Due to popular demand I'm going to ring in a weekly poll.

Following on from the thread of the same title, the first ever RR's Weekly Poll © asks Demonland posters to vote for the the most annoying, rage-inducing, look-at-moi personage we have the displeasure of having to put up with in the current day AFL fraternity.

Yep, it's the man or woman you'd most like to be playing on as a fullback on when a hosptial pass is lobbed at that sweet spot right right above their wobbling head ... allowing you to go a frightful clenched fist to te back of the scone.

WHOOOOMP!!!

As mentioned in the other thread the winner (loser) gets their scone ceremoniously superimposed onto the end of Mikey T's fist in the following pic ...

*Note ... Multiple choices are allowed. Vote for as many as few as you like in this poll.

* Poll winner (loser) declared on Friday evening.

You might want to change the second half of the poll to check boxes for multiple choice... currently radio buttons allowing just a single choice.

I voted for them all. They were all worthy.

Ray Shaw would be another who was a Filth sniper in the 70's

"Delicate" Des Dickson from Whorethorn is another worth researching.

Excellent Poll RR...you have been missed

Dwayne Russell because he used to coach the Colac Tigers when I was playing (well not really coz he was rarely there) and Damien Barrett are the standouts in this poll.

RR, I think you should add Dave Hughes to the poll. I reckon he makes the grade given his media committments in footy. It'd be a tough one between him and Barrett...

This poll will take some topping RR.
So many good options - so much unexplainable satisfaction derived from simply voting in a poll.

I'm calling it early - Poll of the Year 2013,

p.s. For me, nothing topped the Scott brothers in their prime for punch-desirability. Harry O is the king of the current crop.

I just realised I should have nominated Dean Laidley... purely for his whinge factor that often went completely off the richter scale.

Edit: It's official... I'm an idiot. He's there and I even voted for him!

A couple of minor edits. I think you need to be still connected to the AFL in some meaningful (or should that be meaningless) way. Scotty McLaren was super annoying but he no longer qualifies thank God.

Sour faced Dean Laidley is a must you're right, Hardtack. I think he may even have proved how punch- worthy he is on a recent trip to Bali?

Lastly but by no means leastly I have replaced Mike Fitzpatrick (not a strong enough candidate) with the man who almost single handedly destroyed our list ... Bazza Prendergast.

Glad you like the poll fellas. Enjoy voting.

First time with the app.

Nothing better than the 3 Journos heading up the most punchable.

All this "punchable in the head" stuff I find a little bit distasteful...is it possible that we can have an option to "burn at the stake"?

Gee whiz, not many options to not check. Maybe we should reverse the poll and have one option only - who from this list doesn't need a punch in the head?

... why, R U Bitter about sometin'? :)

nothin' a cold Melbourne Bitter couldn't fix pretty quick... photo-thumb-7808.jpg?_r=1354675321

I think I saw one of these in a urinal at Casey Fields recently.

I still want to punch Mike Fitzpatrick.

He is part of the Carlton push to the 'G, i am betting.

Take him out now. Problem solved.

C'mon RR, where's M Fitzpatrick, or are you too scared to put him in?

# not to mention Kernahan, can't believe you haven't added his mug on the list?

I am in the car every Friday when Greg Denham talks to KB. I had to turn it off and listen to ABC classic FM instead - that's how bad it became. I wonder if some Melbourne official stole his play lunch at Kinder: he is embarrassing in his vitriolic hatred of the Dees.

Mitch Robinson - surely a man that ugly has already been hit in the head a few times.

Scully. I know lots of people change clubs, but the total lack of integrity by him and his dad is a new low point in the modern era. Buckley did the same thing to Brisbane.

how come mike sheahan didn't make the grade?

Andrew Maher could do with one too .

HaHaHa,,,,,HaHa, one what?

.. good onja Biff...

Nomination-but on closer reading I see he has made the cut.

This is a tough one, as much as I deplore violence ,I cant wait to see who we all get to punch!

Folks, I have no intention of voting on this poll and I understand that it's most likely being treated in light hearted spirit but some of you should have a think about what you're doing here. Punching people in the head is a violent act and we shouldn't condone it.

The thread is straddling the line of unacceptability. Any further and it gets closed down.

Happy to hear other views on this.

Thanks.

I believe WJ ,that we are talking more about the "punchability" of the face/head in this instance rather than our willingness to actually perform the act .

Hypothetically ,we are only really choosing which head invokes the most desire to get a punch from the voters , rather than who we will punch(which we wont).

For instance, I have no desire to punch Wayne Carey as it would probably lead to serious injury.(Mine not his).

Whilst Caro will likely win this poll ,I doubt anyone would hit a woman ,or want to .

Merely a modern phrasing , albeit with violent connotations.

I think I'd rather slap Andy Maher anyway ,hypothetically.

WJ, from a legal POV, there is barely intent, let alone a physical act to either assault or intend to assault a person here. There is comedy value in the thought of one of the brave souls on this forum, hiding behind an alias, having the heart to walk up to someone like Wayne Carey and taking a poke at him.

It is I believe pretty obvious that 'Most Punchable Head' is strictly a metaphor for dislike of an obnoxious person, who happens to be involved in the game of Australian Rules Football, in a humorous fashion. Does the poll tend towards the puerile, yes it does, but that would cover half the polls and most of the posts on this site.

I would also argue that not one of the people mentioned above would feel subject to any threat because of the vitriol spouted on this site, and if they did, for the sake of argument CW (who I must admit I couldn't vote for because she is a women...hmmm) felt threatened by this poll then a short apology.

It is also clearly not hate speech because it does not discriminate on gender, race, sexuality, political persuasion etc., something that for me would be going far to far.

RR I take issue with the fact I can't find Scott McLaren, Mike Shehan or Steve Kernahan, I feel gibbed, a bit like a Labor MP not getting a chance to vote for Kevin.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
