We really have a knack for drafting duds. Someone really should be fired.

I was very disappointed to see him leave Melbourne, and the circumstances were quite unpleasant. But if players don't want to be at Melbourne I'd rather they move on, and we get someone who does want to be there. So good luck to Tom Scully, I hope he does become a superstar, and that his only bad games are against Melbourne.

The non-stop criticism of Jack Watts is rough too. I've always admored the restraint and fairness of Melb members compared to supporters at some other clubs. Let's give these young blokes a fair go.

I'm terrified he might kick the winning goal on Sunday and give us the Brian Wilson finger or the Brock McLean sneer. That would be "jump in the Yarra" stuff !

Clearly he's not going to come out and write off his million dollar man, but I reckon there'd be some doubts lingering in the old brain.

That special weapon of the running tank looked pretty impressive when competing against teenagers, but perhaps not so much when running against fully matured athletes where endurance is an expectation.

Hawkins was not a number 1 pick, albeit he was highly rated.

Always a bit of a dreamer Kev. There was no way Geelong were going to move Hawkins on, he had played some very good football mixed up with some average stuff. His superstar is lucky to have played any average stuff to date.

He didn't even look me in the eye & he had this I'm bored out of my mind look on his face like a petulant teenager that's getting told off for something. I left that day thinking maybe he knows he won't be at the club in 2012. There was innuendo about his contract offer with GWS around this time. Nevermind. We got Mitch Clark out of it. Brent Maloney on the other hand was a gentleman. He was happy to chat with us & was even asking us questions about our day, talking about the weather, etc. I wish him all the best at the Lions.

2. That GWS wanted Tom Scully and took him away from us.

I don't want anyone to run through him on Sunday. We don't want to lose players through suspension.

Keeping him down to his current output would do just fine.

he will and always be a lair ... as for hurting him I don't agree but at this stage I would thank him , I look at what we have since received since he left us

now this makes me smile ,

i cant think of what this site would be like if he was getting 1.1 mill from us for his out put

i think he will be a good player but so far he is very undeserving of his massive wage and his fathers wage

there is no way he was the second best player in the comp last year as per his wage

and how many teams can say that they have father and son getting paid out of their salary cap ???

The kids on huge dollars and doing nothing, Kevin sheedy has to say he will be a star because if he isn't, they have wasted the salary they could have used on basically anyone in the AFL on a kid who really had done nothing to prove he was worth it

Also handed melbourne some very useful compo picks.

It's bloody brilliiant gws took him off our hands as it covered up yet ANOTHER crap draft selection.

The compensation picks were way over the odds for what type of pretender he is.

We actually did well out of this for a change.

If you were an 18 yr old and were offered the obscene amount of money he was, including putting your phat Dad on the payroll, you'd jump. My anger has always been directed at the AFL on this one. They manufactured the environment and its had implications for all clubs since.

as i said in another thread.. Scully is averaging 15 disposals, 5 of which are clangers which has him equal 3rd for the most clangers in the competition. His ave supercoach score ranks him 17th on the GWS list. Great return on 50K a match.
