I thought now is a good time as any for an update on the DT Demonland Legends League.

League Ave = 1827 League Ranking = 6117

Currently 3 teams undefeated after 4 Rounds:

Lord Travis / Kervo's Kaos / Darkhorse

4 teams, as yet to open their account, perhaps struggling with game plans etc. Have no evidence of tanking as yet. :)

Would like to hear how the other 2 leagues are travelling, if anyone from the can give us an update for the 'All Stars' and 'Rookie' Leagues.

Melbourne Support Teams currently on top, holding a slender lead from Wet Toast.

Maybe I should go and have a look at my team (if I can remember my password)... I gave up after roughly half my team were out before they even took to the park for round 1.

Sure thing.

Demonlands DT Rookies League update:

Leage Ave = 1819 League Ranking = 6788

2 team undefeated after 4 rounds:

Viney's Vindicators / Jiagars

Big props to Jiagers who is currently ranked 1,051 overall.

On a personal note this is the toughest DT league I'm in this year, there are some very very solid teams in here.

Then there's also Hardtacklers. I don't know WHAT that guy is thinking.

edit: just realised he posted above me. Get on your bike mate you can still make finals!

Haha... yeah, like I said, disastrous start and I haven't been in to make any changes yet... time to put in a late charge now that I've lulled you all into a false sense of security. In the words of the late great Viv Stanshall, "look out there's a monster coming".

I;d say the 'Rookie League have been put on notice, beware. hardtack is on the move.

You;'d have heaps of trades to improve your team. I hope your selection commitee get it right. Good luck.

Demonland All-Star League

Average: 1823

Ranking: 6414 of 21,385

'Blease's Wheezes' (Me) sits atop the league ladder, followed by the also undefeated 'Z's r coming'.

The next 6 teams rounding out the top 8 are separated only by percentage, all with 12 points.

The 3 bottom teams are yet to manage a win, with the league anchor being the luckless Odin's Dragons.

Best name award goes to Piers with 'Nixon'sChicksU16s'.

I have to tell Jiagar is a fantasy sport pro,

he is completely dominating the ultimate footy Robbie flower league and the supercoach draft league,

this guy know his stuff

He's not too modest either, 7-UP?

Surprisingly all 3 leagues doing very nicely

If Nixon'sChicksU16s needs a "hands on" skills coach ;) .... er then again maybe not.

I may get arrested for tackling under age girls.

Demonland 'Legends League' progessive report up to Round 12. One more week of the dreaded bye rounds to go.

Controversy struck the league in round 8.

Team 'Tenacious' previously without a win on the board upstaged the more fancied 'Mavericks'

Saved his best score to date against me (a payback for 2012 is my guess)

At the after match presser Mavericks coach was quoted as saying 'We didnt see that coming"

To prove that was no fluke team Tenacious backed it up with another win the following week.

There isnt much between the top eight, (see leaders below) Previously undefeated Kervo's Kaos suffering their 1st lose for the year in round 12

(blame the bye?)

The Niners and Good Times Grimes are yet to open their accounts,

Good Times Grimes has been collecting more donuts than the Mister Donut van parked opposite gate 3 at the 'G'

Not sure about The Niners, might be finding the comp a bit tough.

The Legends are averaging 1816 pts per week and currently ranked 7064 of 21877 teams overall.

The best 'Highest Weekly' score up until round 12 goes to 'Up The Guts' with a score of 2270 in Round 7

There are more than a handful in this league that are playing for 'sheep stations' very competitive league this one.

The top eight teams as they stand up to round 12.

AVG. TOTAL LEAGUE

TEAM NAME RND PER ROUND POINTS POINTS

1. Toumpas' Souvalaki 12 2,014.75 24,177 36

2. Kervo's Kaos 12 1,955.67 23,468 36

3. Jack Attack 12 1,955.08 23,461 28

4. Armpits United 12 1,949.83 23,398 32

5. Hand Egg FC 12 1,948.08 23,377 28

6. Lord Travis 12 1,940.00 23,280 28

7. Darkhorse 12 1,928.92 23,147 28

8. Up the Guts 12 1,927.25 23,127 32

** The TOTAL SEASON POINTS will be used to determine the RANKINGS from all 3 Leagues for 2014. **

Even though a bit off the outright DT leaders pace, The 'Legends' league are doing their bit to keep

the MFC supported teams ahead of all the other teams overall in DT.

Team Supported Ladder .... Melbourne still leads the way

AVE = 1655.72 just slightly ahead of the Crows in 2nd place AVE = 1648.56.

More reports / input from the 2 other leagues welcomed.

Next update will be round 18.

Will we be having a relegation type system where the best of the rookie leagues can move up? I am Viney's Vindicators btw.

Yeah DeeVoted is going to put a system in place where the best of all 3 leagues all end up in one league, middle group in another, and bottom group in another.

We just need to report the results to him of the other 2 leagues at the end of the year and he'll sort it out.

Still unsure if it will be determined based on overall score, ladder position or a mix of both. I'm hoping for a promotion out of the rookies myself, but the competition is pretty tough across 3 leagues.

Just seen that I have you this week, should be a nice easy win for you, I don't think I'll be able to field more than 16 players (if that).

I have one league where I've scored 1700 week one of the byes and 1845 week two and lost both so you never know. I hate the bye weekends they should start playing games round 1 instead of having three weeks of no games and then not play the 3 weeks of byes.

Luke Balls late omission proved costly. Well done to Graeme.

I'll be decimated by the bye round this weekend.

I think overall score is the fairest way coz some teams get super unlucky even though they have a higher scoring team they always seem to lose.

Once I have complied all the coaches 'Total Points' scored for the whole year, from ALL 3 leagues, then I will arrange all the teams into their leagues based only on the Total Points. (Amounts of wins, or ladder positions or leagues will not have any bearing).

ie If you score a total of 70,000 points for the whole year, it would be a safe bet, you'll be in the Legends league.

From there I will work down until that league is full, then start filling the All Stars League, then the next leagues.

I have a countback in place for working out teams that finish with the same amount of points.

Hope that clears it up for you.

Until I get confirmations of all the current coaches from all 3 leagues, its a bit hit and miss who will be returning in 2014.

There will be some that drop out, and I expect a few new faces for 2014. A couple missed out getting into any of the current 3 leagues. Once a league or leagues are filled, thats it. get in early now and I can get Leagues organised at seasons end for next year.

If anyone doesnt see confirmed next to their team name, then I require them to do so. If I need to PM or ID anyone, and I cant, then some may miss out for 2014. To ensure you dont miss an invite for 2014, I recommend to check the opening post.

These details are in the opening post in this thread.

    BLOW THE SIREN by Meggs

Fremantle hosted the Demons on a sunny 20-degree Saturdayafternoon winning the toss and electing to defend in the first quarter against the 3-goal breeze favouring the Parry Street end. There was method here, as this would give the comeback queens, the Dockers, last use of the breeze. The Melbourne Coach had promised an improved performance, and we did start better than previous weeks, winning the ball out of the middle, using the breeze advantage and connecting to the forwards.

    GETAWAY by Meggs

Calling all fit players. Expect every available Melbourne player to board the Virgin cross-continent flight to Perth for this Round 4 clash on Saturday afternoon at Fremantle Oval. It promises to be keenly contested, though Fremantle is the bookies clear favourite.  If we lose, finals could be remoter than Rottnest Island especially following on from the Dees 50-point dismantlement by North Melbourne last Sunday.  There are 8 remaining matches, over the next 7 weeks.  To Meggs’

    DRUBBING by Meggs

With Casey Fields basking in sunshine, an enthusiastic throng of young Demons fans formed a guard of honour for the evergreen and much admired 75-gamer Paxy Paxman. As the home team ran out to play, Paxy’s banner promised that the Demons would bounce back from last week’s loss to Brisbane and reign supreme.   Disappointingly, the Kangaroos dominated the match to win by 50 points, but our Paxy certainly did her bit.  She was clearly our best player, sweeping well in defence.

    GARNER STRENGTH by Meggs

In keeping with our tough draw theme, Week 3 sees Melbourne take on flag favourites, North Melbourne, at Casey Fields this Sunday at 1:05pm.  The weather forecast looks dry, a coolish 14 degrees and will be characteristically gusty.  Remember when Casey Fields was considered our fortress?  The Demons have lost two of their past three matches at the Field of Dreams, so opposition teams commute down the Princes Highway with more optimism these days.  The Dees held the highe

    ALLY’S FIELDS by Meggs

It was a sunny morning at Casey Fields, as Demon supporters young and old formed a guard of honour for fan favourite and 50-gamer Alyssa Bannan.  Banno’s banner stated the speedster was the ‘fastest 50 games’ by an AFLW player ever.   For Dees supporters, today was not our day and unfortunately not for Banno either. A couple of opportunities emerged for our number 6 but alas there was no sizzle.   Brisbane atoned for last week’s record loss to North Melbourne, comprehensively out

    GOOD MORNING by Meggs

If you are driving or training it to Cranbourne on Saturday, don’t forget to set your alarm clock. The Melbourne Demons play the reigning premiers Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields this Saturday, with the bounce of the ball at 11:05am.  Yes, that’s AM.   The AFLW fixture shows deference to the AFL men’s finals games.  So, for the men it’s good afternoon and good evening and for the women it’s good morning.     The Lions were wounded last week by 44 points, their highest ever los

    HORE ON FIRE by Meggs

The 40,000 seat $319 million redeveloped Kardinia Park Stadium was nowhere near capacity last night but the strong, noisy contingent of Melbourne supporters led by the DeeArmy journeyed to Geelong to witness a high-quality battle between two of the best teams in AFLW.   The Cats entered the arena to the blasting sounds of Zombie Nation and made a hot start kicking the first 2 goals. They brought tremendous forward half pressure, and our newly renovated defensive unit looked shaky.

    REMATCH by Meggs

The Mighty Demons take on the confident Cats this Saturday night at the recently completed $319 million redeveloped GMHBA Stadium, with the bounce of the ball at 7:15pm. Our last game of 2023 was an agonisingly close 5-point semi-final loss to Geelong, and we look forward to Melbourne turning the tables this week. Practice match form was scratchy for both teams with the Demons losing practice matches to Carlton and Port Adelaide, while the Cats beat Collingwood but then lost to Essendo

    WELCOME 2024 by Meggs

It’s been hard to miss the seismic global momentum happening in Women’s sport of late. The Matildas have been playing to record sell-out crowds across Australia and ‘Mary Fowler is God’ is chalked onto footpaths everywhere. WNBA basketball rookie sensation Caitlin Clark has almost single-handedly elevated her Indiana Fever team to unprecedented viewership, attendances and playoffs in the USA.   Our female Aussie Paris 2024 Olympians won 13 out of Australia’s all-time record 18 gol
