I agree. The headlining of Jeff is/has been Jeff's primary concern throughout this process.

Total rubbish from Kennett. Still won't name who's with him. Still can't say exactly what he wants to do to the club. Still hasn't explained why he's gone from wanting us to merge in April to wanting us to be a strong brand in June, aside from the obvious fact that he wants to stoke his ego by being President.

Go away Jeff.

If he had any backers then they have probably fled to talk to the club as all other Demons have been doing.

The AFL in conjunction with interested parties and those on the current Board can come toghether and have a Board that is connected and powerful and reflects the many interested and loyal Demons that are willing to help.

We have never needed a divisive election headlined by an outsider intent on applying blame, getting members mad about it, and riding in on those stirred emotions.

I think his talk of commissioners is different to what he first suggested when pushing to become President. I wonder if he appointed commissioners to run the councils who had a differing view point to him and his government as he suggests the AFL do, probably not but I do not mind the idea of a commission rather than a board until things are stabilised.

so he went to all the trouble of writing an open letter to MFC members, yet he still didn't tell us who is on his ticket?

He is wasting everyones time now

[censored] Jeff

I thought you and Jeff had a bit of a bromance happening? Such memorable quotes included:

  • "Id have Kennett in a heartbeat."
  • "In -... Jeff Kennett - President... That would be my dream"
  • "pretty sure that Kennett will be a Melbourne supporter as soon as he becomes president"
  • "I reckon he would comfortably win the vote."
  • "Kennett would never have copped that 500k fine if he was our president"
  • "anyone who actually thought Kennett was serious when he said we should merge with North must have rocks in their head" [my personal favourite]

Dont forget the quote where I said id need to see his ticket first.

Which he still hasn't shown. We literally do not know one persons name thats backing him.

Im starting to think hes full of [censored].

Unfortunately he is.

There are two things I think of in regards to Jeff

  1. Hubris
  2. Duct Tape

Hush little buttercup don't say a word mummy's gonna by you a mocking bird.

I am going to wait for the AFL reply....Part of me still believes a Jeff Kennett as President for 5 years is exactly what the MFC needs to wake itself up & join the modern world.

So many Melbourne (Good) people have come up short.

If it aint the Gibbster, who has the strength & presence to move the old girl.

Hush little buttercup don't say a word mummy's gonna by you a mocking bird.

Ah yes the great Inez and Charlie Foxx song.

If you wanted the lyrics correctly, they were in fact " hush little baby" not "buttercup"

And we all know your feelings about me but you insist on constantly following me around attempting to contort yourself into a position to dump on me.

Let the hate go, mjt.

Don't let it consume you.

Your easy to dump on, you cry over the same thread everyday, Jeffs in your brain box.

Mentioned on Chanel 7 news tonight that Alan Stockdale has met with the Afl about becoming next pres.

Does that mean Geoff will be Jeffed ?

There were some real politicians - Joe and Russ. Flo's scones, bags full of cash and , of course, memory lapses. Where did those bags come from? Politicians today are a dull lot!

Actually sounds a bit like Carlton

What part of you supports Kennett,? the sawdust between your ears.

Or is Jeff just Jeffing us all for his mate?

So he went to all the trouble of writing an open letter to MFC members, yet he still didn't tell us who is on his ticket?

[censored] off Jeff!

They're playing games with us. We know that Jeff was in contact with Stockdale about the board ... & we know that Stockdale is said to be busy with the federal election, & people said a week ago he was unwilling to do anything until September was out of the way.

I always wondered why Jeff wanted onboard, & then heard about Stockdale & the strategy is possibly scene, timing & charades ... a tactic to allow Stockdale to both run the election & the board @ Melbourne?

Is Jeff just shopfront that will pullout when the time is right?

Jeff, show us the messages from the AFL, or don't they exist?

I haven't often agreed with you dee-luded but you can go straight to the top of the class on this one. It's been floating around for a couple of weeks now and it's exactly the sort of underhanded political gamesmanship that isn't needed at our club right now. I'm sick and tired of these divisive political types who work together chipping away undermining others, then conveniently make their play for power when the time is right for them.

Heard on the radio this morning that Mike Fitzpatrick has written to Jeff telling him "thanks for your offer, but your services aren't required', bit strange that the AFL could tell a member of the MFC that they couldn't run for the position of President.

Does that confirm that we are effectively in AFL controlled Administration?

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Port Adelaide

The undefeated Demons venture across the continent to the spiritual home of the Port Adelaide Football Club on Saturday afternoon for the inaugural match for premiership points between these long-historied clubs. Alberton Oval will however, be a ground familiar to our players following a practice match there last year. We lost both the game and Liv Purcell, who missed 7 home and away matches after suffering facial fractures in the dying moments of the game.

  • AFLW REPORT: Richmond

A glorious sunny afternoon with a typically strong Casey Fields breeze favouring the city end greeted this round four clash of the undefeated Narrm against the winless Tigers. Pre-match, the teams entered the ground through the Deearmy’s inclusive banner—"Narrm Football Weaving Communities Together and then Warumungu/Yawuru woman and Fox Boundary Rider, Megan Waters, gave the official acknowledgement of country. Any concerns that Collingwood’s strategy of last week to discombobulate the Dees would be replicated by Ryan Ferguson and his Tigers evaporated in the second quarter when Richmond failed to use the wind advantage and Narrm scored three unanswered goals.

  • CASEY: Frankston

The late-season run of Casey wins was broken in their first semifinal against Frankston in a heartbreaking end at Kinetic Stadium on Saturday night that in many respects reflected their entire season. When they were bad, they committed all of the football transgressions, including poor disposal, indiscipline, an inability to exert pressure, and some terrible decision-making, as exemplified by the period in the game when they conceded nine unanswered goals from early in the second quarter until halfway through the third term. You rarely win when you do this.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecast—20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze — expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kate’s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwood’s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.
