Scully's greatest moment is a Giant leap forward

How's his knee BTW. The atmosphere around there has done for it by all appearances.

His knee was fine. We had been rolled over. Kid couldn't wait to leave. He played well against Ablett. Says a lot about where we are. I hate to admit it. But it is true.

Don't ever recruit high draft picks without good teachers. End of story. I hold the board accountable for that one.

I don't care about Scully's giant leaps forward, I just care about him falling backward on the end of Tappy's shoulder. If Scully gets off the ground unassisted when they play us I'll be ashamed of the whole team.

He won't play. Nothing surer.

How much more shame can you or we take? Be prepared.

The board and CEO should have invested heavily in the FD coaches as soon as the debt demolition money started-rolling in...to wait 2 years was a terrible oversight that is exactly why we are sh!te right now.

Walked into a poor culture, allegedly....

Bit like the 6000 year old culture trip at the end of 2010.

Not sterile enough for him.

No junk food for his dad.

He can say what he wants about the reason he plays football and how much he loves his lifestyle in Sydney. The reality is that his lifestyle is better because he went from a fixed contract for a draftee to being the highest paid player in the league and he's loving life because he's got more money that he knows what to do with. While I have no problem with this, I do have a problem with his claiming it has anything to do with his team. Man up and admit that the money what motivates you dude.

Amen! I dont care whether he has been proven right be recent events. Point is that he never bought in from the start. And as meek as the demons often are, if they dont 'play like demons' in that game ill be very dissapointed - ive already got my banner printed up for the game: 'Prove $cully Wrong!'

Good luck to Tom - never held his leaving against him. GWS are being lauded for how they are going about it and they are a pretty competitive unit. Now can they hold onto these players.

But when was the last time any MFC player had a head to head battle with Ablett Jnr.

That is what we lost. All jokes and barbs aside. It hurts. And i am very disappointed in the MFC for being so ill prepared in this comp.

Yeah Tom showed a lot of honesty and intergrity with the way he went about it. He may be a star yet but he will always be remembered as a mercenary. he could have stayed and OWNED our club. Been set up for life and be remembered as a great club man.

Well I was not talking about how he did it, more that it was a no brainer.

There is development required at multiple levels, lets hope it happens soon.

I can envision this scenario. After they pump us by 40 points our players will shake hands with Tom, have a chat and a laugh and pats on the back all round.

So true that it makes me rip my hair out LOL! I even worry that a few envy him for going and would like to do the same.

I wish we could bring back and send out Byron Pickett for just one game - that game! For one of those beautiful 4-week banning bumps

Me too. I just can't imagine him stepping onto the 'G when we play them. Either Sheedy will hold him back for the game, or he'll give him the freedom on the day to run free and collect 40 possessions.

I think that if he does play, he'll rip us apart.

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi

    WILDCARDS by KC from Casey

Casey’s season continued to drift into helplessness on Sunday when they lost another home game by a narrow margin, this time six points, in their Round 13 clash with North Melbourne’s VFL combination. The game was in stunning contrast to their last meeting at the same venue when Casey won the VFL Wildcard Match by 101 points. Back then, their standout players were Brodie Grundy and James Jordon who are starring in the AFL with ladder leaders, the Sydney Swans (it turned out to be their last
