Has anyone heard anything of/from Greg Healy - Football Director - in relation to the performances of the team in 2013? He appears to be one of the 'voiceless' men (as opposed to 'faceless').

Thoughts?

How many Directors (excl President) of other AFL clubs do you hear making public comments?

Would love to know Sugars thoughts

But as Daisy points out - his job is to report to the board not the public

said before mate.

were trying to have less talk coming from inside the club.

the only people that should be speaking is the coach and the prez

and the prez should get permission off the coach beforehand to speak

less speakers means less trash spread in the press

Hip and Shoulder raises a valid question. He is the Football Director and our Football at present is Schizen.

I don't recall anyone saying Sugar had to make a "public" comment, but a message to members about the way forward might be reasonable? That said, Daisycutter asked the question: "How many Directors (excl President) of other AFL clubs do you hear making public comments?"

My answer to that would be not many............... until the proverbial hits the fan. At times like those, at least at other clubs who go through crises, they come out with all guns blazing. Stand strong.

Trying to recall what the Football Director at Port Adelaide did last year at their moment of crisis. Guns blazing then? I recall Primus and the President standing down. Their President was in an emotional heap.

Yeah, I don't think Sugar should say anything publicly. It'd just look like we are more of a mess.

I think it's time we just accept that we have no hope of seeing much in 2013. It's breaks my heart to watch the footy club look so pathetic consistently.

Yes, why don't we just be a little selective in citing examples. James Brayshaw!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Citing the Port example in fact backs up what I am saying. They acted swiftly and clinically. Note the difference in them this year????

I think you'll find iws that in those circumstances the president talks to the public on behalf of the board

Edit: and he has said the coaching position won't be looked at until mid season (although i'm sure it is getting lots of discussion internally)

Well Hip & Shoulder did raise the topic of FD in Sugar. I assumed that was the topic I'va - my mistake if that is not the case.

By the way, can I buy some exclamation marks from you. You seem to have them in abundance. ;)

Last time I looked HT, they were free and available in an assortment of fonts and colours, so knock yourself out. I'll say again, I can't find anywhere in this thread, where anybody has said or requested that Sugar goes virally public, but at the risk of sounding too precious, it would be good to hear from him just the same.

We sure do have some keyboard warriors on here don't we??????? Whoops, sorry for the liberal use of punctuation again.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
