This has to be one of the worst peices of "journalism" i have ever read, although Robbo is a glorified Bogan.

Yesterday he got his exclusive story completely wrong, & now today i read "what if it were true?" i beg your pardon...when does a journalist ever right this sh!t??

Your job Robbo is to tell the facts as best you can.

Maybe it was Robbo who consumed all 3 bottles of wine that night in November last.

What a [censored] writer (sorry excuse for said)

Resignation required.

Hahaha I read it too and laughed WYL. Such a [censored]. If he is in fact the next chief at The HS, journalism is nearing a sad place.

Fact remains that Demetriou and AFL honchos asked Cook would he be interested in taking on North Melbourne.

The AFL. Unbeknown to North Melbourne. Geelong would be p!55ed, despite Cook saying no. Nevermind the casual offer, it's sometimes how it's done to canvass interest.

What did he report that wasn't fact ?

Barrass i am on the mobile right now so it is hard to access links. If no one else can do it i shall try and download it for you tonight when i make it home.

Basically Mark Robinson wrote an article yesterday that was completely wrong concerning Brian Cook going to Nought Melb.

So today he writes...But what if it was right.

Extraodinary behavior. Never seen it before.

Posted

The AFL approached Cook. Twice.

It may not have been the secret meeting Demetriou laughed off as a boozy night, but Round Robbo is not a million miles from the truth.

The full story lies somewhere between Round Robbo's story yesterday in the Herald Sun, and Andrew Demetriou's blasé dismissal yesterday on SEN.

The Herald Sun has always been a piece of crap, never pay too much attention to it. Robbo is worse than Sheahan I'm guessing? Very annoying on AFL 360 (I think it is?).

Posted

You say he got it completely wrong WYL, what exactly did he report that was wrong I ask ?

Formality. It was an off the cuff joke made after numerous bottles. Not a back page headline.

Wrong.

Wrong.

Fact is, he was asked, twice. Cook supports it. Despite the casual approach over dinner then lunch 4-5 months later.

This is not wrong WYL. Not if Cook supports Robinsons report.

Whether you like it or not, the AFL are concerned for North, they know everything that's going on with that club, and they've done it on their own bat without North or Geelongs knowledge. That is a story.

Yes THAT is a story, but what Robinson wrote yesterday & today is rubbish.

Rule 1. Check and recheck sources before publication.

Mark Robinson is an accurate reflection of his readers. Bogan for bogans. He cannot string sentences together, let alone debate anything deeply.

However, Caro's article this morning was equally revolting. What a piece of work she is.

Perhaps, but i heard the sen interview with AD. Those guys are so soft and sycophantic it defies belief. I was crying out for them to ask the dead obvious question, which they never did of course. If indeed it was a joke by jolly ([censored]) andy d why did he choose North as the club, why not any other club. Even in jest picking North surely indicates they were/are worried about how it is being run.

And please AD don't trot out the rubbish about private conversations, only jokes, can't we say anything when out in our free time etc etc. The AFL exec on the turps at a public function? Button your lip and be a bit discreet, of course it will get out otherwise. I can just picture it, a bunch of over weight middle age blokes who think they rule the world telling everyone in ear shot how they were going to fix all the problems. They'd soon take a club CEO to task if they were say, bagging the AFL in a similar public forum

Also they didn't ask the other obvious question which is was it ever raised on another occasion? Which the very next day Cook volunteers it was, in a more formal way it would seem

Yes, Robinson does chew the language up when on television. His written rubbish must be heavily edited.

Yes. She has really stuck the high heels in deep twice in 48 hrs this week.

David Cloke is merely looking to maximise his sons football value. Aint nothing wrong with that.

Ok so you agree then, he nailed the story, but you consider it rubbish? Yet, I thought you said he got it completely wrong ??

You're awfully confusing.

did he write that he was going -or that he was approached ? a big difference

Edit: your reporting on his reporting is a bit dodgy.

Not really. It's in the paper therefore it is a story. However it is also the type of lightweight rubbish that journos print when, presumably, they have to fill a column and have nothing else.

And you just like an arguement.

North Melbourne are a story that will further develop. What Robinson wrote was rubbish. He nailed nothing.

It is the same as Quoting a Politician in the house of Reps or in the members Dining room. Totally different place. What was said at Icebergs was said in jest after a few.

You may consider it lightweight material. That's ok.

I would have thought the League going behind the back of two of its clubs, particularly Geelong, when its happy to spruik integrity, honesty, and getting found out is rather non-lightweight. What does it say ?

Probably what we as Melbourne supporters already knew. Someone can't be trusted.

sorry...did i hear integrity, incorruptibility, honesty mentioned in the same breath as AFL ????

Jockularity.....Jockularity !!!!!!!

must be funny furzday !!

I said lightweight because you have to question the whole scenario. (1) It was some sort of non official [censored] up. (2) At such functions people are careless (3) Robbo wasn't there so he's relying on hearsay from a function that was (see 1 and 2 above)

I dont care if it was a throw away line after a few drinks as WYL has alluded to . Totally inappropriate.

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to
