Whats strange about balls on a dog?

[censored] on a bull, yes.

Not strange, it's to do with 'standing out'...

I agree that [censored] on a bull would 'stand out' but probably not to the lab technicians engineering the androgynous beast.

Mind you it was funny watching Strauss in his beautifully tailored suit standing next to Tynan who looked like he’s been dressed by Op Shops R us.

Steady there Robbie - Tynan is a good West Gippy boy - we are all dressed by op shops in West Gippy.

What I'd love is the club to come out and say "we are dead serious about winning a flag. We will pay 100% of the TPP but in doing so we need contributions to assist in the development and recruitment of the best players. Please help". That tells me that they have allocated resources right and I'd feel as though I was giving our players the best possible chance to reach their full potential.

.

I agree - Being President is about carefully choosing words so you send an unambiguous message. With no insight at all, I would doubt (read "hope like hell") that we would have problems paying 100% TPP. Fans message above says to me that we are in good shape but if you give you will help us get a bigger brighter shinier and more successful club. Its semantics I know, but we have now have 150 posts basically arguing over semantics

I still maintian that "titis on a bull" is what you say about some one who is useless, not stand out.

ie. "geez, jimmy is about as usefull as [censored] on a bull"

"standing out like dogs balls" is a different circumstance altogether

ie.

"did you see bobby at the work christmas party, he was wearing shorts at a black tie event"

"yeah his bare legs stood out like dogs balls"

I know, trying to be clever here.

As an aside - there were a number of clubs that made a loss last year. That means they were technically did not have the revenue to cover their TPP whatever it was. (if not the TPP then some other expense). Port Adelaide is a prime example.

Any club that makes a loss by definition has more expenses than revenue and by further definition having something(s) in their expense column that they just cant afford.

So bottom line is that we will always be able to pay 100% TPP by either generating enough revenue to cover it or by making a loss (this can only be sustained so long until the AFL stops bailing us out)

For me I'm glad we are not paying 100% tpp this year as the list doesn't deserve it right now. Dermy said on sen last week that he knew for a fact that Travis boak was on more coin then Sam Mitchell. One is a good midfielder in a spud team and the other is a gun midfielder and a premiership captain. I say pay 100% when it is warranted

You will not get an argument from me cfh

I have been complaining for a number of years that the Players union agreement is misplaced.

Why should the MFC being paying similar to Hawthorn.

The Dees should be paying 80% next year until players perform at the 100% level.

It won't happen of course but the current system is IMO wrong.

If you couple this to the fact there are at least two teams too many in the competition

then there at least 80 players in the AFl getting paid serious money who are not AFL standard.

Now I will wait for RR to fall upon me.

You are too right there OD.

I've thought that over the last 6 or so years we've had too many players on big coin who would struggle to get a game elsewhere, let alone a big pay packet. Cam Bruce found this out the hard way, unfortunately.

I congratulate all who donated to the MFC at the Foundation Heroes function.

Well done to you too Robbie F, your ' out and proud of it' contribution makes light reading

You can quite easily lose a fortune every year supporting the club you love. I've had my share.

Mono, the Coterie, regardless of the the year and the state of the clubs health, can and has raised, on ave, over 300k p.a. And this is a conservative figure at best. There is no need for blatant publicity of their efforts as it is well recognized within the club and across business circles.

It would be pleasing to see a win for Brad today. A nice bloke and a very good servant for our club.

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,

    GALLANT by KC from Casey

The world “gallant” is not one that is readily acceptable to losing teams in our game of football so when it was used in the context of the Casey Demons’ loss to Sandringham in yesterday’s match at Casey Fields, it left a bitter taste in the mouth.  The Demons went into the game against the St Kilda affiliated Zebras with the advantage of playing on their home turf (not that this has been a major asset in 2024) and with very little else going in their favour. The Saints have close to a full
