What will happen to Demonland if we actually start to win

Whispering Jack will get a Prince Albert

Not on. Wife wouldn't agree.

There have been times past in the history of Demonland when we were winning games regularly. Call me a "cheerleader" if you like but they will return.

What do you mean "if"?

The year ahead is the start of the return of MFC to its rightful place at the top of the ladder. 9-10 wins and a whole new culture.

Old Dee will rediscover his optimism.

Go DEES!

There will be people talking about how they 'don't want just finals. I WANT A FLAG!!' whilst forgetting the last 5 years of absolute shite we have endured, as though we progress from point A to point C without going through B first.

Never lost it Rev Just a bit cautious after 6 years at the bottom and a lot of false dawns

RR will return to claim, he is the rightful Messiah.

Who lead the Dees out of the wilderness and on the path to the Holy Grail.

He alone with his polls was the only reason the club took the initiative to restructure the FD.

His poll on whether we should get rid of Cale Morton was the crowning glory on Melbourne resurrection.

Well that's about as much BS I can write, I'm feeling quite I'll.

Demonland would be a vastly different place if we start winning....cant imagine it!

I cant even imagine what would happen to demonland if we didn’t have a major controversy to worry about every 3-4 months!!

I have to agree DemonWa

They are very difficult concepts to get one's mind around

Winning and no controversy

Hmmm I will have to think a little longer on those!

The first time someone says we had" an honourable loss", I will lose my cool.

In saying that OD, I can't recall the last loss that could feasibly be described as "honourable". Maybe against the Dogs?

It is a concept that gets up my nose P_Man

If you can remember back to 2010 there were anumber of games that some Demonlanders said were "honourable losses"

One that springs to mind was the 1 point loss to the Pies

I clearly remember a few arguments.

IMO if you don't win then it is a loss nothing more than you were not good enough.

The MFC have wallowed in close losses for the best part of half a century.

just win!

^^^ This.

Honourable losses suck.

Just ask the Swiss Tennis Player from last night.

We must learn to never accept losing.

Why do you think a Statue of Norm Smith now stands outside Gate 2.

Norm expected to win.

Its why Whorethorn have won 10 Flags or been fighting deep into September since 1971.

An honourable loss to me is a game that should have been won. We were in the hunt but didn't succeed.

What's honourable about losing a game of footy? Contradiction of terms IMO. Either you win (which has honour) or you lose. Ask the Hawks if they feel any honour in losing to the Swans by about a goal.

I've always found 'land a frustratingly boring place after a win, like the Essendon match last year.

Too much back slapping and merriment.

It annoys me.

Plus, my footy appetite is more easily sated by watching replays of the match, rather than having to debate and dream of what we might become...

i felt no consolation of joy after the '87 Preliminary Final sitting next to the Hawthorn Cheersquad van in the Waverley carpark waiting to get out.

Losing is losing. When the MFC shakes off this chain it will be time for others to wear it. Those far more deserving.

we want to go up, not down CBF... U may like the other way, but IMO going up is better ^_^

... so from 'C' to "A" would be the plan, via' 'B', if we must...

Its just a mater of CBA,,,, maybe we could 'interest' them, in a sponsorship deal? boom boom tish... Oh & vita' 'B'... plenty of it. :o

Many will think that each win should have been better\greater\more fulfilling. Threads such as 'worst win ever' will start to appear.

You cannot possibly top last years win over GWS in Canberra, as worst win ever.

All the Demonland members in the dark will come out to post stuff like this.

Possibly.

But I find that all the doomsayers merely flip to the polar opposite, and it's just post after post of how good we are and how <insert young player's name here> will be a star, but with higher frequency.
