Latest murmurings of a crazy time

I still struggle to understand all the love for a bloke who managed 3 AFL games this year. He won Werribee's B&F. Couch won ours. Big deal!

Far prefer Sellar.

Why struggle when you can do what any normal person would do and investigate him. Start with a website called youtube.com there's a few clips on there and it's all we can go by since he hasn't had many games. FWIW he looks quite a good player. He can take a grab, is courageous, has good skills. I know it's a clip against Port adelaid but if he can reproduce that form for us he will be extremely handy.

Better than Martin and Sellar so for me that is a good thing.

He'd walk straight in to our 22.

running 40 metres to spoil Sloan. don't know about the twirl though lol

Pedersen basically couldn't get a game because all the abundance of talls North have, unlike us!

Heard he was also offside with some of the senior players at North for what it's worth.

Saw that mentioned on here somewhere; does anyone have any idea what that was all about?

Obviously difficult to tell from a highlights package, but he looks to read the play very well and has a decent turn of speed on him. If he cost us a low draft pick and $150k p/a then I'd be pleased.

Dunno what it's about, but if he's offside with Harvey, he's OK in my book.

Can anyone here clarify the new rules regarding delisted players, there seems to be some bits and pieces floating around that if players are delisted after the trade period they become unrestricted free agents and can be signed by anyone without the need to go to the pre-season draft. If this is the case, a) what is the point in the PSD, and B) what's to stop us or anyone else being in a players ear saying don't sign a contract you will get delisted and we can then pick you for nothing?

removed youtube clip to save space

But what I want to know is this... did he sink that shot on goal from the boundary at about 1:25? :-)

Thanks for the you tube clips Sloonie

I haven't seen much of Pederson but from what I've seen and heard from mates - he sounds like a handy pick up

Looks like a smooth mover - which is more that can be said for Sellar or Martin

I know nothing about him except for the three clips above and he looks nice and agile and hits the ball hard.Whilst we are seeing a package I do like what I see

I'll be kind and assume you've never seen Pedersen play.

He's far better than Sellar.

He is the kind of back-up ruck I would like us to play with.

If he plays only 20 mins as ruck, the back-up ruck needs to be able to play as a forward - this guy can.

Martin, Sellar, and Spencer can't and Gawn and Fitz are not ready.

Gys and Good Times Grimes doing gut running around AAMI this AM. Good to see.

If they have paired Gysberts up with Grimnes as a training partner that could be the best decision over summer. Grimmes is one of the most dedicated AFL footballers in the land with exceptional leadership ability. Gysberts IMO has huge upside if he is able to get himself supremely fit could be the player we a screaming out for I really really hope everything clicks for Gys.

perhaps they've asked Grmes to take Gysberts under his wing for the upcoming preseason?

And in the black and white extreme world that is Demonland, Gysberts will now be viewed as having officially seen the light and is now working hard to stay on the list after the cleverly orchestrated and public kick up the backside given to him by our ruthless footy department.

Whilst I dont think Grimes would be privvy to trading/delisting instructions it does seem odd that someone who is "apparently" close to being shown the door is training with the captain- coincidence or request from the heirachy ?

Or fear of the unknown?

Both have been injury prone early in their careers, apart from being captain Grimes has a lot to offer Gys.

Definitely not. They couldn't cut to the next highlight fast enough..

Showed some great decision making under pressure in the highlights from the game against the Power. Strong grab, clean hands, nice tap-work.

On the surface, a far better option than Sellar.

Grimes and gys running together - very good sign. Can't see Gys getting traded if he's running with the captain. Not enuf value to trade - too much up side that needs a full preseason. Good move, good leadership Jack.

Keep please. (I did say please...)

  • CASEY: UWS Giants

The Casey Demons took on an undefeated UWS Giants outfit at their own home ground on a beautiful autumn day but found themselves completely out of their depth going down by 53 points against a well-drilled and fair superior combination. Despite having 15 AFL listed players at their disposal - far more than in their earlier matches this season - the Demons were never really in the game and suffered their second defeat in a row after their bright start to the season when they drew with the Kangaroos, beat the Suns and matched the Cats for most of the day on their own dung heap at Corio Bay. The Giants were a different proposition altogether. They had a very slight wind advantage in the opening quarter but were too quick off the mark for the Demons, tearing the game apart by the half way mark of the term when they kicked the first five goals with clean and direct football.

It’s Game Day, and the Demons return to the MCG wounded, undermanned and desperate. Still searching for their first win of the season, Melbourne faces a daunting task against the Fremantle Dockers. With key pillars missing at both ends of the ground, the Dees must find a way to rise above the adversity and ignite their season before it slips way beyond reach. Will today be the spark that turns it all around, or are we staring down the barrel of a 0–6 start?
