Possible 2012 delistings

I think sellar began to grow in confidence towards the end of the season and began to show something, i don't think any chance to be delisted/traded

Definitely, especially in his hands and took some good strong marks. Looks great down back and fills that role of a real big strong key back, and was more than handy in the ruck I reckon.

Why Davis? The guy surely needs a bit of time in the 1sts to see what he's about.

Bate is a FA. He has no trade value as he can go where he likes. Please do some research.

Don't be too hard on me Moonshadow, I was really just unveiling a subtle change to my Avatar, but you would need a looking glass to notice!

Why is everyone pointing the finger at Davis. Hasn't seemed to have put a foot wrong since he's come the the club. Hasn't seemed to break into our best 22 but it seems our defence in relation to talls is settled atm. He has seemed to put on size and usually takes the no.1 forward in the VFL which shows that they rate him highly and he mustn't be too far from really pushing our other defenders. I would definetly delist bate, petterd and bennell before him! At least he can bring something to our team if required!

from what I have been told by both Bartram and the club they are happy with the way it is coming along, would thnk we would know before the end of the year at the latest.

In the very cut-throat world of AFL, with little room for sentimentality, surely we need to get a full independent update on Barty's progress and prognosis BEFORE the list lodgment date. Love his endeavors and heart as most do, if his orthopedic guy comes out and says "sorry mate, it's over" in December we lose a spot we can't afford to lose.

Morton has been told he is completing for a spot on the wing, finally will get a full year to have a crack at his favorite position. Don't forget this guy is a goal kicker.

..I hate to disillusion you, but that was his brother wearing number 10, not Cale, who kicked those telling goals in the GF.

In: +11.

  • free agents - Byrnes
  • draft - Hogan, Barry, Viney, pick 4, pick 20, pick 45, Cam Pedersen (3rd round pick obtained from Martin trade), Farren Ray (2nd round pick obtained from Gysberts trade deal)
  • rookie upgrade - Nicholson (rookie upgrade)
  • PSD #3.

Out: x11

Moloney (free agent), Martin (trade), Gysberts (trade), Green, Benell, Jurrah, Bartram, Bate, Cook, Petterd, Davis (if Rivers stays)

Totally Agree. Bigger than Barty, just as fast as Barty, does not have injury concerns like Barty, is youger than Barty, has aggro like Barty and hasn't had anywhere near the same time to progress as Barty. In addition suffered serious illness in his first season. Barty has been a good servant but he has had plenty of time to make a real name for himself. Personally I like Davis for some reason. Maybe its because he was pretty much left with only Jai Sheehan down back to look after the key VFL forwards and they both stood up yet they are both just starting out on the journey. IMO I think the Davis scratchers are both a little unfair and hasty.

Maldonboy Lawrence was a rookie he does not count

Reckon if Bartram does not retire, he'll be a monty to get moved to the rookie list, until it is clear his body has recovered.

So, everyone now thinks Dunn is safe?

Deserves to be imo

So, everyone now thinks Dunn is safe?

I personally think he is safe, especially as he has some of the qualities Neeld seems to hold in high regard. Always has a crack, doesn't shirk the contest and is pretty versatile. If it were up to me I'd hold on to him because at the moment he is a regular 22 starter and we don't have many of them. Plus he looked decent down back at the end of the season.

What about couch? I dont think we will keep him. Thats not based on anything except for that he couldnt get a game with us this year and we will have 3 middies coming in (pick 4, Viney, Barry)

Morton has been told he is completing for a spot on the wing, finally will get a full year to have a crack at his favorite position. Don't forget this guy is a goal kicker.

FMD there is some bulltish on this site. Morton since 2009 has kicked 21 goals in 54 games. Oh yeah, he's a goal kicker.

A full year to have a crack. He has played (or been gifted 73 games). He can't play. It's simple. Time to cut our losses, even if he is contracted.

Couch will definitely stay on for at least another year. Pretty sure he'd have a two year contract as he is a rookie and he dominated in the VFL, almost winning the JJ Liston trophy. I don't think he looked out of place in the seniors, just has a bit of work to do. Impressive tackler.

Hate to say it but he isn't AFL standard. Its as simple as that I think.

Feel bad saying it after reading about 10 fluff pieces about the guy but he will never be an A grade mid and thats what we need.

Is that you Cale?

I also think taking Barry will be putting pressure on Jetta's place on our list.

Why? They are completely different players. Barry is a running outside mid with good footskills while Jetta is a hard at it, tackling inside type.

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
