In what way? He didn't exactly get a rousing reception here either.

I reckon a thread like the Magner one wouldn't have been deemed worthy of a reply over the road.

Some good posters here (where is Hannibal btw?) but I can't cop a gazillion posts using different words to say the same thing.

'Ology was like walking into an old western saloon where the sheriff had been run outta town.

I miss the dirty glasses already.

Sheepishly puts his hand in the air. I was permanently banned. One day I could no longer access the site. I couldn't really tell you why as I had zero communication, or explanation. I'm not complaining, as that's their business, and I suspect I know why. C'est la vie. If I'm subsequently banished never to be seen again you know'll why, or maybe not - although they've known since day one who B-H really is, so if I'm a good boy ...

I joined 'land in Nov, 2002 and 'ology in Oct, 2004. From around the time I joined 'Ology I would have posted there far more often for 2/3 years. When life was boring over summer it was Rono that kept me entertained. He's a left field thinker and to be honest I don't share many of his views on footy, but his unique style of posting is very talented. I actually like Ron, but I think he'd be too proud to join here again. I hope I'm wrong.

But without wishing to sound condescending I grew out of that site. Clearly some people still love it, but to me it's now irrelevant. I see no need for it, but obviously others disagree.

Hmmm, always thought it would be the case that many of the old "ology posters would find their way here under different names.

Shame, as Hannibal was one of my favs, even though I didnt agree on everything.

On a tangent, am I the only one that subconsciously shies away from jumping into a converstion/debate with certain long-time posters, while they are involved in a one on one?

Hannibal was always one of them. Not sure why. Might have been the air of seniority. Always enjoyed watching the old stagers take each other on.

TGR is another. I find myself only being able to take pot shots, and not engage in anything too in depth.

Its funny what a difference a name change can make.

I'm no different, although I can't get away with what I used to, which I suppose is one of the things I miss about 'ology.

If you want a private berating send me a pm.

Why berate someone privately when we are all anon. users anyhow.

I like a good public spat personally.

"Always work on abusing someone else before you try to improve yourself"

my twisted grandmother used to say from her prison cell .

Thats one of the funniest, and yet most useful pieces of information I have ever learned from the internet. Thanks.

Thanks for the generous offer.

But you're happy to spend your time defending the club against the great unwashed on Big Footy. I don't get it.

I'm a fan - you and I see footy through the same eyes and I enjoy your turn of phrase. But hanging out on the Polls Board debating the merits of Mitch Clark and Tyrone Vickery?? Obviously I read that stuff from time to time, but get involved in posting? eff me.

Big Footy is definitely TNA. Home of the battler, idiot and the washed up. (and Supermercado).

Bags being some TNA figure with his dignity still remaining. Unfortunately not sure there is one.

I rarely post on any forum there, but if I do it would invariably be the DT forum. However, I don't mind the combative nature of arguing with opposition fans occasionally. But most weeks would go by without me making a contribution. I can only assume you read there more than me if you notice all of my offerings. I was more active there years ago.

Thanks for your interest.

Mind you after a few have read his posts they will be clamouring for it.

  • REPORT: Western Bulldogs

The next coach of the Melbourne Football Club faces the challenge of teaching his players how to win games against all comers. At times during this tumultuous season, that task has seemed daunting, made more so in light of the surprise news last week of the sacking of premiership coach Simon Goodwin. However, there were also some positive signs from yesterday’s match against the Western Bulldogs that the challenge may not be as difficult as one might think. The two sides presented a genuine football spectacle, featuring pulsating competitive play with eight lead changes throughout the afternoon, in a display befitting a finals match. The result could have gone either way and in the end, it came down to which team could produce the most desperate of acts to provide a winning result. It was the Bulldogs who had their season on the line that won out by a six point margin that fitted the game and the effort of both sides.

  • CASEY: Brisbane

The rain had been falling heavily in south east Queensland when the match began at Springfield, west of Brisbane. The teams exchanged early goals and then the Casey Demons proceeded like a house on fire in the penultimate game of the VFL season against a strong opponent in the Brisbane Lions. Sparked by strong play around the ground by seasoned players in Charlie Spargo and Jack Billings, a strong effort from Bailey Laurie and promising work from youngsters in Kynan Brown and  Koltyn Tholstrup, the Demons with multiple goal kickers firing, raced to a 27 point lead late in the opening stanza. A highlight was a wonderful goal from Laurie who brilliantly sidestepped two opponents and kicked beautifully from 45 metres out.
