The Trade/Draft Rumour Mill

Featured Replies

Norm are you talking through you sources or via us bunch of fools?

mainly work people.

He's 28 and had an 'inconsistent' year with Adelaide.

What is it about him that appeals to us as a future player?

He's mature and he's cheap..?

He is better than the older midfielders we have which is none.

Agree with this. I think there are a few more dominoes to fall in terms of picks and players before we go for Vince. At 28 he isn't worth the second pick in the draft. Mahoney mentioned we might be getting players and picks so it may be Vince, another player a second round pick (or something like that) for pick 2.

Whay does it have to involve pick 2. We'll have pick ~21 and 22. That's more on the mark for a 28 year old.

Would hope it would be more than Vince for our second rounder, would view this as an overall loss.

If linked with Lyons as well would certainly look at this as being win win.,

They need that pick more than we need a 28 year old overrated B grader so would need a sweetener ( Lyons ).

Purely speculative....

How about the Sylvia compo pick (maybe 22) & Jamar

For Bernie Vince & Jarryd Lyons

- Instant midfield solution if the Dees rate Lyons - there has been a rumour linking him to MFC

- Jamar gets to go back to Adelaide - and they might be trading out McKernan

- A virtual swap of Sylvia for Vince - roughly equal value and same age

- Get to keep all of our original high picks unless we trade pick 2 out

They need that pick more than we need a 28 year old overrated B grader so would need a sweetener ( Lyons ).

Given we have ONE midfielder who could even be discussed as better than B-grade, and a bunch of C, D and E graders running around, I wouldn't be so sure.

28 is not old either.

Did anyone else hear on KB show(SEN) that Balme heard that Pendlebury was up for trade? Pretty sure thats what I heard him say... He could have just been being cheeky...

The Ox on SEN mentioned something about this guy coming to us.

Info is second hand, anyone else hear it?

Heard it. He was definitely taking the p155.

i didn't know Elliot was a midfielder.

Elliot is a gun, he'd be a great target for not only MFC, but any side in the comp.

I'd rather Elliot higher than Adams and by a fair space.

Elliot isn't a midfielder but he'll be the best small forward in the comp in a couple of years. We need a small forward too.

It would be nice to complete one trade to keep the panicky woe is us dudes quiet for a moment.

Perhaps pick 121 for 120, just something... please.

Yep it seems Melbourne and other fans go into a fit if their teams aren't heavily involved in the trade period every day. How many cam Pederson's do we want? No news is good news for me at the moment.

Perhaps pick 121 for 120, just something... please.

I think we are saving pick 121 to find a replacement for Pederson

A direct swap for me would improve the list.

Right, someone needs to get a hold of Josh Mahoney and tell him to get the following done, ASAP:

Dom Tyson and pick 9 for Sam Blease and pick 2
Bernie Vince and and Lyons for 2nd rounder (Sylvia compo pick)
Viv Michie for 3rd Rounder
Daniel Cross as delisted FA.
Draft Matt Crouch or Luke Dunstan with pick 9

If this all came to fruition we'd have a midfield consisting of N. Jones, Vince, Cross, Trengove, Viney, Tyson, Crouch/Dunstan, Toumpas, Michie in 2014.

Add in a fit Clark and Hogan to the forward 50 and it's virtually Premiership time.

Seriously though I'm not sure the Giants would go Tyson and 9 for Blease and 2 but the rest looks feasible, right?

We will be trading pick 2 and Mark Jamar to Adelaide for Brad Crouch and Bernie Vince.

That is the third statement of 'fact' from you about a trade involving Pick 2.

Stop posting for a while.

But they're getting better. If they were getting worse I'd recommend a rest. Just imagine what we'll be getting by the end of the trade period.

In my dreams we will be trading pick 2 and Mark Jamar to Adelaide for Brad Crouch and Bernie Vince

Fixed!

Nice editing deleting the (in my dreams) from the quote

  • CASEY: Footscray

At twenty-four minutes into the third term of the game between the Casey Demons and Footscray VFL at Whitten Oval, the visitors were coasting. They were winning all over the ground, had the ascendancy in the ruck battles and held a 26 point lead on a day perfect for football. What could go wrong? Everything. The Bulldogs moved into overdrive in the last five minutes of the term and booted three straight goals to reduce the margin to a highly retrievable eight points at the last break. Bouyed by that effort, their confidence was on a high level during the interval and they ran all over the despondent Demons and kicked another five goals to lead by a comfortable margin of four goals deep into the final term before Paddy Cross kicked a couple of too late goals for a despondent Casey. A testament to their lack of pressure in the latter stages of the game was the fact that Footscray’s last ten scoring shots were nine goals and one rushed behind. Things might have been different for the Demons who went into the game after last week’s bye with 12 AFL listed players. Blake Howes was held over for the AFL game but two others, Jack Billings and Taj Woewodin (not officially listed as injured) were also missing and they could have been handy at the end. Another mystery of the current VFL system.

Wayward kicking for goal, dump kicks inside 50 and some baffling umpiring all contributed to the Dees not getting out to an an early lead that may have impacted the result. At the end of the day the Demons were just not good enough and let the Hawks run away with their first win against the Demons in 7 years.
