Not sure if it has been mentioned but the coach was asked about Clark and Trengove injuries.

He said they had very serious injuries and he hoped for round 1 but then went on about it is 23 game season, long year , owe it to the players to not rush them back.

"Coach speak" that said to me forget the first few games.

I'm interested to know why you wanted to know the answer to a question like that, and why you thought that was an appropriate forum to ask it?

Given that our coach was labelled a racist last year, that we delisted Jamie Bennell who is still recovering from a knee reconstruction, but still drafted/traded in Dom Barry, and we still have Flash and Jetta on our list, I just would've thought it would be a question best asked in a more private situation, especially given that the particular subject has been a very sensitive one in recent times, of which have cost people their jobs for speaking openly about their views.

I'm not knocking you for asking it, and from all reports, NC answered it very well (I'd be interested to know his view), just don't see how it would've fitted in with the purpose of an AGM.

Just a quick answer, it has been in the news, it was footy related, and as a Member I am entitled to ask an employee of my Club whatever I like.....NC answered it like it should have answered....given his personal view which is very similar to my own.....as I said last night in the preface to my question......I wear 39 proudly on my jumper..........it is an issue that needs to be discussed...and if you are going to ask anybody NC was the perfect person, footy.sport/life experience.........if we sweep it under the carpet or speak in hushed tones it will always be there.........is there an issue?....is it a media beat up again!....is there anything we as supporters can do/understand/help/etc...NC's view we need indigenous players in the game....but everybody including the player needs to be on the same page and making the same effort/sacrifices etc...but with the Club learning all the time to make it as seamless as possible...think that is paraphrased as well as I can

So, you wear number 39? That could make you a Doug Koop fan for all I know.

Yes, you are entitled to ask whatever you like, which is not what I challenged. I was just unsure about such a question in such a forum. Is it an issue that I would discuss in an open forum at our AGM? Absolutely not, but that's my view, and you have your own.

That said, I admire you asking a question that they wouldn't have had a pre-worded answer for, or do they? Couldn't imagine Craigy saying that there is no place on an AFL list for Aboriginal's.

RB you have beyond the call of duty and what name did you put on the membership RB Jnr

Funny you ask actually. My wife and I agree on the first name, but have been arguing about his likely middle name. So I locked in the middle name I like on his MFC membership. Think I may win this one - at least that'll be one victory for 2013! (It's not Ron by the way.)

As an aside, I also sign up the kids of many of my friends, none of whom actually support the MFC. I figure they'll get used to the red and the blue in the cot, and will grow up to support the Demons.

This strategy doesn't always work though. I signed up my God-daughter to the club last year and her father, who's a passionate Swans supporter, sold her MFC membership on eBay. Unbelievably, someone actually bought it. For 20 bucks.

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,

    GALLANT by KC from Casey

The world “gallant” is not one that is readily acceptable to losing teams in our game of football so when it was used in the context of the Casey Demons’ loss to Sandringham in yesterday’s match at Casey Fields, it left a bitter taste in the mouth.  The Demons went into the game against the St Kilda affiliated Zebras with the advantage of playing on their home turf (not that this has been a major asset in 2024) and with very little else going in their favour. The Saints have close to a full

    MEANWHILE by Whispering Jack

… meanwhile, at about the same time that Narrm was putting its feet on the accelerator to obliterate the long-suffering Euro-Yroke combination, I heard someone mention in passing that Kuwarna was leading Waalitj Marawar by a whopping 46 to 1 halfway through the second quarter of their game over in Adelaide. “What is football coming to?” I asked myself.  In front of my eyes, the Demons were smashing it through the midfield, forcing turnovers and getting the footy to their forwards who w
