OMG what a surprise this is - wonder what we have got that we could offer them? B)

I'll bite, I have no idea what you are talking about this time.

Only rumours I have heard regarding Port (in relation to our players... not theirs) has to do with Moloney, and as a free agent that ain't much.

I'm interested, depending on the cost, but I don't think we'd be willing to offer as much as other clubs in terms of picks & I doubt Port would want too many of our players.

Would happily trade Petterd or Cook for him.

We had this little discuss like 2 weeks ago - http://demonland.com/forums/index.php?/topic/31527-straight-trade-jurrah-for-jacobs/ but there is always method in the silliness, some of the silliest looking deals are always the best ones.

This is one player you need to be prepared to offer "We will pay you what you want - within reason" kid can play could easily be a 10 year player, is ready to go round 1 2013

Good luck with that one. Hope you are right.

Nah sorry, can't see any trade value with Jurrah, he will be delisted and picked up by Port or rookie listed. Ben Jacobs has currency for Port and we will need to pay something to secure him... as I imagine that several clubs in Melb would be interested.

The reference to Moloney was more to do with that they were one of the clubs looking to pick him up, not that we would get anything out of it.

The key is to secure Jacobs - get him to sign a deal. Once that is done Port are helpless - If we can display to him & his management we "tried" he would be a perfect PSD target. If he comes in the trade period so be it - but we must be ruthless with this one. But much will depend on Ben himself - but surely we can put a good pitch, walk up start 22 games, right player profile to fit in the "Neeld mould" ready to go round 1 - "How much do you want again - within reason."

The reference to Moloney was more to do with that they were one of the clubs looking to pick him up, not that we would get anything out of it.

Moloney is part of another strategy - I dont think ite really matters where he goes. Dont get the strategies confused.

Ben Jacobs HAS to be a MFC target. Very skilled. Would fit into a half back/quarterback role that we DESPARATELY need.

Get your point about him being skilled and a target but not so sure about us desperately needing to fill the half back role. I guess it depends where Watts, Grimes, Strauss and Blease fit.

We do desperately need quality mids though.

As much as i would love to see Melbourne getting him... i just cannot see it happening

Played 11 in his first year, had glandular fever in preseason 2012 and then returned in rd 8 to play the remaining 14 I believe.

rebounding HB and can go through the middle, very highly rated junior that got heaps of it.

Given he's joining the one way freeway from Adelaide, Caddy is playing hard to get and Sharon has gone west, shouldnt we be into this kid?

I agree. Lets get him, c'mon Dees.. Get this hard at it H/B - Mid...

We must have someone who would like to go to SA to play for many years. We will have picks avail'... deal...

The last time we had a hardass small defender was wrecker.

why not try and get him to go through the PSD? We need to pick up some quality there surely.

Because heaps of clubs want him, he won't make it through to the PSD. Richmond are front runners at the moment

Perhaps consider a straight swap for Jordy Gysberts. Both 1st round picks... I'm open to a trade on the condition that the recruiting department thinks that Ben Jacobs can give us some better spread from contests than Jordy gives us. I wouldn't be offering the world though.. at the end of the day, I don't see Jacobs starting in our fully fit 22.

Jacobs could be our player in the backline.

A handy pickup for defence, who can go into the middle.

I believe he's meant to be a very good kick, and very good endurance.

Plenty of time.

That's a full three seasons of 24.

How does 24 work? Is it like other tv shows that are actually not the full hour per episode (i.e. around the 43 minute mark) or was each episode screened for longer than an hour to make up for the loss of time, or were there more than 24 episodes?

On Jacobs, have liked what I've seen of him.

Just announced on SEN. Jacobs is seeking a trade to Victoria.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
