We must follow Hardwick's methods.

We must do what Hardwick has done at Richmond and cut as many as we can both this year and next.

I expected an average year but with some hope, all this year has shown me is after so long I'm starting to not care.

Wow........another "cull the list" thread.

Maybe take a moment to look through the recents and just add to one of the many on the same topic.

This board is becoming very repetitive.

I don't think that there is an award for starting the most new threads on topics already extensively covered!

But what if we get Cloke? Would he be worth the money?....... lol

Im all over all of you blokes - its all Cale Morton's fault afterall.

I'll call that and add a demand for Neeld to be sacked.

I'll double that and throw in Dean Bailey and Barry Prendegast

And sack the board. Chuck and Checkers are on thin ice too.

All in.

Bohdan Babiczuk FTW.

I'll trump you with Bodhan Babujuk and the membership chick (can't think of name)

Yep, we should definitely be modeling ourselves on a coach and his underperforming team destined to miss the 8 for another season.

FFS, maybe we should look at the top sides and model ourselves on them. You know, the ones that are hard at the ball and run all day and have great skills?

Just a theory.

Garry Lyon should either commit or F off - no way he should just waltz in and pick the coach for us EVER AGAIN!!!

Bloody Smith and his curse !!

So what is your precise gripe with the coach?

Can we please take Dean Bailey back? Neil Daniher? Anyone that can engage the players??

Funny how not everyone sees or understands sarcasm...lol

maybe we can see if we can merge again?

As bad as things may get -this is never an option and even if you were joking I hate hearing such wimp comments from our own supporters.

Suck it up tiger. The champion is the guy that gets up when he is down.

I think the last thing anyone should do, ESPECIALLY Melbourne, is follow Richmond's lead.

Jesus could be guiding their list development and I still wouldn't do it.

Seriously though, the only way teams like Melbourne and Richmond are going to make a stamp on this league is if they make a gameplan and style their own. Following Richmond, a team that might even miss the finals and really hasn't performed all that much better than we did in 2010, is the worst thing we could do.

We need a "Melbourne style", not a Hardwick style. Let him do what he needs to do at Richmond. Everyone should follow us, not the other way around. That partly defines success.

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
