Dank involved at Demons?

Featured Replies

Melbourne has claimed no association with Dank, report is suggesting otherwise.

Someone is lying - it may not, and hopefully isn't us, but the media will tear us apart regardless.

Caro will have a field day :( even if it is found to have no substance, didn't stop her with the tanking incident with no evidence!

Because we shouldn't have any association with Dank. i believe that his reputation was well known so it is an automatic, keep away.

Then how is it that a far better resourced ( and presumably more smart heads) club like Essendon got sucked in?

Well that report was crap. Nothing illegal and clearly nothing performance enhancing, as evident by us being the shittest team ever.

Nothing to see here. Move on.

Here is a link from twitter. Bloody hell when does this crap ever end with us.

If he was never employed then what the hell was he doing at the club or what was the doctor doing getting involved with him.

How come players names were shown on the text messages but the essendon names were blurred out.

I no longer care.

I'm immune to the decisions this club makes.

Anyone on Demonland who's still here after three losses with an average losing margin of 107 points still cares. It's ok mate, we're here too and as much as we want to protect ourselves from more hurt by pretending we don't care, the truth is, we still do and that's why we keep fronting up.

I'm starting to adopt a Papillon-like attitude. Which would make the MFC my Island Prison.

We know how stuff up , cant salary cheat , lose delibrately and take dodgy drugs. Can we get the quadrella ?

My footy mates have always said substances fall into three categories:

  • Approved
  • Not approved
  • Yet to be approved
If its not approved - don't touch it.

Yep - and it also depends on how they're administered from what I can gather.

Well i guess we wait to see what the footy show has to say

I live my life that way ,

which is mostly in the Gatwick Hotel.

I actually thought i was going to just break down when i herd the report.

After watching the full report all i have to say is what a load of crap. Seems anything to do with dank is somewhat of a story or potential headline.

The story showed they took nothing prohibited so lets just take a deep breath for now....

i swear no one will ever cop as much as us demons have

Our long term club dr was supposed to have left because of concerns about Misson (I think?). Wonder if this is related.

Well we definitely should be getting our money back. I wonder if we got sucked into buying magic beans too? Or is dank one of those dodgy drug dealers who cuts it with something...

Reminds me of that children's joke about god giving away brains.

I'm not lying.

I naturally have an "interest", as I'm a supporter. But my soul has been sucked clean and I presently have no feelings - good or bad.

Are the pros cheap there ?

Not the ones with teef left.

But I'm on a budget .

My room is nice.

After a while you don't notice the blood sprays on the wall and the stench of deros.

Drop in for dinner.

Still nothing on the club website.

It seems that way doesn't it.

If there is anyone at the club that has any involvement in this they should be sacked immediately, even if the drugs involved are not banned, it is just straight out supidity.

Why did Daff leave again???

This might be the last straw for me as a supporter. The club is doing everything it can to betray the trust and loyalty of the people that have propped it up for years.

We deserve the right to respond, but why the f*#k did we say we've had no involvement when we clearly did?

I'm beyond furious.

Then how is it that a far better resourced ( and presumably more smart heads) club like Essendon got sucked in?

That would depend on whether he came to us before or after Essendon, he was given the flick from there and if we took him on after, then it would have to be rank stupidity.

We had one of the most highly regarded doctors and we replace him with a guy who then goes and organises the players to get supplements from this Dank joker.

How on earth injected animal products can be considered a good idea is beyond me.

I don't care if its cutting edge it's disgraceful. I feel for the players who likely knew no better than to go along with it.

There would seem to be two major differences between us and the Bombers.

(1) MFC was done under the supervision of the MFC doctor (there were also references to Neil Craig and "Dave", which must surely be Misson).

(2) None of our substances are or were on the banned list, at least according to the ABC Report. (We don't know yet whether the Bombers took banned substances).

What does look shifty is the MFC statement at the time of the Bombers' expose that players had no direct contact with Dank. That may be so (someone else may have given the injections) but the club was clearly using weasel words in issuing that statement. Presumably the club decided that with the tanking fiasco still hanging over their heads, they couldn't afford to have more bad press on the eve of the new season.

Interesting footnote that the last club contact with Dank was on the day of the Essendon presser..

As for the source of this info, it's clearly Dank, and I agree with the earlier poster who said he's obviously decided that if he's going down, he'll try and take down as many as he can with him.

People on this board seem to forget - the drugs don't enhance the football skills of players.... The ones supposedly administered assist in recovery etc.

  • REPORT: Port Adelaide

Of course, it’s not the backline, you might argue and you would probably be right. It’s the boot studder (do they still have them?), the midfield, the recruiting staff, the forward line, the kicking coach, the Board, the interchange bench, the supporters, the folk at Casey, the head coach and the club psychologist  It’s all of them and all of us for having expectations that were sufficiently high to have believed three weeks ago that a restoration of the Melbourne team to a position where we might still be in contention for a finals berth when the time for the midseason bye arrived. Now let’s look at what happened over the period of time since Melbourne overwhelmed the Sydney Swans at the MCG in late May when it kicked 8.2 to 5.3 in the final quarter (and that was after scoring 3.8 to two straight goals in the second term).

  • CASEY: Essendon

Casey’s unbeaten run was extended for at least another fortnight after the Demons overran a persistent Essendon line up by 29 points at ETU Stadium in Port Melbourne last night. After conceding the first goal of the evening, Casey went on a scoring spree from about ten minutes in, with five unanswered majors with its fleet of midsized runners headed by the much improved Paddy Cross who kicked two in quick succession and livewire Ricky Mentha who also kicked an early goal. Leading the charge was recruit of the year, Riley Bonner while Bailey Laurie continued his impressive vein of form. With Tom Campbell missing from the lineup, Will Verrall stepped up to the plate demonstrating his improvement under the veteran ruckman’s tutelage. The Demons were looking comfortable for much of the second quarter and held a 25-point lead until the Bombers struck back with two goals in the shadows of half time. On the other side of the main break their revival continued with first three goals of the half. Harry Sharp, who had been quiet scrambled in the Demons’ first score of the third term to bring the margin back to a single point at the 17 minute mark and the game became an arm-wrestle for the remainder of the quarter and into the final moments of the last.

The Demons simply did not take their opportunities when they presented themselves and ultimately when down by 25 points effectively ending their finals chances. Goal kicking practice during the Bye?
