Demon Viney focussed

I think he is good for the club, watching him and Toumpas in action at training the other day and the interaction they have with the other players I think the club has been pulling the right reins.

Great choice of topic Jack.

I was getting a little P&&%ed off by all the negativity flying about in the topics that have been headlining for the last few weeks.

Now we get a chance to discuss a kid whose heart beats Red & Blue like no other.

I have seen him train a few times and can't get over how hard an 18yo puts in. He really is hard on himself and expects the same

from everyone else in the team. It's that attitude and exuberance that will have a very positive influence on the whole side.

I've seen it happen many years ago when a bunch of kids got promoted to the seniors and their effervescence just took the rest of us on a wonderful ride. We were feeling flat as a club but they lifted us to heights we never thought possible. I think with jack and a few others we are headed for one hell of a journey.

I just can't wait to see what lies around the corner.

GO DEES

I love that he is aware of the fact that he needs to focus and channel that aggression rather than just running around like a bull in a china shop. It's that sort of awareness that makes him such an exciting prospect. Everything I have read has just made me more excited about this guy.

Just so you get a full impression of the young man's all round ability, he pulled a cool 48 ( out of 50) for Business Mgt in his VCE exams. I don't know what his full ATAR score was - but that's not a bad start!!

What a breath of fresh air is jack and jimmy,a far cry from other p®icks we had.

Controlled aggression is far more effective than mayhem aggro, this kid is very level headed and will use his aggression to demoralise the opposition one day soon, his o'l man use to be pretty strong at the ball and opposition but I reckon son will take it to a new level, just what the Dee's have lacked for far too long.

His got leadership written all over him.

I honestly believe that the Demons are about to embark on the long march back to where they belong, and young Jack will be one of the band leaders. If anyone disagrees, I don't wanna know about it.

We all know that he's yet to play a game and that us supporters shouldn't put too much pressure on him etc etc etc etc.

But my god he has one hell of an attitude on him. If the unexpected happens and he doesn't turn out to be the player we hoped for, it certainly wouldn't be through a lack of effort.

Future captain written all over him!

I do question the thing about drafting kids with great leadership. How many leaders do you need at one club? If your entire list is packed with them, then who follows? I seem to recall the English soccer team having issues at one point when they had three strong captains from different clubs on the park at the same time, all trying to be the go-to leader of the side and getting in each others' way all the time. Personally, I think we have a very solid core of young leaders and perhaps that criteria should be moved a little further down the order in what they are looking for in draftees.

I don't share your concerns on this one Ralph, so long as they are all singing the same tune, the words of which go "team, team, team".

I really don't know what's more exciting - looking forward to Clark being back out there, or seeing Jack debut and play as a Demon!

multiple orgasms are allowed you know - enjoy

Hurricane Viney gonna tear up the G can't wait it's all I want for Christmas next year is a highlight package!

RM - I think the idea is that these kids will push themselves and each other to heights that require a collective of talented, confident, and irrepressible leaders.

This isn't a 'too many chiefs' scenario as these boys are intended to be the Indians aswell...

Self mastery precedes mastery of others.

These young blokes have the character, the integrity and dare I say the ability to foster that culture of success and not taking a backward step the team has been missing for so long.

You need leaders at all levels in an organisation. People that will challenge the status quo and behave appropriately.

We need a team full of this type to get to and remain on the top.

A horse designed by committee...

Too much theory involved here, and not enough common sense.

Looking forward to watching Viney.

Rising star shoe-in I think, if he doesn't get reported for demolishing someone.

Probably looking most forward to Jimmy Toumpas, just something about the kid.

He's a real excitement machine and hopefully he provide some run out of the backline.

Love this kid so much already, and the timing of his coming to the club is the stuff of legends in the making.

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.
