Well done Jackovich Lives on you victory this weekend. Was dam close until Cyril sealed my fate with 4 goals. Shame his hammy didn't go bang in the First quarter. At 1 - 4 I can feel a big trade coming on. So who is interested in Jack Darling, Col Sylvia (ave close to 20 posies still) and Tyrone Vickory ( ruck/ forward)? Lets make a deal!!!!!!!

Cheers OMR. Seems most games are damn close this year, takes just one player to have a day out that ends up beig the difference. Any interest in Goodes for Sylvia?

Was great getting over the line against Scarlett in Round6.

Although a little lucky would have been really stiff with Stanton going down early in be second quarter.

Every week gets harder and harder,

congrats to all Winners.sorry to losers.

Some big results over the weekend! OMR wow and rpfc kicking 22 goals thanks to Lynch against RR to get the choccies.

May be interested in a trade, then again maybe not, the team members are producing where it counts at the Hurricanes. Good game JCB (3-zip now) :)

No doubt you have a good team, And was out coached to some degree. My excuse---Cancer...but wait till finals...then it all counts.

However note will be in China August 15 till August 27 getting treatment...

Genuine excuse...may have to wait till next year to take up next challenge.

Well done to all winners in round 8. Some big upsets and some serious ladder movement. Very happy with my lads at the minute. Have rebounded from that disastrous 0 - 3 start to now have the win/loss ledger at 4 - 4 after a hat trick of victories. Biggest dilemma for 15 teams is how to stop the rampaging RPFC? 8 - zip is an imposing start. Hopefully the cracks are appearing by round 15 when I get my crack at the juggernaut .

Yeah, I seem to be able to keep going from my terrible trading...

Although the Riewoldt, Danger Mouse, and Ziebell for Redden, Thompson, and Walker did give me a massive upgrade on Ziebell and an elite tackler and kicker...

I guess we will see how that trade goes later in the season.

It's funny though, I have only one keeper from last year remaining and traded out my first 2 picks in the draft. Only Le Cras, Garlett, Armitage, and O'Keefe remain from my draft that play in the 12 starting positions...

So 4 from the draft, 1 keeper, 3 traded players, and 4 FAs.

omr absolutely trounced me this week, if it were pool down the pub i'd be pulling my pants down and doing the lap of honor this week

I'd have done about 6 laps already this year!

I only realised this week you could still draft in players...while playing 1 or 2 backman short each week...I wonder if any results would be different...oh well my bad for not reading the fine print and making the rookie mistake...an extra backman didn't help me this week...well done snomeD

heh - everyone seems to figure out the thing they didn't realise they could do the week they play me :) Could have gone either way in the end - unlucky having Libba on the bench!

12-7 is just a victory Scarlett. Your boys fought hard until the end. 8 goals from your Roo boys really made this a contest. JCB drops a game from nowhere, Hollywood hits back. HT takes out ladder leader RPFC. Jako solid again. Robbo 24 hits the top 8. MM back on the winners list. Range Rover unable to stop the bleeding still, now dropped 5 in a row. The next 3 Bye rounds about to test us all bigtime.

Very apprehensive against you this week OMR. I look at your recent scores and think wow, insurmountable. Where or how will I get up?

Couple of forced changes for me because of the bye might just give me a wake up to re-jig my list and hopefully strengthen it.

Got to say Jackovich lives just keeps chalking them up. Under the radar JL!

rpfc, close call on weekend, could have gone either way going into last game. I'll have to thank the Tigers for their close checking on LeCras.

That's a first. Thanking the 'Tigers.....'

Looks like I'm going to get pantsed this week HT, will be going in with half a side at best against Scarlett, this bye week is going to hurt me big time, will cop it on the chin and hopefully bounce back strongly when I can get Rioli, Sylvia, Rockliff and Cooney back on the park after injury/suspension as well as reasonably filed side

  • 2 weeks later...

does anyone have a trade for dale thomas, if someone would be looking to take him as a keeper, but also for later in the season? looking for a midfielder in an attempt to make a really really late run at things haha

Dodged a bullet with Hodge getting off his charge. When I heard he was contesting I thought he was gone for a couple, still don't understand how he got off but I'm not complaining. So far I'm 1 - 1 with the byw rounds, going to be tough to beat stinga this week.

Nearing the time in which my Competitive Pecentage Indicator kicks in...

When a team is mathematically out of finals contention I am going to grab the percentage and the W/L/D tally and measure who increases theirs the most relative to their original percentage.

It will reward the team that does the best after they learn they cannot make the finals. And it is relative to how they went while they were still in contention.

I think I am more excited about this than the actual games.

Which is pathetic...

    REDLEG PRIDE by Meggs

Hump day mid-week footy at the Redlegs home ground is a great opportunity to build on our recent improved competitiveness playing in the red and blue.   The jumper has a few other colours this week with the rainbow Pride flag flying this round to celebrate people from all walks of life coming together, being accepted. AFLW has been a benchmark when it comes to inclusivity and a safe workplace.  The team will run out in a specially designed guernsey for this game and also the following week

    REDEEMING by Meggs

It was such a balmy spring evening for this mid-week BNCA Pink Lady match at our favourite venue Ikon Park between two teams that had not won a game since round one.   After last week’s insipid bombing, the DeeArmy banner correctly deemanded that our players ‘go in hard, go in strong, go in fighting’, and girl they sure did!   The first quarter goals by Alyssa Bannan and Alyssia Pisano were simply stunning, and it was 4 goals to nil by half-time.   Kudos to Mick Stinear.

    REDEEM by Meggs

How will Mick Stinear and his dwindling list of fit and available Demons respond to last week’s 65-point capitulation to the Bombers, the team’s biggest loss in history?   As a minimum he will expect genuine effort from all of his players when Melbourne takes on the GWS Giants at Ikon Park this Thursday.  Happily, the ground remains a favourite Melbourne venue of players and spectators alike and will provide an opportunity for the Demons to redeem themselves. Injuries to star play

    EASYBEATS by Meggs

A beautiful sunny Friday afternoon, with a light breeze and a strong Windy Hill crowd set the scene, inviting one team to seize the day and take the important four points on offer. For the Demons it was not a good Friday, easily beaten by an all-time largest losing margin of 65 points.   Essendon threw themselves into action today, winning most of the contests and had three early goals with Daria Bannister on fire.  In contrast the Demons were dropping marks, hesitant in close and comm
