He kicked one. Bit far fetched to be be spruiking better than the arguably the best in the game.

Playing at CHF requires moving further up the ground and taking marks which he did. He would have kicked more if we could hit targets and gain clearances.

don't get me wrong..... I'm glad it looks like we might have gain a good player finally..... But do we really need to smash him with expectations so early? Maybe we should tank for one last year, know that we could have pick 1 + Hogan.....

It was without doubt the best game hes played for Melbourne !!

All I see and read is some fans happy with his first game in the red & blue. And one or two happy that we managed to get a deal of sorts, to get him in the MD.

I think this is a 'drop in the ocean type frenzy' compared to the Viney thread last year. Whilst there are a couple of calls for the fans to cool it, I think the critics of the fans should cool their feet too.

I don't understand the "we've been here before" crowd; which of Miller, Newton, McLean or Sylvia was an athletic barely-18 year old who weighed over 100kg and already marked and won the ball like a pro the year before he was eligible to play? This guy is something new; we haven't been here before and I'm wetting myself with excitement.

How many other quality 193cm key forwards of this type can you currently name in the AFL ? They're as rare as hen's teeth. He's a taller version of Jack Darling. An ordinary footballer like Cam Mooney ended up being a valuable contributor in premiership teams and kicked 67 goals one year. He didn't have a quarter of the talent of Hogan. We're desperate for another key forward and Hogan would be a 10 year fixture."

I made those remarks before I knew he'd end up at Melbourne. I then saw him at training over pre-season. I then get a glimpse of him at Casey during the intra-club. I then see him last Friday night during the NAB Cup and he's everything I expected and displayed the same traits we saw in the under 18 championships. You and some others can take all of the time you like, which is fair enough, but I'm kind of warm and gooey inside, because we've landed a future freaking thooopastar. I've never seen a more obvious star in my life.

I'm just happy to be a MFC supporter when I watch hogan play. It feels good to be happy about your Footy club. If he becomes a epic failure so what? I go back to being gutted about Melbourne and I'm used to that feeling.

Wont go searching for my post but recall last year seeing him play for WA and was quite impressed by Hoges. Actually saw him play at Barry Bogan Oval (Sorry WA Demon) otherwise known as Bassendean for Claremont colts in the Preliminary Final and when I saw him that day with the presence, strut and arrogance to accompany his footy smarts and sthrong leads though god I hope we get this kid.

There were many people watching the game that day who knew they were watching a special talent, I spoke with a few guys involved in recruiting and word at that stage was the Dogs were big into him, which on that display would have been crazy not to have been. Dare say with their deficincies in attack if they had a higher pick than us to trade to GWS, Hoges would be at the Whitten Oval now

Actually, he has played 0 games for MFC.

In the meantime, it's going to be fun watching Casey this year.

Forget Carey and forget the Ox, I see him as having the physical attributes and aggression of one "Plugger"...and that's something you won't hear me complaining about.

I don't see how I've criticise anybody? I simply said " do we have to smash hogan with expectations" you started to knock me..... I didn't target anybody with my opinion......

I'm not unhappy about the way supporters have hyped up hogan, I just don't think it's necessary.... I doubt that anything I say on here will stop the hyper bowl......

Maybe I could be seen as targeting cowboy from hell..... but I was just trying to get under his skin, so he can give me smacks.....again.....lol....
