PJ likes the word impediment doesn't he.

He talks to the AFL every day either to AD or GM which is interesting.

Posted

So everything is ok is it?

I am suprised i have to say it at all. But some people still believe the club is just fine.

The ABC interview was even more expansive than the one on MMM.

Who says everything is ok? All I read is that CS was incompetent but not a theif. Comprehend now??

White Collars don't call it theft...but his pockets are lined as are those of CC

Call it what you like. It is what it is to those who put hard earned into the club, considering how it was used.

Posted

No one calls it theft. The thief takes something illegally, CS was paid out of his legally binding contract.

ok then lets call it value for money....same result.

WYL you've made your point so can you give it a rest? Everyone understands CS and the Former president didn't do a great job but there's nothing we can do about it now. Unless you want to sue them personally or call the police and have them charged for something, let it go.

You aren't the only one who's done his hard earned there are plenty of others.

I believe in PJ..thank God the amateurs have gone.

No, but you are just one of many on here who think they're on some crusade to point out flaws that only they can see. And one of many who just reiterate their point over... and over... and over... and over... I get bored reading it, i don't know how you don't get bored writing it

I am not the only one who can see it, i do not want to be on a crusade at all, but i do get irritated when people on here still defend these people saying they "did their best"

No they didn't..the sooner ALL financial backers of this club realize this and demand it then we will all see results.

Second best has been the catch cry of the MFC ever since Norm was sacked.

FFS man just let it go, it's over they've gone, we all hate them and hope they burn in Hell. Ok, can we stop now, this thread is about the future not the past I'm sick of hearing about CS in every thread on this board.

The Freo people were telling us all about Cam Schwab 3 years ago. I must admit I too had my doubts. If only we could rewind to 186 and do that whole weekend over again.

I recall several similar posts about Neeld when he came on board.

"breath of fresh air", "tells it like it is", "no [censored]"

:)

If only we could go back to 2008 when Jim gave McNamee the flick, and decided to go with Stuart Fox over the bespectacled one.

Given the number of issues that most supporters at most clubs are divided on, I don't think it's wise to talk about what "the Freo people were telling us" well after the event because it often depends on which Freo people you happen to be talking to at any particular time.

The same goes for Peter Jackson. If you listen to Essendon people like the ones I was talking with yesterday then you might not be so effusive about him either. They were not so happy at the way he dealt with the replacement of Kevin Sheedy with Matthew Knights claiming that the appointment nearly destroyed the club. And one of them added that the systems he left at the club weren't changed greatly by his successor who resigned not long ago over the peptides fiasco.

I figured these people to be Sheedy loyalists so I'm sure there are other viewpoints about Jackson within the Essendon supporter group. However, that's exactly why I wonder about the wisdom of listening to what people from other clubs allegedly have to say about anyone who moves from one club to another in any capacity.

If Brisbane fans listen to what Melbourne people have to say about Brent Moloney what do you think they might be told?

I agree Jack; claiming that the Freo fans told us relies on the flawed premise that the fans have any idea what they're on about. I think we've demonstrated pretty comprehensively in the last 5 years or so that as a collective, we don't.

CB if you couldn't see that you're kidding yourself. Would you want to stay at Melb as a 25, 25+yr old player? No chance. It's still a bleak future at this stage, I'd be looking at my options if playing finals was a key priority. If money was, I'd stay at Melb as I doubt many if any if out players would get pay rises going to other clubs.

He also indicated that appointing the two Jacks was a mistake, and that there is no one on our list like Hodge who leads both on and off the field.

Also said that the club would no longer leak like a sieve to the media - used the example of no one knowing Neeld was being fired on Monday as the example.

Very, very impressive interview.

DA, I heard him at the MBC breakfast and he said there that appointing the two jacks was the right decision, but, that it was the right decision was the problem - they should not need to be in that position.

Thanks Rod.

PJ gives me hope. He is not about spin and tells it like it is.

Imagine the courage to say none of the staff are in the top percentage of their area in the AFL.

He is extremely articulate and convincing.

Don't know how much he can achieve, but I don't think he will stop until he gets the maximum he can.

Most importantly he has a willing partner in the AFL.

Just heard the ABC interview then.

Excellent but must say, I will wait until I see results on the field.

I wonder where the spruikers who kept telling us that everything was tickety boo and howled down critical voices during the 'rebuild of a rebuild' are after hearing these interviews? Whatever Jackson is or isn't, he has revealed that yes, it was all spin.

How can you single AnyOne out after 45 Yrs of failing Boards??? can't you see the obvious, that we can Never get a footy board inplace in nearly 50Yrs... half a century of boards not understanding footy, & winning footy people... biases, No we won't have Matthews, no we won't have Sheedy, No we don't like anyone who ruffles our feathers...

stop looking for scapegoats & See the real picture here...

I think (well hope) that is turning around now 'dee', there is little doubt in my mind that the reason we didn't get a senior coach last appointment was because of the ruffled feathers thing you talk about.

Eade who was the pick at that time wouldn't have towed the party line so easily whereas a rookie coach preaching the values the powers at the time wanted to hear was the ideal choice.

The way people carry on around here you'd think Peter Jackson is Warren Buffet's smarter brother. There are no messiahs or white knights that will single handedly pull us out of the crapper. Haven't we learned that there are no quick fixes. This desperate mentality for a saviour is what got us into this position in the first place. Jackson is one piece in a complex jigsaw.

Personally I believe that Jackson may prove to be a good CEO, even an outstanding one, but then again I have also foolishly placed my faith in the likes of Neeld and Schwab. Not to mention Bailey, McLardy, Gutnick, Peter Moore, Kelvin Templeton, Big Carl, Graham Molloy and of course Diamond Jim Tilbrook. I have seen far to many saviours come and go to get carried away by the arrival of another. This time I will hold my judgement until his actions become aparent rather than be seduced by words. I wish him well but a word of warning to all those on this forum who already worship him. He is human. It is entirely feasible that he just might not live up to your very high expectations.

Didn't Peter Moore win a brownlow at Melbourne? Harsh call
