I don't mind u ( or anybody else) slamming on David King but he is a genuine rocket scientist compared to Mark Robinson who, by comparison, escapes the kicking he deserves.

I actually don't mind Mark Robinson. He displays a trait that is absent from many (most) journo's - he has the ability to admit when he gets a call wrong and he does remember what he says/writes. He does amuse me when he floats something on fox without thought and then laughs at himself for being a goose. I detest journo's who do one of two things (or both)- deny/forget they ever said/wrote something OR/AND will go down with the ship on wrong calls - refusing to admit they were wrong and defend the indefensible.

Robbo asked King last night on AFL360 if he felt foolish over his comments after Melbourne's win. He of course didn't given an ounce of credit and didn't retract anything he said, but watching that question put to his face was truly a thing of beauty and reminded me why I love Robbo. Maclure was loving it as well.

I don't think the word 'journalist' should be attached to any of the commentators who happen to be former players. Journalism is a profession and I guarantee none of the ex-players who now make their living from talking/writing about the game ever went to university to get a degree in journalism.

Not so long ago football disappeared from the sports pages mid week. There was the Monday match reports/wrap up of the round, and if we were lucky Tribunal hearings on a Tuesday night. Then it was dead until we had team selections Thurs night - Friday morning's paper.

Because of the proliferation of pay tv and sports radio we now have so much extra time to fill and the fall off in quality is obvious.

Now we are supposed to give a rats about every third rate opinion - sorry I don't.

Take a look at Caro Wilson's back page lead on Tuesday - it was comment masquerading as news - that's where we've got to. Opinion outweighs facts. King is just a low rent instance of this truth.

His Gooseness is on the SEN panel now dodging e very question and ribbing about his Neeld comments.

Worth a listen just to hear him squirm. I can't ring as I'm O/S but if there'r any Demonland readers prepared to call in, do so and pay out on the guy. Please!

They dont call them hacks for nothing .

Dont expect too many thoughtful articles .Half of them couldn't write their name in the sand .

    It was such a balmy spring evening for this mid-week BNCA Pink Lady match at our favourite venue Ikon Park between two teams that had not won a game since round one.   After last week’s insipid bombing, the DeeArmy banner correctly deemanded that our players ‘go in hard, go in strong, go in fighting’, and girl they sure did!   The first quarter goals by Alyssa Bannan and Alyssia Pisano were simply stunning, and it was 4 goals to nil by half-time.   Kudos to Mick Stinear.

    Fremantle hosted the Demons on a sunny 20-degree Saturdayafternoon winning the toss and electing to defend in the first quarter against the 3-goal breeze favouring the Parry Street end. There was method here, as this would give the comeback queens, the Dockers, last use of the breeze. The Melbourne Coach had promised an improved performance, and we did start better than previous weeks, winning the ball out of the middle, using the breeze advantage and connecting to the forwards.

    With Casey Fields basking in sunshine, an enthusiastic throng of young Demons fans formed a guard of honour for the evergreen and much admired 75-gamer Paxy Paxman. As the home team ran out to play, Paxy’s banner promised that the Demons would bounce back from last week’s loss to Brisbane and reign supreme.   Disappointingly, the Kangaroos dominated the match to win by 50 points, but our Paxy certainly did her bit.  She was clearly our best player, sweeping well in defence.
