Genuine chance next week..

Brisbane have been all but destroyed by North. Often their own worst enemy by continually missing targets and breaking down almost every time they get it forward of centre.

We bring the commitment from the first and last quarters and properly sort out the set up at stoppages, we are in with a huge chance of two in a row and maybe a turn of the tide.

We are absolutely a huge chance

We are a real chance. I realise I should add something else, but at the moment I've got nothing lol

We should have a real crack

i love the optimism here, no doubt caught during the highly contagious last quarter but did you guys watch the other 3 quarters? And all other quarters this year baring some glimpses in the game against the Eagles. I also point you to exhibit A from round 1 last year.

I dearly hope I am proven wrong but I find the optimism here after one quarter of decent football to be premature. Just my two cents. As i said I love the optimism but I have supported this club for too long and have had all the optimism sucked out of me.

Hey buddy....enjoy the week this week and try to think about being a winner.

Who knows about next week but we are a chance if we can sustain the effort from the last qtr no doubt.

Our worst is far worse that the Lions. This remains a worry in every game we play.

Our steady, tight football (when we show it) is equal to theirs.

Our best - shown today in the 4th quarter - is better than their best.

We are a chance and I reckon it will be within 3 goals for them or us but I am not confident.

Bring in Strauss and McKenzie for Viney (needs a break) and Jetta. Don't mess with a winning team, even though it means leaving Pedersen in.

I'd be a bit annoyed if Jetta was dropped after what was an admirable performance today. I agree that McKenzie for Viney may not be a bad swap.

Could be in reference to his report though

Of course we are a chance.

With the right attitude.

I hope Neeld trains them hard this week. No resting on laurels...even subconciously.

Brisbane have been very ordinary this year.

Neeld is fighting for his career. Maybe that was his message at 3/4 time.

Just play for each other.

gonna be hard without Mitch, but definitely not impossible.

Frawley to Brown, McDonald to Martin

McKenzie in to shut down Tom Rockliff

Most importantly, I really hope Neeld turned a corner today in his coaching and he lets the boys loose again like in the 4th quarter. Let them play, let them run, let them be bold.

I think we will be back to earth after the Brisbane game IMO..

I thought we finished really well today but our skills against a bunch of kids were poor at times throughout today.

I good side will chew us up..

Are Brisbane good...I'm not sure... but I think they will give it to us on the scoreboard personally...I hope I am wrong..

Would be nice to c a win up here for once.

We are definitely a chance but it would be nice to play FOUR bloody quarters.

Heres hoping.

We are absolutely a huge chance

I think we'll struggle against the Lions mature inside mids, with todays inunders. we need more grunt at the stoppages, & viney looks to be tiring. > Magner/Kent ?

& the backline needs more experience. Strauss/Dunn ?

As soon as someone starts one of these threads we lose. You are all kidding yourself. Will back Brisbane at the line and make a fortune

it will be tough.. but we wont get the points.

I just hope we can stay with them for a while.

They will be DESPERATE for a win and might just take their anger out on us

He's been trying to get them to be bold the whole year. As Nate Jones summed it up last week:

""That's Melbourne footy – that's how we want to play, we want to be bold, we want to take it on."

An inexperienced side in GWS came very close to winning today. The last quarter was something both sides were not expecting.

Every round MFC are a chance, the problem is that when they are 2-3 goals down they give up, today being an exception.

Let's all be honest here.

We're almost no chance.

Yes, we just won, and yes, Brisbane just lost, and yes, Brisbane look bad, and yes, we looked OK.

But remember, we played poorly enough during the first three quarters to be trailing by 19 against GWS. And that was at the G. We have to go to the Gabba next week. Brisbane was beaten by North, a very good side who's 1-3 record doesn't do its form justice.

If we play like we did in the fourth, we'll be in with a shake, but we're far more likely to play like we did in the first, second and third, opening ourselves up to being beaten quite easily.

If todays last quarter can go some way to eliminating fearofgettingthepillinmyhandsitis then we may.

Wow. People, we lost two quarters to GWS at home today. We are almost no chance next week.

Really silly to say we're no chance. Brisbane are every bit a bottom six side. At this stage you could even say bottom four. They got smashed by the Dogs and just fell over the line against the Suns.

First half against West Coast and the last quarter today is something to build upon, confidence wise.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Port Adelaide

The undefeated Demons venture across the continent to the spiritual home of the Port Adelaide Football Club on Saturday afternoon for the inaugural match for premiership points between these long-historied clubs. Alberton Oval will however, be a ground familiar to our players following a practice match there last year. We lost both the game and Liv Purcell, who missed 7 home and away matches after suffering facial fractures in the dying moments of the game.

  • AFLW REPORT: Richmond

A glorious sunny afternoon with a typically strong Casey Fields breeze favouring the city end greeted this round four clash of the undefeated Narrm against the winless Tigers. Pre-match, the teams entered the ground through the Deearmy’s inclusive banner—"Narrm Football Weaving Communities Together and then Warumungu/Yawuru woman and Fox Boundary Rider, Megan Waters, gave the official acknowledgement of country. Any concerns that Collingwood’s strategy of last week to discombobulate the Dees would be replicated by Ryan Ferguson and his Tigers evaporated in the second quarter when Richmond failed to use the wind advantage and Narrm scored three unanswered goals.

  • CASEY: Frankston

The late-season run of Casey wins was broken in their first semifinal against Frankston in a heartbreaking end at Kinetic Stadium on Saturday night that in many respects reflected their entire season. When they were bad, they committed all of the football transgressions, including poor disposal, indiscipline, an inability to exert pressure, and some terrible decision-making, as exemplified by the period in the game when they conceded nine unanswered goals from early in the second quarter until halfway through the third term. You rarely win when you do this.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecast—20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze — expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kate’s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwood’s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.
