YES! THIS IS THE BEST DAY AS A MELBOURNE SUPPORTER IS SO LONG. WE ARE MAKING A DIRECTION AND TAKING IT!

I WANT TO CRY, SUCH A SH!T YEAR AND FINALLY A DAY WHERE I CAN SMILE.

I love the idea of getting Hogan. Does't worry me in the slightest that he won't be able to play until 2014. Sounds pretty advanced physically but add another year of full AFL level training and he'll be a bull come round one 2014.

He'll play for Casey for the 2013 season you'd expect and train with the main squad. This is a huge advantage for us as he will not only be AFL ready fitness wise but know the game plan and his team mates. Also unlike next years draft picks will enjoy a full preseason.

Bring Pederson and/or Dawes in an we have coverage for big men and he can slot in as the 3rd big (a la Darling) and then get the third defender. A forward line with Clark, Dawes? Pederson and Hogan sounds pretty bloody good to me!

Also i love the idea of getting a gun centre half forward type as a youngster. The first time since Shwarta we will have this sort of player from the get go.

Get it done!

Todays Jack VIney news has already made me forgot about 2012, which was the worst season Ive ever experienced as a Demon supporter.

Things suddenly look up again for the MFC.

It sounds like there's not a clear pecking order beyond Whitfield and each club may pick based on needs rather than there being a clear best available. Pick 4 would be preferred, but if Hogan is sufficiently highly rated, he could be worth pick 3.

Interesting the value of the MD picks considering the reported strength of this year's draft. Gold Coast have traded pick two for a player who may or may not still be pick one in a year's time. Seems like a bit of a gamble to me unless there isn't a lot of difference between the top few players.

Not a dees fan, from WA. She has a friend with the same name who is a dees fan

She's referring to The Age sports journalist of the same name who IS a Dees fan.

According to The AGE

11.08am GWS has played a role in the complex deal which has sent Jack Viney to Melbourne for only a second round draft pick. Gold Coast traded its pick two to GWS for pre-listed 16-year-old Jack Martin, meaning they did not bid for Viney. Michael Gleeson reports that Melbourne has traded its pick three to GWS for WA pre-listed key position star Jesse Hogan. Neither Martin or Hogan will be able to play in 2013, as they are too young, but both are extremely highly-rated. This morning's dealings leave GWS with picks 1,2 and 3 in November's national draft.

I just jizzed on my keyboard. Awesome day.

If we get Pedersen and Hogan, I would think Dawes may go on the backburner unless a swap of players or a cheap pick. Still have Clark, Fitzy and Watts plus Howe and Sylvia who can play forward.

Apparently we will also recieve pick 20 along with Hogan for pick 3, which we could than use to pick up Dawes? WOooo

loved reading that :)

That would see us sitting with Dawes, Hogan, Viney, pick 4 and pick 13 after day 1 of trading.

Awesome outcome

Draft Wines and Kennedy

Wines, Kennedy, Viney as mids and Dawes and Hogan into our forward line. Mix in Byrnes and a small forward or 2 from late picks + rookie

Would Hogan really be the 3rd or 4th best player in this draft? I question whether these reports are correct. The club may be considering it bout doubt it will happen.

Yes he would, he is practically ready to go at the AFL level. Now give him a year of 1 on 1 attention in the VFL to adapt to the AFL standards, game plan, fitness and improve his kicking skills think of where he will be at starting 2014. Sounds exciting :)

Like x 1000 much closer to his value

is 95kgs close enough?

sure is. I can wait a year for that!

I have not seen him play at all so i need to take you guys word for it.

But i have dreamt many times at having a big CHF who can impose a game.

So who's likely to be available at Pick 4 then? Hope we don't trade it...

If GWS end up with picks 1,2,3 they will most likely select Whitfield, Grundy, and Toumpas. We will then select Wines with 4.

"IF" this is the case, it would be a good result. We could pick up someone with pick 20 in a trade. ie. Dawes/Wellingham.

Which would leave 4 and 13 and pick up Viney with our second pick (pick 26). I'd be inclined to keep 4 and 13 for the draft, use pick 4 for the best mid available and pick 13 (personally I like Membrey for this pick). Any later picks from compensation can be used in possible trades.

i lied slightly only 91kgs at 17 WYL..... thought i heard he was bigger

Covid prevented many Demons fans from legally witnessing the victorious 2021 AFL Grand Final cup performance between the Demons and the Bulldogs, but we all grin when remembering those magnificent seven third quarter goals.
