

My thoughts are good idea if you take Fitzpatrick out of the equation. I would rather see him as a gun for us long-term than for Brisbane and pick #2 is already 'giving a bit'!

SOS is becoming a draft pick junkie, just like a lot of demonlanders...

They reckon SOS is in love with Josh Kelly and would love to get both he and Boyd in this draft. No idea what GWS are offering but they at least have some young midfielders who would make a difference to our side.

Kennedy for 2... Pass but I don't hate the Brisbane deal.

I personally think Carlton didn't win that trade as although they received Judd who was a super player they lost a very good forward in Kennedy plus 2 other high picks. You can tell by their lack of depth that this affected them. That is why you should be careful how much you give away for one player.

i would say it was a win-win situation

Judd was instrumental for carlton for a long time, winning a brownlow, captain, countless b&f's and is only starting to fade in the last year and a half

West Coast got a gun key forward, Masten and whoever pick 20 brought in

Not sure we'd be able to get Greenwood with pick 72.

Any news on him by the way?

Last I remember hearing they we're looking to get him out of their system. If they snatch Dal Santo I reckon they'll be looking for salary cap relief wherever they can find it and Greenwood would provide it. If we've just scored Michie at 54, Greenwood at 72 aint absurd!

Don't think I'd bother with Greenwood, if we secured the rest.

Vince, Lyons & Michie may be enough.

Might not even need Cross (but I want him).

Not sure we have that much room on our list, either.

Maybe you're right but there's always room for midfielders and I reckon we have plenty of room. Bail and Nicho could go and mod wouldn't bat an eyelid!

I don't mind this, however blease for Mitche doesn't sit well with me. Viv is the definition of injury prone, he is a gamble. I'd keep an unfit ranga who knows where the goals are and has pace to burn over an injury prone midfielder who hasn't been able to show any consistent form at afl level.

We fdon't need to trade Sammy as Michie's been swapped for 4th round pick (54). I want to see if Blease can improve his tank and work both ways.

With the recent appointment of Viv Michie to the MFC, Supporters should rest easy that the club is making the right decisions without the media attention. It has been suggested by posters on demonland that the club is not reacting to the trade period however this just shows that the club is working behind closed doors and the reduced media attention may in fact assist the club is signing significant names at a bargain price. I'm happy with two or three more appointments via trade/FA established players and the remainder via the national draft.

Pick 2 + Pick 19 + Blease = Shiel + Treloar

Pick 21 (or Sylvia Compo pick, wherever that is) = Vince

Pick 36 = Jarman Impey

Pick 54 = Viv Michie

Pick 72 = Clizby upgrade

FA = Cross

Would love to see Jamar gone and Jolly in so a trade on Jamar + Tapscott for having the ability to get Jolly would be great.

Rockliff paying off on Polec for "selecting" a club after just playing a handful of games.

Spot on Tommy!

Any chance of delisting Byrnes, no offence but he did FA this year and I saw photo's of him parading around in Europe...I just thought that is bullsheet, what a waste...let's get Dayle Garlett to play wing half forward .who's keen for that ?? He could stay with the Viney's with Jimmy & Hoges.

If you don't like photos of someone in Europe then I find it ironic you are happy to draft Dayle Garlett, the king of photos...

Yeah, know what you mean... I just saw Frawley tweeting a photo of himself lazing around on his back in Paris, resting before heading up the Eifel Tower... hope to god that they delist him asap.

No it just frustrates me that we gave him a second chance at the top level and good $$ and what did he give to us?? Prior to his 'photos' he was rated top 10 in last year draft pool. What will Byrnes give us in 2014, I can't be bothered with him and not the sort of person I want to support. Do any other teams want him??? I like the unknown factor with Garlett.

It was another strong season from McVee who spent most of his time mainly at half back but he also looked at home on a few occasions when he was moved into the midfield. The luckless Salem suffered a hamstring injury against the Lions early in the season and, after missing a number of games, he was never at his best.
