Mitchell Hallahan #38 Hawthorn Hawks Age: 20yr 10mth Games: 0 Born: August 23, 1992 Height: 183cm Weight: 84kg Position: Midfield Drafted: Round 2, Pick #38 2010 National Draft

Draft Bio:

Tough inside player (and former amateur boxer) from the Dandenong Stingrays who boasts a penetrating right foot kick. He wins one-on-one contests and is highly-disciplined. Earned All-Australian selection after the 2010 NAB AFL Under-18 Championships, after an excellent campaign where he averaged 20 disposals at 66 per cent efficiency with an average of five tackles. The Hawks see some similarities with emerging Richmond star Dustin Martin.

3 years on hawks list. Missed 2011 with injury but came back in 2012 and starred late in the year with some BOG games. Cannot crack a game in 2013 hawks outfit given Lewis, Mitchell, Hodge, Sewell & Whitecross all ahead of him.

He should be offered a deal by MFC and a crack in our midfield. He again is starring for the Box Hill Hawks and at 20 would be a good get.

Either PSD #2, or trade as a straight swap for Rohan Bail or Daniel Nicholson.

What on earth would Clarkson do with Bail or Nicholson. I know he got Cheney but he places a huge emphasis on kicking and aggression. Two traits that Bail and Nicholson completely lack.

With Mitchell, Hodge and Sewell nearing the end of their careers I can't see Hawthorn just giving away one of their better young mids. They aren't exactly flush with them either. They have Breust and Rioli who will end up going into the midfield mix and Lewis and Shields but at Box Hill there isn't a line up of players.

If this guy is as good as you think he is we'd have to offer Hawthorn something as well as making the kid an offer he can't resist.

As Hawthorn got burnt by trading away Kennedy (who was more established but on the other hand Hawthorn had a younger midfield then) why would they risk getting burnt again?

Why would they swap him for Bail or Nicholson?

Wouldn't mind getting him across from the hawks where he can't crack a game... only played 6 games with the since being drafted but is 22yrs and a decent sized midfielder. Believe he won the j.j. liston last year and playing well in the vfl grand final today.

And I'm sure there is a Jason Tutt thread on here somewhere but he has looked out of his depth today. He kicked a nice snap but he panics with the footy in hand.

I tried to look at tutt closely but he didn't do much at all for the quarter and a bit I was watching. Doesn't impress me at all.

Haven't seen much of sicily before today but does look smooth player.

Mitch is a good VFL player, we had a couple of those last year in Magner and Couch.

I wouldn't necessarily back him on his VFL form. What does he bring to the AFL table?

2024 Player Reviews: #36 Kysaiah Pickett

The Demons’ aggressive small forward who kicks goals and defends the Demons’ ball in the forward arc. When he’s on song, he’s unstoppable but he did blot his copybook with a three week suspension in the final round. 2024 Player Reviews: #1 Steven May

The years are rolling by but May continued to be rock solid in a key defensive position despite some injury concerns. He showed great resilience in coming back from a nasty rib injury and is expected to continue in that role for another couple of seasons. It was another strong season from McVee who spent most of his time mainly at half back but he also looked at home on a few occasions when he was moved into the midfield. There could be more of that in 2025.
