Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

At what point does this become unacceptable?

It's already unacceptable, but we need to realize that scapegoats don't work. This is a team game, and everyone in the team is one nth responsible for the deplorable state we're in.

Don't see how a coach, who is responsible for the players performance, is a "scapegoat".

Anyone you get rid of without giving them time to do what they're supposed to do is a scapegoat. If we're in this position in 12 months time, then sack Neeld and go after someone else. But to expect miracles after just one season is asking for too much.

If this keeps going, we won't even be in the AFL in 12 months.

We don't expect miracles, but NO ONE would have expected we would be WORSE after Neeld has already been in charge of the "hardest team to play against" for 18 months.

I can fully understand why people have Neeld in the gun, but I really hope they stick with him.

Another sacking and change of direction means a new coach, another clean out and the whole cycle starts again.

As I said I can understand the 'Sack Neeld' argument, so I am not interested in arguing with those in that camp, just my humble opinion and gut feel I guess.

You have to give it time , because we are simply not good enough.

Nothing to do with the coach, we just need time to develop some stars, especially in the midfield.

Expecting a shocking (and extremely young) list to do anything but get worse before it gets better is expecting miracles. And so would hiring a new coach and expecting them to turn the ship around. How long would you give our new coach? Another 18 months?

That is extremely dumb.

Why else would we bring in a new coach and ring in a massive amount of changes if it wasn't to make us better?!

FMD.

Yeah get rid of hard body of Moloney a B&F so we an replace with spuds like Rhodan & Pedderson!

Yeah get rid off Gysberts & dont invest anymore time into a pick 12

Maybey work with what you have & maximise their efforts!

Oh yeah thats right forget Neeld just wants to burn players & get spuds in!

Miracles?

How about not losing by 104 points in half a game?

How about a game plan that allows players to play to their instincts and best assets?

How about showing any sort of competitiveness for longer than 60 minutes?

Nobody is asking for miracles. We are asking for the bare minimums.

I was at the game today. I spoke to many many supporters and there is a goodwill use by date. Members/supporters will not tolerate this for much longer, losing is one thing but floggings week after week will kill off people going to the game.

This is damaging the AFL brand and the supporter base will stay at home...then we are stuffed.

The board must come up with answers.

Not getting smashed by 100 points each week is a miracle?

Again, you're confusing poor performance now with eternal poor performance. We cannot slip into the trap of giving our coaches too little time to implement their strategies. Dean Bailey had three years, and that was enough to see that he wasn't right for the job. Mark Neeld has had half that time, and while I agree his time is running out, it has not yet come.

Of course our second half was beyond rubbish. But don't lay the blame for that at Mark Neeld's feet. Our young and extremely low-confidence side was smashed by one of the best teams in the game. Last week was all sorts of shite, and so was the week before. I agree that Neeld is partly to blame for that, and if we continue to dish those performances out every week, he'll surely go the way of Dean Bailey.

Just give the man another year to turn over the list a little more and bring in players who will do what they're told for an entire game. Players who won't run out of steam and drop their heads the moment things go bad.

LEADERS OF THE PACK by The Oracle

I was asked to write a preview of this week’s Round 8 match between Melbourne and Geelong. The two clubs have a history that goes right back to the time when the game was starting to become an organised sport but it’s the present that makes the task of previewing this contest so interesting. Both clubs recently reached the pinnacle of the competition winning premiership flags in 2021 and 2022 respectively, but before the start of this season, many good judges felt their time had passed - n

    TRAINING: Monday 29th April 2024

Demonland Trackwatcher Kev Martin was on hand at Gosch's Paddock for Monday's training session and made the following observations. About 38 to 40  players down at training.  BBB walking laps.  Charlie Spargo still in rehab, doing short run throughs.  Christian Salem has full kit on and doing individual work with a trainer. He is is starting to get into some sprints. I cannot see Andy Moniz-Wakefield out there. Jack Viney and Kade Chandler have broken away from the

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f
