Jimmy Toumpas, clean hands.

Finally some one worthy of wearing the #5 of the great Ox.

Very clean hands and beautiful disposal, looks a great pick up already.

He also signed a contract extension today. Apologies if this has been mentioned in another thread? Couldn't find any mention of it on 'land.

Look up 2 posts above yours :-)

Would have had a 2nd goal but he gave it off to Dunn for a 9 point attempt. Would have preferred he slotted it.

Would like to see him spend the bulk of the year on the HFF if, and a big if, they are worried about his fitness base after a late start to the preseason

Just in reply to the OP is it too late to move Toumpas to a clean flowing exciting number 1 and get Hulk Hogan in the number 5 of the OX!

I was backing him to slot that 2nd goal but he was probably trying to do the right thing by giving it off to dunny. Will be a gun this kid along with viney who i thought was trying to pick up the tampo a bit but you the ability is there for sure!

I wouldn't complain, but I'll stick with Toumpas, I like what i've seen already.

To anyone at the game on friday night, did you hear the crowd go 'Toump' (as in toomp) when he kicked the ball?

Shades of 'Ooze' with Yze.

Love his kicking for goal routine

Pretty happy after Thumper's first outing.

The kid is going to be very good.

His nickname is thumper? As in the bloody rabbit?

It's possible he'll be my favourite Demon by the end of the season.

He's a little ripper. The 2012 draft 'week' could possibly be the best ever for this club.

Hogan, Toumpas, Viney and Barry - hopefully all 200 gamers for this club.

Signed on for another year too. Love it when a kid shows some loyalty early

& thanks to JV & TV as well... -_-

lets wait 2 seasons, & just keep the breath of the wolves off them, until they're out of the crib.

Nah, not 'thumper the rabbit', but 'Thoumpa'...

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
